Parisian Demoscene The Demoscene is an art movement focused on animations generated in real-time called demos. This art form is born with the video games back in the 80s, and both evolved together. By producing demos, the artists show both their aesthetic and technical skills. They regularly meet in festivals to show their creations, exchange on the latest techniques, and have a drink together. Some of these demosceners live in or nearby Paris. Although there is no formal organization, the Parisian Demoscene collectively runs two events: Shader Showdowns - friendly competitions between artists who create live visuals on stage Cookie - a digital arts festival with demos, interactive installations, experimental video games, and short films, along with talks and workshops.
