The Deep Autumn Before we jump into learning how to wear all of the exciting colors in your palette... it s important to understand your overall coloring and how to wear your colors in general. Your coloring is a deep autumn... which means that you have medium to high contrast between your hair, skin and eyes. Your overall look is deep and warm. Your colors are deep, muted and rich. You ll notice,in your color wheel, that there are no pure clear colors. Bright saturated colors would look wrong on you. If you want to look your BEST... keep your colors in medium contrast. So... a soft peach blouse with warm grey pants would look very striking. An olive green top with jeans and a lavendar-pink scarf would be lovely on you. A light teal t-shirt with dark jean shorts is perfect. Tops with medium contrast patterns also look great on you. Think deep, warm and rich. For the rest of this book, I will be breaking down your color palette into different categories and moods. You re going to learn how to choose your colors so that your outfit reflects your mood, personality and life scenario. Just imagine getting ready for a party and knowing exactly what colors to pull together to give just the right impression. Maybe you want to be the center of attention... maybe you want to fall into the background... maybe you want to feel important... maybe you want to feel flirlty and sexy... I m going to explain how to wear all of your colors so that you are empowered to design the perfect outfit for any situation in your life. YourColorStyle.com 2 Jennifer Thoden

Your Deep Autumn Color Palette YourColorStyle.com 3 Jennifer Thoden

Your Neutrals Let s start out with your neutral colors. Your neutral colors are your basics. These are the colors that will go with any color in your color palette. They are the base of any outfit. When in doubt on what to wear... pick up a neutral bottom... put on a colored top... and you re good to go. Is it really that simple? Well, sure... it CAN be that simple... BUT not all neutrals are created equal! There are 3 category of neutrals... Formal, Business and Casual. Your Black This is your version of black. Your black is what you might wear to an important event or when you need to represent some authority. This is a very serious color for you. Your suits should be in your black. Wearing shorts or casual pants in your black just won t look right on you. You can always break the rules... just understand the statement you are making when you wear this color. Your Brown This is a neutral that should be your go-to for most business occassions... and really, your best neutral for almost all occassions. You can wear your brown as a dressier outfit for going out... Just don t go to a formal event in your brown. Casual This is your casual neutral. Your shorts, casual pants and skirts will be in casual. You would never wear your casual basics when giving a business presentation or to a formal event. Now, that you understand that you have 3 neutrals to work with... and how to wear them... let s go to the next page to discover the exact colors from your color palette that fall into each category. YourColorStyle.com 4 Jennifer Thoden

Your Black Your version of black is charcoal grey, navy blue and deep taupe. Instead of wearing a black suit to work... wear a charcoal grey suit with a teal blouse. You will look powerful and stunning. Instead of wearing a black dress to an event, wear a navy dress. You ll get the same look and the color will look so much nicer on you. For business situations, you would wear your version of black as a suit... although you could certainly wear this color as a dress or as trousers. Black on a soft autumn can be harsh and I would avoid it. This may be very disappointing to you because I know black is a favorite for many people. So... all is not lost! If you want to look your BEST... just wear any of your Soft Autumn darker colors close to your face. For example... wear your little black dress but wear a deep teal silk scarf around your neck. You can wear your black on its own... but you will come across as serious and unapproachable. If that is not your intent... dress your formal outfit down by adding a color from your color palette. YourColorStyle.com 7 Jennifer Thoden

Your Brown Your version of Brown are the colors that will work best for your basic clothing. Wear your browns as pants, skirts, jackets, tops and dresses. Although this is still a more formal color set... you would never wear a suit in these colors... and you wouldn t wear formal evening wear in these colors. You can wear your brown with just about any of your colors... and for just about any occassion... just make sure that the overall contrast level of your outfit is on the low to medium side. Choose a handbag in your basic brown to have a neutral purse for all of your outfits. You can also wear your browns on their own when you want to fall into the background... and not make much of a statement. You ll be... well... neutral! YourColorStyle.com 8 Jennifer Thoden

Your Casual Colors Your casual colors are the colors that work best as shorts, denim, khakis... anything very casual. Let s not forget about jeans! Blue jeans also fall into this category even though you won t see a color for them. Wear your jeans with any of your casual colors for a super casual, laid back look. Or pair your jeans with any of your colors to set your mood. Blue jeans are my favorite neutral because you can dress them up or down based on the top, shoes and accessories. You can certainly wear them to work if your office allows it... just keep in mind that they are still casual... even if you re wearing pumps. YourColorStyle.com 11 Jennifer Thoden

Healing Energy Your healing energy colors are probably the most flattering on you. These are colors that you would wear when you need to feel balanced. When you re feeling stressed or are in conflict with someone... wearing these colors will help you feel calm and centered. It s no wonder that you often see yoga clothes in these colors... because they are perfect for meditation and restoration. Carry these colors into your home. Buy a lamp or lamp shade in these colors. Wear jewelry in your relaxing colors. Wear a blouse in a healing energy color when you anticipate conflict with another person. Hang art with these colors in your office to reduce stress. Wrap yourself in a blanket after a stressful day. Paint your nails. Paint the walls in your favorite room one of these colors and it will become the room you go to to think, meditate and recharge. Buy as many pieces of clothing and accessories as you can in these colors. Sweater, blouses, pants, jackets, workout clothes, scarves, jewelry, hand bags... pajamas, socks, blankets... you get my point. You can t go wrong wearing your healing energy everyday YourColorStyle.com 14 Jennifer Thoden

Relax These are the colors that you would wear and surround yourself to relax. Painting your bathrroom or bedroom in these colors will provide you a soothing and tranquil environment. Wear pajamas, blankets and slippers in your relaxing colors. Whenever you want to feel relaxed and be in a tranquil state... wear these colors. OutfitIdeas4You.com 17 Jennifer Thoden

Be Romantic These are your romantic colors... your version of red. The true red in your palette is a bit too powerful to be a romantic color... it s a more serious color for you. Wearing a true red dress on a date may be stunning but also intimidating. If you want to appear warm and inviting, wear your bright pinks and corals... which are an excellent alternatives to red. Wear lingerie in your romantic colors... a cocktail dress... silk scarf... your lipstick... jewelry... anything that allows you to feel sexy and warm. Wear your romantic colors when you want to feel sexy, passionate and romantic. Your romantic colors are warm, energizing and friendly... and that s exactly how you will be seen... whether on a date or with good friends. YourColorStyle.com 20 Jennifer Thoden

Be Powerful Your power colors show your sense of authority. These are strong colors for you and you would wear them whenever you want to make a strong impression. You can wear these to a job interview, formal presentation or to simply make a dramatic statement. Wearing these colors with your black is a perfect combo for a job interview or presentation. You can also combine your dramatic colors with a lighter color to have some fun. If you really want to stand out at a party... wear a top in one of your power colors. Wear an evening dress or cocktail dress in one of these colors and... wow! Bottom line... if you want to make an important impression or stand out... wear your power colors. Be Honest and Open These colors harmonize with your skin tone. When you wear them you are connecting with your most genuine self. Wear these colors when you meditate... plan on having an open and honest conversation... and when you want to have a very personal and intimate conversation. Choose underwear, lingerie and pajamas in your honest and open colors. OutfitIdeas4You.com 26 Jennifer Thoden
