Dr Tom Goyer MBBS BSc (biochem) CPCA ASCM AAAM After starting my medical career with a strong interest in general surgery and emergency medicine one day my life took an unexpected turn when at the end of a long and busy overnight surgical shift I was struck by the realisation that nearly every patient in the ward that I was treating was sick and in hospital because of poor diet and lifestyle choices. In this one instant I realised that no matter how much we advanced our medical technology and no matter how many doctors and nurses that we trained we were always going to be fighting a losing battle unless we confronted the actual root causes of disease and in doing so stopped it from ever occurring in the first place. From that day on the focus of my career changed to preventative and anti ageing medicine, so whilst before my study had revolved around surgery and dealing with disease, afterwards my study now focused upon diet, nutrition, exercise, skin rejuvenation, cosmetic medicine and supplementation. My passion is assisting my patients to achieve an optimal state of wellbeing and health in order to help them live a healthy, long and prosperous life. I believe that the three essential pillars of good anti ageing and cosmetic medicine are communication, integrity, and the attainment of subtle results which leave people looking entirely natural and refreshed. I am a Fellow of the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australia (CPCA), an Associate Member of the Australian Academy of Anti Ageing Medicine (AAAM) and of the Australian College Of Phlebology (ACP). I regularly attend international training and conferences to keep up to date with all the latest techniques in the rapidly evolving world of preventative and anti ageing medicine.
