There are 36 LEDs in the attachment, composed of 32 red LEDs and 4 infrared LEDs that illuminate when the device is turned on and placed on the skin. Please note, the infrared light is not visible to the naked eye. This means that the infrared LEDs will not appear to be on when in use. However, they are on whenever the red LEDs are illuminated. 1
IDEAL USER The Wrinkle Reducer is for anyone wanting to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR DEVICE 1. POWER ON/OFF BUTTON 2. INTENSITY CONTROL UP 3. The Wrinkle Reducer s unique technology flashes the LEDs to provide improved results. Use in a well-lit room if you find the flashing lights bothersome. 2. Firmly press the release button to remove or fasten the attachment. 3. When fastening a new treatment attachment, press the release button, guide the attachment in place (as pictured), and then release the button to secure the attachment to your NuFACE Trinity device. 4. For most devices, the +/- keys are not active when the Wrinkle Reducer is attached. If your device s +/- keys are active, increase the power so all five output lights are illuminated. 5. Test your skin to make sure you are not sensitive to light. To do so, place the Wrinkle Reducer on your forearm for 3 minutes and then check the area. If it turns red and lasts for more than 2 hours, your skin is sensitive to light and you should not use the Wrinkle Reducer. 2
6. Before treatment, take a photo of your cleansed face in a well-lit room to document your results. After treatment, take a photo of your face/problem areas. Every eight weeks, take another photo of your face in the same room with the same lighting at the same location. Compare results to previous weeks of treatment. USAGE INSTRUCTIONS INDICATIONS FOR USE The Wrinkle Reducer is an over-the-counter hand-held device intended for the treatment of full-face wrinkles. CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR USE Do not use if you have a history of seizures, especially if you have photosensitive epilepsy, as the pulsing light could induce seizures. Do not use on the neck if diagnosed with or suspect a thyroid problem. Do not use the Wrinkle Reducer if your skin is sensitive to light. People can be sensitive to light and not be aware of it. In addition, certain drugs or cosmetics can cause skin sensitivity, as well as other factors. See the Before Using Your Attachment section for directions to test your skin. Do not use over any suspicious or cancerous lesion consult your doctor. Do not use over topical or systemic steroids. Do not use if you are pregnant. Do not use on infants and children under the age of 14, and keep device and attachments out of the reach of children. 3
TREATMENT STEPS 1. Follow all of the steps indicated in the Before Using Your Attachment section. 2. Cleanse your face with an oil-free cleanser. Note: Do not use the NuFACE Gel Primer with the Wrinkle Reducer. The Gel Primer is for use with microcurrent devices/attachments only. 3. Remove your device from the charging cradle and turn it on by pressing the ON/OFF button. An ascending audible beep is emitted notifying you that your device is on, and the red LEDs will flash rapidly 3 times. Do not touch the Wrinkle Reducer shield until the unit has finished flashing. 4. Divide the face into 7 sections as pictured (Page 5). 5. Place the Wrinkle Reducer in direct contact with your clean, dry skin, over the area to be treated. Your Wrinkle Reducer has a skin sensor that will illuminate the red LEDs when in complete contact with your skin. Press firmly enough to keep the Wrinkle Reducer in direct contact with your skin. The device should be used on lines and wrinkles within the section, not specifically where the number appears on the photo. Treat each section for 3 minutes until beep sounds. 6. If the Wrinkle Reducer is not touching the skin, your device will emit 3 beeps notifying you to hold directly on your skin. 7. Your device will automatically shut off after 21 minutes indicating you are now finished with the treatment. 4
Section 1 LEFT Hold on areas of the left upper lip, lower lip and lower cheek/jowl. Section 2 Hold on areas of the left upper cheek. Section 3 Hold on areas of the left under eye area (orbital bone of the eye). DO NOT treat upper eyelid. Section 4 Hold on areas of the right upper lip, lower lip and lower cheek/jowl. Section 5 Hold on areas of the right upper cheek. Section 6 Hold on areas of the right under eye area (orbital bone of the eye). DO NOT treat upper eyelid. Section 7 Hold on areas across the forehead. RIGHT TREATMENT FREQUENCY Use no more than 3 minutes per area, up to 21 minutes a day for the entire face. Do not overlap areas. For the first 60 days, use 5 times per week. After 60 days, use 2-3 times per week for maintenance. Allow 24 hours between treatments. RESULTS It takes about 8 weeks to see the start of the reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some users see results in a shorter period of time, while others take longer. Results may vary based on skin type and skin damage. 5
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. Why do I hold the Wrinkle Reducer directly on my skin? To allow your skin to absorb as much light as possible. 2. Why does the Trinity Wrinkle Reducer flash? It flashes when it s in use to increase the efficacy of the treatment. The flash treatment is unique to NuFACE. If you re sensitive to the lights, you can wear goggles. You can purchase goggles from your local drugstore. 3. Why do some of the red LEDs look like they aren t on? Some of the LEDs are infrared, which are not visible to the naked eye. 4. How long will it take to see results? It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks to see the start of the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Some people see results in a shorter period of time, while others take longer. 5. What can I do to maintain results? Once you achieve your desired results, use the device 2-3 times per week for maintenance. 6. Can I use my favorite anti-aging creams or serums with my Wrinkle Reducer? Yes. 7. How long do the red LEDs last? The red LEDs are unique and are designed to last more than 25,000 hours. CARING FOR YOUR DEVICE TEMPERATURE SENSOR The Wrinkle Reducer will normally get warm during a treatment. A temperature sensor will turn the device off if the internal attachment temperature exceeds 129.5 F. Allow the device to cool for 30 minutes before reuse should this occur. CLEANING Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth and water or rubbing alcohol to clean the Wrinkle Reducer. Do not immerse in water at any time. 6
7 TROUBLESHOOTING If your Wrinkle Reducer is not turning on, please make sure all the below are true: The Wrinkle Reducer is completely attached to the device and fits snugly. Make sure to firmly press the release button when attaching and detaching the Wrinkle Reducer. The NuFACE Trinity device battery is fully charged. If not, please charge your device for a full 12 hours. The NuFACE Trinity device battery needs to be fully charged as the Wrinkle Reducer takes more power than the Facial Trainer Attachment (microcurrent). The Wrinkle Reducer is pressed completely to the skin, activating (or turning on) the LEDs. Remember, the Wrinkle Reducer has a skin sensor making the red LEDs turn on only when in complete contact with your skin. The Wrinkle Reducer has been allowed to self-calibrate. The attachment will automatically calibrate within the first few seconds of turning on the device. This is indicated by three rapid flashes of the red LEDs. Make sure you do not touch the Wrinkle Reducer while the device is calibrating. The gold connector board (as pictured) is clean. Avoid getting any gel, skin care products or dirt on the connector board. Should the connector board get dirty, we recommend wetting a cotton swab (not a cotton ball) with isopropyl alcohol to clean the face of the connector board, wipe dry, and then air dry for one hour before use. INTERNATIONAL USAGE The Wrinkle Reducer is compatible worldwide as it is connected to the worldwide compatible NuFACE Trinity device. IMPORTANT INFORMATION RISKS The risks and dangers of using the Wrinkle Reducer in any way that does not follow this User Manual may be unknown. Use the Wrinkle Reducer only as described within this User Manual. The Wrinkle Reducer was not tested for use over the eye socket or eyelid so the risks are unknown. PRECAUTIONS If using the device causes any discomfort, discontinue use immediately. Overuse of this device may result in dryness of the skin. Contact a doctor immediately if you suspect that you have had a negative reaction from using the Wrinkle Reducer. Do not store the attachment in the sun or on a hot surface. High temperature may be damaging. Do not disassemble the attachment as this may cause damage, malfunction, electrical shock, fire or injury. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Note: Disassembly voids the warranty. Do not operate in an environment where other devices, that intentionally radiate electromagnetic energy in an unshielded manner, are being used. Portable or mobile radio frequency communication equipment can affect medical electrical equipment. Failure to use and maintain the NuFACE Trinity Wrinkle Reducer in accordance with the instructions outlined in this manual will void the warranty. Always protect your skin from the sun. The sun may cause wrinkles and reduce the benefits of the Wrinkle Reducer. 8
Do not look directly into the Wrinkle Reducer s LEDs or shine in the eyes while in operation as this may cause you to see spots for a few moments. The skin sensor on the Wrinkle Reducer will help protect you from the lights as the Wrinkle Reducer must be in contact with the skin to activate the lights. WARNINGS Never operate this device if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or submerged in water. Never drop or insert any object into any openings on the device. Only use the power adapter provided with the NuFACE Trinity System. Do not scratch or damage the treatment attachment. Use of controls or adjustments, or performance of procedures other than those specified herein, may result in injury. Keep all electrical appliances (including NuFACE Trinity device and treatment attachments) away from water (including baths and showers). Do not use flammable aerosol products or oxygen near the device. If the NuFACE Trinity device begins to overheat, turn off immediately. Stop using the device immediately if you believe the device is malfunctioning. Return the device to Carol Cole Company for examination and repair. 9
WARRANTY The Carol Cole Company warrants that the NuFACE device and attachments are free of defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. This warranty is valid only in accordance with the conditions set forth below. Abnormal wear and tear, such as submersions and drops, are not covered by this warranty. This one (1) year warranty applies to consumer use only and is void when the product is used in a commercial or institutional setting. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser and is not transferable. In addition, proof of purchase must be demonstrated. This warranty is void if the product has been subject to accident, misuse, abuse, improper maintenance or repair, unauthorized modification, or any other use not found in the printed instructions. This limited warranty is the only written or expressed warranty given by the Carol Cole Company. Any implied warranties on the product (including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) are limited in duration to the duration of this warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Repair or replacement of the product is the exclusive remedy available to the consumer under this warranty. The Carol Cole Company shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages for breach of this warranty or any implied warranty on this product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. PROCEDURE FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENT If warranty service is necessary, the original purchaser must contact the Carol Cole Company for warranty service instructions.
