Happy May! Last month s rain and record breaking snow is bring May flowers! Their popping up everywhere. I love it! We have lots of things to look forward to this month as we kick off with the BBQ at the Big R West end. I will have a sign up sheet for that as we need workers for set up, workers thoughout the day and then tear down. I have worked lot of these kinds of events and I have found that if when people commit to a time they will show up and if it is left open often times there snt evough help. Truth be told everyone thinks that everyone else is doing it and sometimes in fact its 20% of the group doing 80% of the work! Lets speread it around and share! Thanks to all of you who have shared infmation with me regarding the BBQ and Omletfest! I really feel informed and it makes me happy! I love well planned out events! At the gathering I will have sign up sheets for both the BBQ and the omletfest for time, food and attendance so we knw how many to set up for. I will also like to know who will be staying for Bunco. Terry & Patti Schiesser have had some information trickeling in for the Legacy ride, but we need a BIG influx of infornation as to who our past members and officers were so they can begin building a list for the Legancy Ride in September. Please help with this endeavor. Bring your information and pictures to chapter gatherings or email to them at advantageelect@yahoo.com or terrys131@yahoo.com. As per your request the T-shirts will be at chapter gatherings for sale. Please see Gary & Linda s article later in this newlsetter. The district training in June is rapidy approching and that team is looking for your participation. How often do we get such a wonderful group in Billings to train us? Lets pull out all the stops and support their hard work and your learning. Friday I met the most incredible young man at Good Vibrations., Brett Reichert. He is 22 years old and their motorcycle expert. He installed my LED lights on my spyderand it looks incredible. Hopefully he will come to some of our events so you can meet him. I have his cards. See you Thursday at the gathering and make sure you do the word search because we will be having some prizes! Barbara PS Google Calendar email is rimrockwings@gmail.com and new password Gwrramt@2017. You will love the convience of using the calender!

Please note that I am re-running this article in the wake of everything that is happening with our social media. I do not need to name the names of the companies on the web as you all know them and use them a lot during your week, usually to verify what it happening with your friends and/or kids. MEMBERSHIP ENHANCEMENT SOCIAL MEDIA, YOUR BEST FRIEND OR WORST ENEMY? The following article is taken from the online GWRRA INSIGHT for February 2016 that was written by Ray & Sandi Garris, Directors of GWRRA. I hope that this article will help you understand what GWRRA would like from all of us when posting articles to any Social Media. WOW! What a great way to stay in touch with your friends and chapter members or any group. It can help you with so many communication challenges in GWRRA. You can even set up your own Facebook Page for your Chapter/District/Region. What a great tool for effective communications with our Members. This type of instant communication used to be something we would dream about. Wake up folks!!! This dream can easily turn into a nightmare if we are not careful when using it. Don't forget whatever you say may be held against you! It lasts forever, you can't take it back and the opportunity for your printed words, without facial expression, voice inflections or body language can easily be misinterpreted or misunderstood. Instead of someone laughing at the remark you stated in writing, the opposite happened. Now, their feelings are hurt, and/or they are mad at you. This very rapid and far reaching form of communication can also broadcast whatever you wrote about when you offered your opinion about a presidential candidate or anything political in nature. The same goes for any other subject that will affect someone's opinion, including religion. It is almost impossible not to offend someone who reads that post from you. At this point, I have a sincere concern. Whenever you post a disparaging remark about anyone on your Facebook page YOUR name always precedes it - in BOLD type. Lots of the readers of that post know YOU! How does the individual reader differentiate this personal opinion you have just voiced as representing only your opinion and not the Chapter, District or Region that you represent in GWRRA. Worse, does the reader think that opinion represents who or what we stand for in GWRRA? WOW! Instead of making a friend on Facebook we may have just lost one or more friends. How many times have we found out that the basis of a misunderstanding amongst members of a Chapter turned out to be something that someone posted on Facebook or other Social Media? As leaders in GWRRA, please help our Members understand that Facebook can help make our
experience in GWRRA even better when we can share all the great rides and adventures that our 2, 3 or 4 wheels bring us plus the great pictures and memories that go along with them. This is all possible if we are careful of the letters that our fingers touch on our keyboards as we enter the World Wide Web! Thank you Ray and Sandi Garris Directors GWRRA Dale & Donna Jennison MEC Montana District MT-B MEMBERSHIP Education APRIL 2018 GWRRA Group Riding Hand Signals The Most common GWRRA Group Riding Hand Signals are; Hazard in Road, Single File, Stagger Formation, Stop or Slow.
