Welcome to the Columbia-Willamette Faceters Guild 42nd Fundraising Gemstone & Jewelry Auction Fundraiser Proceeds from our auction are used to promote the educational goals of the Guild and to help ensure the preservation of the art of faceting. Hors d oeuvres, refreshments and cash bar are available for your enjoyment, compliments of the Columbia-Willamette Faceters Guild Preview of auction items begins at 5:30 pm Auction begins at 7:00 pm Raffles are open to everyone Silent and Live auction bidding require registration with address and contact information (this information is confidential and will not be shared or released) Raffles and Silent Auctions will be announced during break Please be sure to register so that you will be eligible to bid on all auctioned items. Each registered bidder will be issued a number for bidding and for recording sales. CONDITIONS OF SALE Bidding will be by registered bidders only The auctioneer has the right to reject any bid, to advance the bidding at his absolute discretion and in the event of any dispute between bidders, to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the disputed lot after the regular sale. Final Bid means the highest bid acknowledged by the auctioneer and the purchase price will be the final bid. Any lot not sold during the regular bidding may be re-offered for bid at the end of the auction. Columbia-Willamette Faceters Guild record of final sale shall be conclusive. No lot may be removed from the premises until the buyer has paid the purchase price in full. All items are sold AS-IS. Accordingly, all lots should be viewed personally by prospective buyers to evaluate the condition and quality of the items offered for sale. Columbia- Willamette Faceters Guild expresses no warranty as to the condition of any lot offered for sale and no statement made at any time, whether oral or written, shall constitute such a warranty or representation. Bidding on any item indicates your acceptance of these terms, and all other terms announced at the time of sale. DOOR PRIZES / RAFFLES / CLOSED & SILENT AUCTIONS You must be present to win! DOOR PRIZES: Numerous door prizes will be drawn during the auction. Be sure to write your name on the ticket and place it in the Door Prize jar. RAFFLES: You may purchase raffle tickets for drawings on synthetic (lab-created) gems, natural gems or gems of uncertain origin. Write your name on any purchased ticket(s) and place ticket(s) in the jar(s) of your choice. CLOSED SILENT AUCTION: Write your BIDDER #, name and BID on a card and place in the jar provided for the item that is the object of your bid. You may bid as many times as you wish. The highest bid shall determine the successful purchaser. If more than one bid of the same amount is deemed highest, then the first card with that bid drawn from the box shall prevail. You must be present when the bids are announced in order to qualify as the highest bidder. OPEN SILENT AUCTION: Write your BIDDER #, name and bid on the next available line on the bidding sheet for each item selected. Each successive bid must be higher than the one before by designated increments IN WHOLE DOLLARS. You must be present when the bids are announced in order to qualify as the highest bidder. JEWELRY SETTINGS and GEMS All settings are STERLING SILVER unless otherwise specified in this catalog. Gems are considered NATURAL unless otherwise noted as SYNTHETIC (SYN). In the catalog, (SYN) describes both gems made from material not found in natural gemstone rough and gems made from material that is found in natural gemstone rough but in this case was manmade. Whenever possible, acknowledgements have been given to the faceter, designer and the person donating the gem for the auction. We are grateful for the spirit of generosity that produced so many beautifully faceted gemstones. Unfortunately, many gemstones are donated without complete documentation. The auction committee apologizes for any names or credit that may have been inadvertently omitted. 4
