Artist s History Artist Brock K. Green is a native of St. Louis, MO. His interest in jewelry comes from his youth, traveling in the American Southwest as well as living in Argentina and Chile. He has been an artist all his life using various media, but has found that sterling silver, gold and platinum are his favorites. All pieces are individually handmade and solid. Each of the pendants and bracelets are signed and numbered. Brock also does custom designs, stone setting, and repair work. A graduate of Principia College with a degree in Spanish and a special focus in jewelry design, Brock currently owns Silver & Shine. Additionally, Brock is a United States Professional Tennis Association teaching pro and on the Head/Penn Advisory Staff. Brock is a martial arts instructor and member of the Black Belt staff at the USA Martial Arts Academy in Eureka. He also teaches and coaches at Principia High School and is a juried member of The Best of Missouri Hands. Since 1998, Brock has worked and taught at Camps Leelanau and Kohahna in northern Michigan where he is the Silversmithing Director. Some notable owners of BKG jewelry include former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, actor Val Kilmer and singer/songwriter John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival. 1
Artist s Statment Each of my designs is an expression of the many layers in my life. Inspiration comes from my Faith, family, friends and travels. I love sitting on the beach and seeing the timeless, yet everchanging effects of the waves. I have been surrounded by the magic found deep in the rain forests of Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil, and the mountainous reaches of the South American Andes. I was born and raised in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Additionally, I have spent many summers on the Sleeping Bear Dunes in northern Michigan. All of these locations are rich in sound and color and bring strength to my work. My whole life is variety and that is how I like to make my jewelry. Whether it is sterling, gold, platinum, glass or gems, each piece expresses my appreciation of grace, principle and a desire to grow. 2
