Techniques & Colour Correction I m constantly looking at new ways to apply colour so each client leaves with a bespoke, fashionforward colour, and I relish the challenge of a colour correction! My colour techniques have been featured across the world including Swirl, Saturn and Tie Dye. Swirl is applied like the cross section of a swiss roll, creating a subtle or bold swirling effect. My award-winning Saturn technique adds a middle band of colour for a cool new look. For my Tie Dye technique, we place 10 ponytails at the nape of the neck and tie bands at 2 intervals then massage colour into the hair to get a tie dye effect. Swirl Saturn Tie-Dye
I introduced Organic Colour Systems to the salon in 2007 because a client had cancer, but wanted to continue colouring her hair without exposure to high levels of chemicals. I researched the options to find an ammonia free permanent colour that uses the lowest level of PPD s possible. This sparked an interest in colouring for clients who were recovering from cancer; it s moving to help them regain normality and colour-wise, brings a host of exciting challenges. Offering an ecofriendly alternative to the usual big brands has been enthusiastically received by clients switching and is one of the biggest sources of new business as new clients seek us out for it. This year I launched fully Vegan services into the salon. It s so important to be aware of lifestyle trends and choices like Veganism as it s certainly not going anywhere; we re noticing it more and more in London. Booking a Vegan Colour Service takes the uncertainty out of the appointment for Vegans - no more having to ask at each stage if all the products are Vegan, or missing out on refreshments because there s nothing suitable with this appointment we serve Vegan cookies and milk alternatives for tea and coffee. Every August I hold a Colour Festival in salon. We dedicate the month to promoting colour services, techniques and the importance of making sure everyone s colour works for them. We offer in-depth consultations, colour prizes and education around what is possible in terms of colour changes and hair health. We also launch new colour techniques and services, such as our Curl Colour appointment colour tailor made for curls. My clients include Shelley Conn, Rachel McDowall, Neve Campbell, Katy Hill and Sam Mann and they often attend. Colour Festival
I m an ambassador for Organic Colour Systems and appear on stage around the world doing seminars and demonstrations. I have groups of colourists visit me in the salon from Italy, Sweden and beyond to learn about organic colour and the techniques I use. I ve been in many magazines and papers and have appeared on Radio 4 s Woman s Hour and The One Show. Colour is my absolute passion, and to ensure that my precision and procedure are replicated by my team I devised a Colour Clinic manual.
