Treatment Protocol Probes Insulated Probes Sterex - Green Box Teflon coated Pro-Tec Blue Box ISO Teflon coated Fine capillaries / Cherry Hemangiomas Milia / Sebaceous Hyperplasia / Cholesterol Deposit Sun/Age Spots Non-Insulated Sterex - Gold Box Gold plated Pro-Tec Gold Box Stainless steel Skin Tags Hard nodules that are difficult to penetrate Areas that do not need protection Scratching Protocol add WATER/conductor - sweeping action w/probe and keep foot pedal on at all times. Pigmented Lesions using the probe like a sweeping broom and apply a hash tag or tic-tac-toe pattern do not go below the epidermis stay on top of the top layer of the skin (light application) Tapping Protocol NO WATER tapping the probe on the epidermis and keeping foot pedal on at all times Capillaries tap vigorously along surface do not break skin - do not drag probe - start at smaller end of capillary and work towards bigger end Skin tags spray tag with water (for conductivity) tap vigorously along the base of the tag - only where the skin tag is attached to the skin - hold onto the tag with your tweezers in one hand and using your other hand; utilize your gold (non-insulated) probe - stay above the surface, parallel to skin; don t go below skin s surface - bend probe to 45 degree angle (if needed to avoid penetrating below the skin s surface) - the skin tag will appear to dry up into a hard calloused piece of skin. After all of the water has been deleted from the tag it can either be left alone to fall off in a few days or be cut off with a sterile pair of scissors. If any bleeding occurs you can use your probe to cauterize the area until bleeding stops. Tapping technique is removing all of the water and fat, leaving only the salt; which results in a dry solid salt-like particle. An example would be like cooking a raw egg white and after the treatment turning the egg white into a hard-boiled egg. Insertion Protocol inserting probe first and then stepping on the pedal (use insulated probe Green Box) Thermolysis (hair epilation) - Insert probe duplicating the direction that the hair is protruding out of the follicle (NO current), step on pedal once @ 40 volts for 1-3 seconds, release and pull out probe. Repeat again if hair does not release. Use sterile tweezers to lift hair out of follicle. Milia Insert probe at 45-degree angle insert probe step on pedal for 3-5 seconds and repeat 3-4 times in a circular pattern. Remove with sterile tweezer, push sebum out or use comedone extractor.

Treatment Tips Sun/Age spot reduction - Treat sun/age spots 3mm in size or smaller (larger spots should be seen by a Dermatologist) Make sure you take the time to go through the ABCDE factor (see below) Use water on the area (spray or Q-Tip), water based gel (ultra-sound gel) or topical skin desensitizer Use LO current (100 v) or less on Asian skin which is thinner use 90-95v Do not penetrate the skin touch the probe on top of the epidermis and allow the current to cauterize the capillary Apply a "HASH TAG" or "TIC-TAC-TOE) pattern on the lesion leaving good skin in between your scratches Look for a darkening of the skin (coffee ground look) Wait 5-10 minutes after treatment to make sure you have accomplished goal Healing time is 7-14 days (do not use anything on treated area for 24 hours A B C D E DO NOT TREAT when the following is present: A. Asymmetry: does the mole have an irregular shape? B. Border: is the border of the mole ragged, blurred or uneven? C. Color: does the mole have more than one color (i.e. a darker spot in the middle of lighter pigment)? D. Diameter: is the mole bigger than 6mm? E. Evolution: has the mole changed in size, shape or color? Skin Tag removal - Treat skin tags 2mm in size or smaller (larger skin tags should be seen by a Dermatologist) Insertion technique Insert into skin / Use NON insulated probe/needle Use water on the area (spray or Q-Tip) Use HI current (200v) - push bottom button twice to HI Leave probe on the skin and sizzle it until the soft skin tag turns hard (I.e. turning a grape into a raisin) Keep treating until the skin tag is completely shriveled up or comes off with treatment You do not have to remove the skin tag, as it will fall of in 4-7 days (if treated properly) Healing time is 7-14 days (use anti-biotic like Bacitracin or PolySporin
Treatment Tips - continued Capillary reduction - Treat capillaries 1mm in size or smaller (larger capillaries should be seen by a Dermatologist) no legs No water on the area - No topical on the skin make sure area is completely clean with alcohol or astringent Use LO current - push bottom button (100v) or less on ethnic or older skin which is thinner use 90-95v Do not penetrate the skin but lay the probe on top of the epidermis and allow the current to cauterize the capillary Look for blanching and then wait 5-10 minutes after treatment to make sure you have completely removed the red Healing time is 7-14 days (do not use anything on treated area for 24 hours Cholesterol Deposit reduction - Treat cholesterol deposits 2mm in size or smaller (larger skin tags should be seen by a Dermatologist) No water and make sure skin is completely clean Use LO current (100v) - push bottom button Tap probe on the skin and with the goal of drying up sebum stay in the epidermis Make a small opening with tweezer or lancet Push out rancid sebum with comedone extractor or back of tweezers Healing time is 14-28 days if needed use anti-biotic like Bacitracin or PolySporin
Treatment Tips - continued Milia removal - Insertion technique Insert into skin @ 45 degree angle / Use insulated probe/needle No water on the area Use LO current (100v) - push bottom button Insert probe into the skin with no energy @ 45 degree angle (avoid penetrating into the dermis) Step on pedal for 3-5 seconds (look for white blanching) and repeat 3-4 times in a circular pattern Remove with sterile tweezer, push sebum out or use comedone extractor Healing time is 14-28 days if needed use anti-biotic like Bacitracin or PolySporin Sebaceous Hyperplasia reduction - No water and make sure skin is completely clean Use LO current (100v) - push bottom button Tap probe on the skin and with the goal of drying up sebum stay in the epidermis Look for whitening like a raw egg white cooking into a hard white egg white Healing time is 14-28 days if needed use anti-biotic like Bacitracin or PolySporin
Treatment Consultation VI. Consultation Radio Frequency (RF) treatments explained Consent form presented After and Home CARE explained Address downtime and realistic expectations. Let client know it is a possibility that it could be a full week of downtime. Thinner skin could take longer. Process more than 1 treatment/visit may be necessary you may not be able to eliminate all in one visit Identify/Qualify what you are treating. Example: stay away from moles and warts. o Consent form reviewed and signed o Differentiate moles from skin lesions o Mole vs. skin tag mole solid, attached all the way around; skin tag attached at one small place o DO NOT treat moles without a doctors permission o DO NOT do warts!! Viral and can spread easily o Schedule ample time to do treatment no hurry up be relaxed or do not do treatment!! o Suggested Pricing $50 office visit - Average about $600-hour - $300-½ hour - $150-15 minutes - or $50 minimum (includes up to 5 cherry hemangiomas or 2 skin tags $25 per skin tag (small to average size) $10 per cherry hemangioma (small to average size) Treatment Techniques Scratching Sun/age spots (apply water on treated area will increase conductivity) Tapping Red veins, cherry hemangiomas, acne, etc. Inserting Hair Removal / epilation milia skin tags Pre-Treatment Clean with Baby Wipes Alcohol or an astringent Make sure to remove all oils (w/alcohol, Bactine, Witch Hazel, Sea Breeze) Identify what is to be treated aesthetic or medical (Medical Directro) Qualify if it is something that can be treated properly Topical de-sensitizer or anesthetic If you plan to use topical anesthetic (LMX available over the counter) be aware that blood vessels may constrict Use topical on tiny nose veins (inside and out) and on lip liner where capillaries are evident Do not leave topical on area more than 10 minutes and then thoroughly cleanse area before treating (capillaries) During: See above treatment tips above Post Treatment Options - Bacitracin (best choice), Neosporin, Polysporin, Caladryl lotion and/or ice (bagged) Kleenex as patient may sneeze or have watery eyes and nose Do not cover, let dry naturally and then leave alone do not pick area!!!!! Leave alone for 24 hours with only the above options applied to skin Goal is to have treated area dry up Makeup okay after 24 hours Remind patient that they will look bad for a few days..2 nd day will look worse Be careful of thinner skin - 5-10 days downtime - treatment may be too strong for thin skin and can hypo-pigment. Skin can dull the probe; change probe during treatment if treatment becomes less effective. When in doubt (about whether or not to treat), don t be afraid to refuse treatment or refer patient to a medical doctor or Dermatologist. Remember ThermoLo only treats cosmetic procedures, not medical.
