The cloisonné enamel vases of baluster shape, each worked with gilt wire richly decorated with floral designs, unsigned, 31 / 25cm H; a pair of satsuma vases of squat pear-shape with long slender necks, the bodies decorated in enamels and gilt with sparrows flying against a blue sky beneath swirling bands of shippo patterns on the necks, signed Dai Nippon Taizan saku, 25cm H, and a pair of sake cups decorated with port views, 9.2cm D. 20th Century. 9.5 x 11cm. 陶器置物 雄鶏銘渓山 20 世紀 Kato Keizan I (1886-1963) was born in Tajimi, Gifu prefecture and moved to Kyoto to open a kiln in Gojozaka in 1912. He specialised in Longquan-style celadon ceramics, often referred to as "tenryuji seiji, with the majority of his work replicating the style of Yuan and Ming Dynasty China. His works are represented in the collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto. 45 A GROUP OF WOODBLOCK PRINTS BY EISEN AND OTHERS. Three oban tate-e, by Eizan, each depicting a standing courtesan from various series, two framed oban yoko-e by Toyokuni III showing from the Chushingura series, and a print from the prince Genji series by Kunisada II. (3) 木版画月岡芳年 松亭 漆原 5 点 48 TWO PRINTS BY LILIAN MILLER AND ONE BY PAUL JACOULET. 20th Century. 256.20 Two woodblock prints by Lilian Miller, each showing a Korean scholar, and one small print by Paul Jacoulet, subtitled La Cruche, Mongolie, depicting a Mongolian lady carrying a water jar on her shoulder, all framed and glazed, the largest 22 x 18 cm. (3) 49 木版画三枚 ポール. ジャコレー リリアン. ミラー SIX FRAMED PRINTS BY KOSON AND KOGYO. 20th century. 390.40 Four chu-tanzaku prints by Koson, depicting flying geese, carp in the water, a cockerel and chicks, Mount Fuji and a sailing boat; together with two shikishi format prints, sailing boats by Koson and quails and the moon by Kogyo. Comprising a back, front and inside panel, finely woven in the split weave technique with five-clawed dragons amongst clouds in gold and silver thread on blue silk ground, the largest 128 x 98cm.
