Features & Benefits Moisture and bacterial management are commonly noted as key elements in preparing a wound bed for healing. A moist environment helps to speed healing and promotes growth of new tissue. 1 Wound exudate is protein and cell rich fluid that is a source of neutrophils and macrophages that are designed to promote healing. 2 Most wounds are contaminated with some level of bacteria, which may not directly inhibit healing.
