Autumn Bliss Aromatherapy treatment For mature, dry, sun damaged and sensitive skin. This seasonal treatment contains the restorative, spiced, earthy and citrus scents of lemon, macadamia, lemongrass and coriander. It supports skin regeneration and lifts the mood. For this treatment you will need: DMS Cleansing milk Hydrating Face Tonic Peeling cream Autumn Super Serum Repair-Recover-Replenish (3 ml) Eye cream Vitamin cream mask Aroma concentrate No. 4 DMS Massage cream Macadamia Oil High Classic Ingredient information: Aroma Concentrate No 4 is an excellent essential oil blend for autumn. It lifts the mood and boosts confidence. The blend features bitter orange, lemongrass and coriander oil: Coriander Oil (stimulating, uplifting) Coriander essential oil was highly valued by the ancient Egyptians because of its sweet and woody-spicy aroma that stimulates, warms and is mildly euphoric in action.
Bitter Orange Oil & Lemongrass Oil (reviving, revitalising) These popular essential oils have a lovely cheering and refreshing property. Both oils are helpful in maintaining a healthy circulatory system and assists the elimination of toxins. Macadamia Nut Oil (moisturising, restorative) This essential oil is excellent for repairing dry, brittle and sensitive skin. Its fatty acid composition is similar to that of human sebum, so it s very well tolerated even by the most sensitive of skins. Macadamia Oil is extremely smoothing, softening and regenerating to the skin. In addition to its use in skin care, it is great for the care of brittle and dry hair. As it does not have a significant amount of Linoleic acid, we recommend blending it with oils rich in Linoleic acid such as evening primrose and rosehip oil for increased barrier repair. Essential Oils Essential oils are chemically complex and volatile. Simply by inhaling their scent can be beneficial. They travel through the olfactory system and into the limbic system in the brain. The limbic system supports many functions including behaviour, emotions and memories. Essential Oils have been shown to support harmonisation of both brain hemispheres which results in feelings of calmness and relaxation. The small size of the molecules and the bioavailability also allows essential oils to easily penetrate the skin. Essential Oils are absorbed into the bloodstream, integrate into cell membranes and affect cells enzymes and receptors, thus, influencing important endogenous processes of nutrient and waste exchange. In general, when using essential oils in massage treatments, up to 1% dosage (about 2 drops per 10 ml carrier oil or emulsion) is advised. Please don t use essential oils directly on the face, as many are photo sensitisers. Clinical procedure: Preparation Prepare for the treatment with the room setting. As we use Macadamia oil and a citrusy essential oil blend in this treatment, decorate the room with some twigs from the Macadamia tree (available from many florists) and a bowl with fresh lemons and oranges including their leaves.
Put a few drops of aroma concentrate No 4 in a diffuser to aromatise the entire treatment room. If you don t have a diffuser, add the oils to a small spray bottle with a little water and mist around the room and the bed or simply fill a bowl with freshly boiled water and then add your essential oil blend. The aroma molecules will disperse through the room with the evaporating steam. The best way to increase the cosy atmosphere would be to customise your own aromatherapy candle. Start with an unscented soy or beeswax candle and then add the essential oil blend into the melting wax. If you have a hot towel cabinet, infuse a few drops of the essential oil into the water before you wet the towels. Keep warm in the cabinet. Clients love the application of hot towels during the treatment. Please note that dermaviduals aroma concentrates are highly concentrated and effective, so a little goes a long way. Use wisely and only use a small amount; too much can cause headaches. Stop burning your oils after about 10-15 minutes. The scent will linger on. Prepare a little tray with some macadamia biscuits and fresh nuts and offer your client a hydrating, warming herbal tea. You might want to offer the tea at the end of the treatment. Too much fluid intake by the client prior to treatment might interrupt the treatment flow. Adequate hydration helps the skin from the inside to stay plump and beautiful. Especially delicious in the colder season is a tea infusion with lemon, ginger and chilli. It warms the body with subtle spiciness from the inside, fights cold symptoms and provides much needed internal hydration. Recipe: Lemon, ginger and chilli infusion Coarsely chop a piece of ginger (2-3 cm, skin and all); blend with the juice of one lemon, 4tsp of honey and add a dash of chopped red chilli (without seeds). Bring water to boil and mix with juice. Cover for 10 15 minutes to allow ingredients to infuse. Strain and keep warm.
Treatment protocol: 1. Begin the treatment with a relaxing aromatherapy massage of the upper back, neck and shoulder for approx. 5 min with the client seated on a massage chair or chair with a low back. Client needs to wear a shoulder free gown or towel. 2. Dispense a full pump of massage cream into a small bowl; blend with 3 drops of aroma concentrate No. 4. Warm aroma massage cream in the palm of your hands and apply over the entire upper back area. Perform massage. This warming massage will set the right mood. When the massage is finished, tissue off excess product and ask the client to move to the treatment bed for the facial. 3. Perform an initial cleanse using DMS Cleansing milk. Dispense a small amount, approximately a 10c piece into the palm of the hands. Rub hands together to warm product and create a creamy emulsion. Proceed with your cleansing routine. Remove the cleanser with a warm No.4 infused towel (if you have a hot towel cabinet) or a moist fibrella and pat dry with tissues. 4. Moisten 2 x cotton rounds with the Face Tonic, gently wipe over entire face to enhance penetration of actives and increased hydration. 5. Dispense 10 ml (use blue spoon to measure) of peeling cream into the palm of your hands and apply evenly to face, neck and décolletage. Very gently, using circular motions, work the cream in until it s nearly absorbed. Loose, desquamating skin cells will stick to the tiny jojoba beads in the peeling cream. Perform gentle massage for about 6 min. Tissue off excess product. 6. Perform a second cleanse with DMS cleansing milk to get rid of the jojoba beads and desquamating cells. 7. Repeat Step 4. Blend 3ml of the Autumn Super Serum in a small bowl. Apply with fingertips to client s skin and gently press in. Don t rub.
8. Apply eye cream around client s eyes and cover with cotton pads. Soak pads in Face Tonic; drain excess liquid before applying to eyes. 9. Dispense a full pump (Cabinet size) of Vitamin cream mask into a small bowl. Apply generously with a brush. Leave on for 20 min. 10. Once you have applied the mask, prepare the products for an aromatherapy foot massage. Dispense a full pump of DMS massage cream into a small bowl; add 5 ml of Macadamia nut oil and 3 drops of aroma concentrate No 4. 11. Use hand sanitiser on client s feet, followed by a warm towel to clean and prepare feet for massage. Wrap warm towel around each foot, leave for a short moment. Take towel off, immediately apply aroma massage cream. Perform massage. When you have finished with the first foot, wrap in towel to prevent cooling. Perform massage on second foot. Leave towels wrapped around clients until the end of the treatment. 12. Clean your hands with hand sanitiser and wash, before returning to the facial. 13. Don t take the Vitamin Cream mask off. Apply 2 ml of Macadamia oil into your palms and apply over the mask and evenly over the face, neck and décolletage. Adjust quantity according to treatment area. Proceed with your face massage protocol. 14. Remove excess product with warm towel. Repeat step 4 and dry skin with tissue. Apply High Classic base cream in a thin layer to finish the treatment. 15. Serve client the Macadamia biscuits, nuts and lemon, ginger, chilli infusion and recommend dermaviduals products and aroma concentrates to extend the spa feeling at home.
