The administration has final authority on all matters relating to the Dress Code. Casual Dress Day Certain incentives provide for casual dress days. Students who earn a casual dress day should keep the dress code in mind and dress in such a way that they do not call unnecessary attention to themselves. With that in mind: shorts and skirts should be no more than 3 from the back of the crease of the knee; shirts/blouses should have sleeves and be free of inappropriate logos and tucked in; shoes should follow the regular dress code policy. Students should not use casual dress day on a field trip day unless otherwise indicated by the teacher. If clothing is deemed to be inappropriate, a parent will be called and asked to bring appropriate clothing. Consequences for Uniform Infractions Out of uniform is described as any missing or inappropriate items, style, or type of apparel that does not appear in the section describing the grade-appropriate uniform. The first three times a student is found out of uniform a warning slip will be issued by the class room teacher. The warning slip must be signed by the parent and returned to the teacher. The fourth time a student is found out of uniform, the parent will be called to bring the appropriate clothing to school. The parent will be required to schedule a conference with the principal. Any subsequent violations may result in suspension. If a student is not wearing the appropriate dress for a field trip, he or she forfeits the right to go on the field trip.
