ESSENTIAL OILS Overview 1. WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
2. 3 WAYS TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS A :: AROMATIC Diffuser: Add 1 drop of essential oil per 1 hour of diffusing. Hands (personal diffuser): Add 1-2 drops of essential oils to palms of hands, cup together around nose, and inhale. Cotton ball: Add 2-3 drops essential oil to cotton ball and place on desk, in car, bedside stand, etc. Oil bottle: inhale directly from oil bottle. T :: TOPICAL Site/Organ/Body System Specific: apply 1-3 drops to area of pain or concern. If on a child, sensitive skin, or a hot EO, use carrier oil (like jojoba, coconut, olive, apricot oil) to dilute. Add warm compress or massage to drive oils deeper into body tissues. Emotional Support: apply along the spine, behind the ears, inside of wrists, or above the brow bone. Bottoms of feet: apply 1-3 drops essential oil to the bottom of feet. Baths: add 3-5 drops essential oils to warm bath (+ epsom salts for bonus relaxation and repair). NOTE: If applying citrus oils to skin, do not expose that area to the sun for 24 hours as citrus oils are photosensitive. TOPICAL DILUTION DOSAGE: Babies - 1 drop EO to 1 tablespoon carrier oil Children - 1 drop EO to 1 teaspoon carrier oil Adults - {if diluting} 3-6 drops to 1 teaspoon carrier oil I :: INTERNAL Mouth: Place 1-2 drops under the tongue or mix in a glass of water and drink. Capsule: Add 1-3 drops to empty veggie capsule and swallow just like any other pill. NOTE: Use internal method only with Pure, Therapeutic Grade oils that have a supplement label on the bottle. Children 12 and under should not take internally. FREQUENCY: Acute conditions: use every 15-20 minutes until symptoms subside, then apply every 2-6 hours as needed. Chronic/ongoing conditions: repeat 1-3x/day, typically a.m., noon, and p.m. Emotional support: diffuse/apply 4-6x/day and/or as needed.
