Soaks/Just Add Soaks/Just Add Soaks Jewelry Facts and Frequently Asked Questions Soaks are a Pink Zebra fragrance category that allows you to create your own fragrance with our Just Add Soaks home décor, personal care and jewelry lines. Soaks fragrances can be used individually or layered with other fragrances to create a new fragrance your very own Fragrance Recipe. All Just Add Soaks products can be re-soaked for a fresh blast of fragrance. How do I use Soaks? Soaks are applied to Just Add Soaks absorbent products like Soaks Mobile (Go-Cards, Hang-Its, Clip- Its), Naked Reeds, Woolies, Bobble Bodies, Nakeds, Lotion and Jewelry. Soaks Mobile including Go-Cards, Hang-Its and Clip-Its are mobile air fresheners ready to accept your personal blend of Soaks fluid for your on-the-go and small space fragrance needs. Apply up to 2 squirts of Soaks liquid directly to the Just Add Soaks product on a protected surface or inside a plastic bag. Do NOT oversoak to prevent the Soaks liquid from dripping onto other surfaces and avoid direct contact with all surfaces including car surfaces. Reapply in the same manner to refresh as needed. Fragrance will typically remain acceptable for a range of a few days to one week depending on environment and personal fragrance strength preference. Naked Reeds are our re-sealable Pink Zebra Reed Diffusers (natural sticks in a bottle of liquid fragrance) in a dry form that you add your Soaks liquid to. The Naked Reeds contain a re-usable cap so it can be shaken (after tightening the cap) to maximize fragrance absorption. Add up to one bottle of Soaks Fragrance or blend a combination to create your own fragrance recipe. Woolies are decorative pieces of decorative fabric and natural wood. The wool is ready to accept your personal blend of Soaks fluid. Woolies cannot be washed. The fragrance will evaporate over time to allow you an opportunity to Soak with a completely new Fragrance. Do NOT oversoak to prevent the Soaks liquid from dripping onto other surfaces. Bobble Bodies whimsically bob to the touch. They are dressed in decorative fabrics to Just Add Soaks. Nakeds are beautiful, hand-made, natural decorative pieces prepared to absorb Soaks liquid fragrance and provide your small space with unique décor and provide fragrance simultaneously. Lotion allows you to personalize your own signature scent by adding up to 2 generous squirts of Soaks liquid to the unscented lotion. Be sure to vigorously SHAKE WELL before applying. The lotion is enriched with aloe vera, vitamins, oils and shea butter. It is free of sulfates and parabens. Jewelry is our newest Just Add Soaks category. Our custom jewelry comes in a range of styles to suit multiple preferences. The trend-setting designs are hand crafted from heavy, durable mixed metals and other materials. They have a leather inlay that is prepared for your favorite Soaks fluid. The soakable area is surrounded by substantial metal to protect clothing and skin from coming into direct contact with the Soaks fragrance. Each jewelry piece arrives in a beautiful Pink Zebra logo cloth bag. Important things to remember about adding Soaks to the Jewelry Line are: 1. Never add Soaks liquid while wearing the jewelry. 2. Apply 1-2 squirts of Soaks to the leather inlay ONLY on each soakable jewelry piece. 3. Avoid contact with any surface. One option is to put a thick paper towel, etc. under the jewelry, but do not Soak the jewelry while it is in the cloth pouch. 4. Wipe off any excessive Soaks fragrance by blotting (do not rub). 5. Allow liquid to absorb before wearing. 6. When you aren t wearing your beautiful jewelry pieces, store them in the cloth pouch that they arrive in. 7. Just Add Soaks Jewelry is not washable. To change fragrances, simply let the soakable inset dry completely to allow the scent to evaporate. Some fragrances may take extra time to evaporate completely before applying a new fragrance. Can I clean the jewelry? No. Since the material is a suede it is not recommended at this time to attempt to clean the suede to remove fragrance. May I rub the suede area after applying Soaks? No. You should only blot as you may discolor the suede if rubbed. Can I add another fragrance once this wears off? Yes. As the fragrance dries, you will find that you may add another fragrance(s) to your jewelry. What type of material is our Jewelry made of? Our jewelry is made to be rich in quality using leather, zinc alloy, suede, and glass. How long does the fragrance last on the jewelry? This can vary based on the fragrance since each oil fragrance has different components but our testing found that using the recommended squirts the fragrance lasted at normal strength for 3-4 days. Is it normal for the suede to darken when Soaks are applied? Yes, but you may see it lighten back up as the Soaks dry. May I add other brands fragrance or essential oils to my Jewelry? No. Our Jewelry has been designed to perform the best when only using our Soaks products. Does Pink Zebra do any independent testing? Yes. All Jewelry is tested for the following by independent testing labs: Lead content in metal substrates and surface coatings. All Pink Zebra products (including jewelry) adhere to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. The CPSIA regulations set standards for trace lead levels in products intended for children and adults. Cadmium content in metal and plastic components. Cadmium, like Lead targets many of the body s systems. Pink Zebra complies with strict State of California, Prop 65 regulations regarding trace levels of Cadmium in metals and plastics. Nickel release from metals is tested to ASTM F2999-14 standards. It is estimated that 10-20% of the population has a dermal sensitivity to prolonged, direct contact with nickel releasing metals. Pink Zebra tests all metal components used in our jewelry products for nickel migration to the skin. Are Soaks blendable? Yes, all 26 Soaks are blendable and can be mixed with each other. We encourage you to make your own recipes. Are Air Care+ Soaks blendable? Yes, you can mix together Air Care + with other Soaks, but we recommend that you keep it pure if what you want is to clean the air. Can Soaks be applied directly to skin? Soaks are not designed to be applied to directly to skin as some people could have a reaction to certain fragrances. Soaks are not water soluble and should also not be combined with water in the bath, a squirt bottle, a vaporizer, etc. Small incidental skin contact will not cause any reaction in most people. How does Air Care+ work? Air Care+ Soaks combines with common malodors such as smoke, pet, and kitchen odors on a molecular level. The resulting fragrance accord does not stimulate the original malodor olfactory receptor types in the nose in other words, bad smells won t seem as bad. How much Soaks do I use on a PZ Go-Card? About 2 squirts will be enough to load the Go-Card with fragrance. How long you wait to refresh it is a matter of personal taste, but most of us refresh it once a week. How much Soaks do I use in the Naked Reeds? One bottle of Soaks was designed to fill a Naked Reed bottle, but we encourage you to not use one whole bottle and instead blend other Soaks to create your own fragrance. Naked Reeds will also work with smaller amounts if you just want to experiment with your own fragrance blend, or if you like to change your fragrance more often. Does the Pink Zebra product/packaging contain BPA? What is BPA, and why is it harmful? No, they do not. All Pink Zebra products use only BPA-free plastics. BPA (bishenol A) is a chemical used in the manufacture of some plastics, mainly polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is a hard, clear plastic used in items such as CDs, eyeglass lenses, skylights and other glass substitutes. Baby bottles and toys made from polycarbonate may leach BPA, which is suspected 2 to be a hormone disruptor. Many manufacturers have switched from polycarbonate to HDPE or PET plastics for children's products. Which Pink Zebra at Home products are made in the USA? All Pink Zebra at Home Sprinkles, Soaks, lotions, and diffusers are made in the USA. What happens if I drink my soaks? It will taste terrible. DO NOT DRINK SOAKS. No aspiration hazard. Formulated under strict CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) guidelines to avoid aspiration hazard if accidentally swallowed. Aspiration hazard occurs when the lungs are flooded by certain types of liquids that move through the lung walls. Drink lots of water and seek medical attention if nausea is persistent. Does combustible mean they also can't be kept in a hot car? Soaks are car safe. For combustible to be unsafe. The material must go above its flashpoint and then come in contact with an open flame. Soaks have a flashpoint between 175F and 200F+ depending on the fragrance and a typical car interior would not get this hot. Can Go-Cards be used in vacuums and air conditioning or/furnace filters? Soaked Go-Cards can be used in any household filter, vent or car vent. It is not recommended putting one near the open flame of a furnace. Updated 10/2016 4
What is the average number of times a card can withstand soaking? If for instance a Go Card could be refreshed 50 times and each application lasted a week it would take one year to know that answer. To date we have not been able to test for one year but have several Go-Cards in our labs being tested, however the Go-Card will become aesthetically unpleasant before any functionality came into play. Does Soaks contain alcohol? No, Soaks do not contain any alcohol. Can you use Soaks in a Simmering Light or Simmering Pot dish? No, it is not recommended as the temperature in in both warmer types is too hot for Soaks. What happens if I put Air Care+ on my dog s collar? Soaks are not made for skin application. People, children, and pets are all individuals and have varying degrees of irritation to fragrance products. Soaks Air Care+ is more appropriate out of reach of pets but still in the room where pet odors are a problem. What will Soaks do to fabric? Soaks contain no dyes, but we build Soaks fragrances from 6,000 available raw materials. This ingredient variety results in subtle color differences among the different Soaks fragrances from water 3 white to amber colors. During in-house testing, fabrics were not damaged from Soaks spills except for some of the darker Soaks fragrances causing some everyday staining that would be washable. What happens if I put Soaks Air Care+ directly in my child s tennis shoes? As mentioned above, Soaks is not made for skin application. Inside a shoe could come into contact with the skin, but depending on the shoe there may be some external components that are isolated from the skin.
