Clinically proven to improve skin condition PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam Hand Sanitiser For European Markets Only
Keeping hands soft and clean is a hard task in a busy demanding environment. Why? Skin disease costs the EU in excess of 6 million Euro s a year*. Frequent use of hand hygiene products can lead to irritant contact dermatitis. Frequent donning and removal of gloves can cause friction over the skin and can lead to irritant contact dermatitis. Age plays a role in skin health. The average age of a healthcare worker is over 40, making them more susceptible to dry skin. 3 Low humidity or seasonal changes in temperature can lead to irritant contact dermatitis. Cuts and rips in the hands caused by dermatitis are susceptible to picking up infection. Skin irritation caused by hand hygiene agents is a substantial barrier to compliance. 4 *HSE

Superior Skin Hydration Objective: To determine if using PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam results in superior skin hydration compared to other foaming hand sanitisers on the market. 5 Method: Skin hydration was measured with a Corneometer at baseline. Hand sanitiser was applied and Corneometer measurements were taken 10 minutes and 120 minutes after product application. Conclusion: The results revealed that one application of PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam resulted in statistically superior skin hydration at 10 minutes and 120 minutes compared to an untreated control and four competitive foams with moisturising claims. Glove and CHG Compatibility Gloves: Following the ASTM D5151-99 standard, glove samples were immersed in product for a period of 2 hours and then examined for leaks. 9 The control samples were not exposed to product. 100 control gloves and 100 gloves were tested with PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam on each of three glove types. Tested were 100 each of latex, nitrile and vinyl gloves. Results indicated that PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam does not impact the integrity of latex, nitrile or vinyl gloves. CHG: To determine if PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam impacts the efficacy of CHG-containing products, it was tested before and after using a CHG-containing product and compared to CHG when used alone. 10 Results from glove juice testing demonstrate no significant differences in efficacy when a CHG-containing product was used in conjunction with PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam. Therefore, PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam is compatible with CHG. Meets WHO requirements for a hand sanitiser Highly effective, broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria Fast kills 99.99% of most common germs that may be harmful Why 70% ethyl alcohol? GOJO, as the leader in hand sanitiser technology, has seen an increased desire among healthcare workers globally to utilise a 70% alcohol formulation. Historically, higher alcohol levels were associated with poor product aesthetics (thin) and ones that were perceived to be more drying to the skin. These negatives may limit acceptance by healthcare workers and potentially lead to decreased compliance. The foam format and unique moisturising combination developed for PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam has allowed us to create a 70% ethyl alcohol formulation while delivering an aesthetically pleasing product that not only doesn t damage the skin, but can deliver increased hydration. PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam has been specifically formulated to help hydrate your skin whilst also ensuring the benefits of PURELL are secure.
Meets WHO Guidelines The WHO recommends the use of hand sanitisers as part of the Clean Your Hands initiative. This is part of a major global effort led by the World Health Organization (WHO), to support healthcare workers to improve hand hygiene and thus stop the spread of life-threatening health care associated infection (HCAI). In addition, the WHO guidelines recommend to its members that they insist on products that: Promote and maintain healthy skin Increase skin hydration Have low irritancy potential Be confident in your decision PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam is clinically proven to improve skin condition in 14 days Meets the recommendations provided by WHO Conforms to EN1500 Proven virucidal activity Help build hand hygiene compliance with a product your healthcare workers will want to use! When tested in two leading hospitals, 8 out of 10 healthcare workers who used PURELL Skin Nourishing Foam preferred it over their current instant hand sanitiser. 11
