Colors for spring 2106. Below is the chart of the forecasted colors for this spring. You will notice the colors are soft and muted. Nothing is extremely bright or bold. That s not to say in this spring and summer you can t still wear bold colors (I still will) with white jeans and such. However, the colors are trending softer this year. A Case for the Cold Shoulder. This trend emerged late last spring, but now it s a really big deal. From slit shoulder seams to off the shoulder sundresses & tops-the shoulders are having there moment. Show off yours. STYLE TIP: Join in on this trend! The good news is the shoulders don t show signs of aging as much a the cleavage or legs do. So, show off a little bit of shoulder and enjoy wearing this fun trend. Psst! Don t forget the sunscreen. WHAT WAS ON THE SPRING RUNWAY:
HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND: No need to bare it all! Choose to show off your sassy shoulders with the trendy cold-shoulder top. Showing a little skin always is pleasing... Similar: Amour Vert "Arden" Cold Shoulder Top
White Shirt-Refreshed. Once borrowed from the boys, the white buttondown shirt now belongs to us gals. Buttoned up, ruffled, open cold shoulders, and in stretch fabric, this staple has plenty of new twists that make them one of your new must-haves for spring! WHAT WAS ON THE SPRING RUNWAY:
HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND: Wearing a crisp classic white shirt is always a style for spring-however, this season, you might want to wear one with ruffles, a wrap style or one with a high-low hemline! Equipment "Slim Signature" Silk Shirt (many colors)
Lingerie for Daytime. Our undergarments are not so undercover this spring. Lingerie-inspired pieces add a bit of sass into your wardrobe. These slinky silhouettes are made for going out on the town- or for play on the weekend. WHAT WAS ON THE SPRING RUNWAY:
HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND: No need to literally wear your lingerie during the day. Look for lingerie inspired tops, dresses and swimwear with delicate lace, netting, satin, pintucks, semi-sheer fabrics. A lace top adds instant feminine trendy style. It can be worn with a pencil skirt and flats, or a white jean or shorts... Gianni Bini Cropped Lace Blouse (4 colors)
Life Imitating Art. Designers really put on their creative thinking caps this spring. There were tactile works of art walking down the runways! There is lots of mixing of leather and lace with sheer and sleek fabrications. Also sprinkled in were offerings of intrigue with lace panels, studs, sculptural fabrics, and unique 3D accents. Fine 1 unique artsy piece to add this spring. WHAT WAS ON THE SPRING RUNWAY: HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND: Look for bold and graphic, or artsy prints to wear with your basic wardrobe. Just one bold blouse, dress, skirt or pant will bring lots of pizzazz to your spring wardrobe! STYLE TIP: When wearing a bold print, keep your other pieces & accessories neutral.
Pretty in Pleats. Pleating isn't reserved for preps or girlie girls anymore. This time around, designers are transforming silhouettes with sculptural pleats, adding structure and sometimes just a little flirtation, all with the bend of the fabric. WHAT WAS ON THE SPRING RUNWAY: HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND: Look for a midi skirt with gentle pleats and tuck in your top (or tee) + nude sandals for an on-point yet easy to wear spring look! (see below)
Ruffles. Girlie-yet grown up was everywhere on the runways. Just about every fashion house added ruffles to give this spring a slight flirtatious vibe. WHAT WAS ON THE SPRING RUNWAY: HOW YOU CAN WEAR THIS TREND: Add at least one ruffle blouse to your spring wardrobe. You don t need to be a girlie girl to wear the ruffle trend either. STYLE TIP: Choose a ruffle top in any color that you can add to your existing wardrobe. A ruffle blouse can be worn to work with dress slacks or tucked into a pencil skirt, or worn with dark or white jeans on the weekend.
