2 Welcome Elite International School of Beauty and Spa Therapies is dedicated to beauty therapy and spa therapy training with a fantastic reputation in the industry. We have purpose-built facilities equipped to international standards and are fully committed to providing top quality, industry ready students. Elite's origins date back to 1973 when a Dutch beauty therapist named Joyce Blok opened the Beauty Therapy College of New Zealand, the first institution to offer professional beauty therapy training in New Zealand. She then went on to open the Joyce Blok institute. Both of these institutions form part of Elite today. We have the best teaching staff - all of our tutors are fully qualified (including many who are internationally qualified) and our classes are small which means no student is left behind (maximum of 16 students in practical classes). All courses include exceptional product training including brands like Jane Iredale, Joyce Blok and Algolagie.
3 Introduction to Staff Annette Mulligan - Programme Leader and Tutor I love what I do and with 26 years experience in NZ and overseas as a Beauty and Spa Therapist I believe I have much to offer our students at Elite. I hold my CIBTAC, CIDESCO and ITEC Diplomas, NZBT Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Electrolysis and City and Guilds Teaching and Assessing Award - Stages 1, 2 and 3. I have spent the past 14 years working in education training Beauty Therapists and I am just as passionate about our industry now as I was when I started. I take pride in the standard of our programmes at Elite and have been a key person assisting with programme development. Lesley Lazarides - Tutor I studied at Elite in Wellington where I achieved my CIBTAC Qualification, Elite Diploma, NZQA Diploma in Beautician together with also being awarded Beautician of the Year, I loved every minute of my time studying, it was hard juggling work, home life and study but I did it with hard work and perseverance. I then went on to study Relaxation Massage together with Aromatherapy & Reflexology. Before becoming a tutor with Elite I worked in Management and have a strong Business background. I went on to run my own Salon, which I loved but missed being in an academic environment and wanted to be able to share my knowledge with others. Becoming a tutor at Elite allows me to help our students achieve their dream and realise my own passion for education. One of my favourite Quotes is "It's never too late to follow your dreams, and there's no time like the present to start". Go for it. Amanda Hawea - Tutor I have been with Elite for one year but have previous tutoring experience. Tutors at Elite get the opportunity to teach numerous topics within the programmes and at present I currently teach anatomy & physiology, facials and electrolysis. I have 9 years experience working and managing in a range of salons and spas, including running my own home salon. I have a passion for beauty therapy, and enjoy being able to share that with students. I love seeing students succeed, and feel privileged to be part of their journey here at Elite. Sanet Eloff - Tutor I am a tutor at Elite International School of Beauty and Spa Therapies. I currently hold a Degree in Beauty Therapy as well as a Certificate in Education. I have been in the beauty industry since 2008 where I have been involved with various aspects of the health and wellness industry, and I have been teaching full time for the past 5 years. I have a great passion to combine my love for teaching and my love for beauty. My aim is to guide learners and equip them with the needed knowledge to excel in their future career paths. Ashlee Cahill -Tutor I am a Beautician, Body and Spa Tutor where I specialise in practical classes. This role allows me to help our students reach their goals, grow in confidence and discover which path of the Beauty Therapy industry they would like to follow. I have 11 years of national and international industry experience including business management and have gained skills in most areas of the beauty industry from cosmetic to invasive treatments. I have a background in Science and am also a qualified Personal Trainer, I find being a Tutor at Elite encompasses all of my skills and is a very rewarding role. Christine Jones -Tutor I am a tutor for the current programmes being offered at Elite International School of Beauty and Spa Therapies. I come with 26 years industry and business experience with a cross over into training.
