MASTER OF SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL LUXURY MANAGEMENT LUXURY INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT

My academic and professional experience in luxury retail and digital marketing have taught me that succeeding within the luxury industries requires much more than just passion and determination. I am confident that our innovative curriculum and signature IFM approach to management will prepare our graduates to become the luxury leaders of tomorrow. Brad Fujimoto, Head of MSc International Luxury Management Program #3 Fashion school in the world (Business of Fashion 2016 ranking) The MSc Luxury is a 15-month graduate program delivered entirely in English. Its objective is to prepare a small group of select students to pursue their careers on an international level, within the worldwide headquarters, regional head offices, or national subsidiaries of French or other global luxury companies. This program draws upon IFM s signature strength in training young professionals to master the delicate balance between management & design in the creative industries. It gives students: - a strong foundation in management skills as applied specifically to the luxury sector: marketing, strategy and operations for international markets, with a particular emphasis on distribution and retail management - the keys to understand and leverage brand value: luxury branding, communication and digital strategies - a profound knowledge of creation: culture of fashion, design and luxury, understanding of the creative process, comprehension of the importance of quality and savoir-faire (know-how) in the luxury industry Students will also develop the skills to understand the French touch through historical and contemporary references. They will learn French in order to accelerate their preparedness for future internships or careers in France and their immersion into the French culture, and to optimize networking with French students and alumni. A rich academic year spent in the heart of Paris, with a particular focus upon leadership and professional development in a highly multicultural environment, will give participants a key competitive advantage as they pursue their careers. This program has the active support of companies including Chanel, Chloé, Christian Dior, Hermès, Kenzo, L Oréal Luxe, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent Paris who participate in the program during the academic year through workshops, business cases, and conferences. The program includes a six-month internship, providing invaluable hands-on business experience in Paris or abroad. KEY FEATURES «Knowledge of the luxury and fashion industry value chains, from raw materials and production techniques, to merchandising, marketing strategies and brand image, is priceless. This knowledge base has served as a competitive advantage to me while pursing my career path. I had very high expectations, and the MSc in International Luxury Management program at IFM definitely lived up to them.» Erica Persson, Class of 2015, Sweden International Menswear Press Officer, Louis Vuitton, Paris Prototype not for sale Coat by Lazar Cuckovic Couture, Needle punch by Anne Kluytenaar, Interlining by Freudenberg. CURRICULUM The 15-month Program begins in September and runs full-time until early June. This period of study is followed by an internship of 6 months. ECTS credits: 75 credits (including 15 credits for the internship). The rigorous 9 months on campus consist of a mix of lectures, workshops, real business cases with partner companies and study tours. Language classes (80 hours) French courses are offered in partnership with the Alliance française Paris Ile-de- France, France s leader in foreign language education located only two steps away from the Jardin du Luxembourg. Classes are offered in small groups and focus on French language within the fashion industry as well as speaking skills. Workshops and business cases «Since its creation in 1986, IFM has been considered as one of the best fashion design and fashion management schools.» Vogue, September 2, 2015 - The Act of Creation workshop kicks off the year, with IFM Designers, Managers and Entrepreneurs working together in interdisciplinary teams. - Real business cases require students to apply the knowledge that they have acquired during the program and to present their strategic conclusions directly to the executive teams of the partner companies (Chloé, Condé Nast, Dior, Dom Pérignon, L Oréal... ). Thanks to the strong IFM network, each student will have the opportunity to exchange with approximately 70 industry professionals throughout the year, thereby helping them to broaden their own professional contacts. INTERNSHIP Students complete a six-month internship, starting as of June, with coaching by IFM s Career Services Department. Students have the opportunity to complete their work placement in Paris or abroad, often within one of the companies supporting this program, including Chanel, Christian Dior, Hermès, Kenzo, L Oréal Luxe, Louis Vuitton And also with companies such as Acne Studios, Alexander Wang, Chalhoub Group, chloé, givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Max Mara, Prada, Proenza Schouler, Rick Owens, Tag Heuer, Tommy Hilfiger PLACEMENT Professional opportunities for graduates of this program are primarily related to international business development, helping to meet the needs of luxury brands as they continue reinforcing their presence across global markets. Other career paths include consulting, wholesale and buying management, digital, CRM and visual merchandising. On average, 90% of the graduating class secures full time employment within 6 months of completing the program. CAREER SERVICES For the past 30 years IFM has developed a very strong network of recruiting companies and has been following closely the career paths of its alumni. IFM s Career Services Department leverages this experience to advise students on job lines and opportunities, offer career guidance and connect them with potential recruiters. Graduates benefit from a strong alumni network, a constantly updated database and connections in France and abroad. «At IFM, I learned that luxury comes from everywhere, from the workers, the factories, the culture, the history and it translates into the design, the brand. IFM has given me a deep understanding of how to translate all those aspects into a brand strategy.» Daniela Soto Beltran, Class of 2015, Mexico.
