The MODEUROP Roundtable & Colour Club Meeting was held in Graz, Austria during 6-7 November 2012 at Legero Shoes. 3

Pre-selection on 6 th November 2012 The Members of the Fashion Committee of MODEUROP Fashion Pool were engaged in the process of pre-selection of colours from the wide selection presented by Tanneries from India, Italy and Germany. Colours in three Colour Groups namely: REALITY, ART and WORLD were the basis of the selection. Theme boards and Mood boards readied by Ms Marga Indra Heide, Ms Jutta Turnwald and Mr Gebhard were the reference to the various leather, colour and material surfaces. 4

WELCOME By Mr Manfred Junkert, Managing Director, MODEUROP Mr Manfred Junkert, Managing Director of MODEUROP welcomed the gathering to the Spring Summer 2014 edition of the MODEUROP Roundtable and Colour Club Meeting. Mr Junkert detailed the activities of MODEUROP since the last meeting and presented the activities very optimistically. He added that five new members had joined MODUROP since the last meeting and it was the endeavour of MODEUROP to reach out to the A to Z of the Leather Industry globally. Mr Junkert then presented mementos to the host Mr Rudolf Hampl, Managing Director, Legero Shoes and to Ms Elisabeth Krautinger, Designer at Legero Shoes and thenaked them for hosting this meeting in Graz, Austria. Welcome by host, Mr Rudolf Hampl, Managing Director, Legero Shoes, Graz, Austria 5 In his welcome address, Mr Hampl expressed great joy on the opportunity given to him by MODEUROP for hosting the Spring Summer 2014 edition of MODEUROP. He added that the MODEUROP endeavour was very useful to his company in gearing up for the new seasons well in advance. He further elucidated on his brands Superfit and Legero. He also mentioned about the work of his designer, Ms Elisabeth Krautinger and the value addition she brings to LEGERO in view of her association with MODEUROP.

Review of Autumn Winter 13/ 14 season by Mrs Marga Indra Heide, MODEUROP Fashion Pool Ms Marga Indra Heide presented the important dates for the next review meetings for the Spring Summer 2014 season as well as the date to discuss the Pantone Colours for the Autumn Winter 14/ 15 season: 13/02/13 LE CUIR, Paris 04/04/13 LINEAPELLE, Bologna 6 She then traced the trends from Le Cuir to LINEAPELLEcovering the Autumn Winter 13/ 14 season in three colour stories: Drama, Shadow and History Colour & Leather Report Winter 2013/14: Modeurop @ Lineapelle Colours with depth + leather with gloss Following the frenzy of colours in the summer collections, people were very excited to see what colours would come next. They were not disappointed. Although there was a much darker and more mysterious trend, exciting material developments with shimmering surfaces were added. The trend towards gloss and glitter, glamour and opulence was omnipresent, maybe also to deflect attention away from the major economic problems in southern Europe. A real drama! What is meant here is the MODEUROP colour theme 'Drama' with its deep black alternatives. These dark yet very dramatic shades of colour dominate the new collections both for leather and for fabrics and high-tech finishes. In particular the refined red, claret (Oxblood) and violet shades (Velvet) are represented everywhere, but also the new green variants such as emerald and topaz or deep forest green are frequently seen. Shiny & Glossy, Lasercuts, Ornamental-Prints, Fake Fur, Changeants, Holografics, Oil/Wet Look, Reptile- Prints. Incidentally, black does of course still remain the undisputed number 1. The lighter nebulous colours from the 'Shadow' range with a high fraction of grey in them can also be seen in many places. The mauve shade can be discovered in many collections too. It is considered to be a good combination with the shades of grey or violet. The warm colours from the MODEUROP colour group 'History' form the basis of many collections. They are regarded as belonging to the very esteemed classics such as the dark blue (Uniform), the sporty

green (Hunter), with interpretations towards khaki/olive being possible, and not forgetting the typical brown shades such as setter or sherry. One theme without any gloss is camouflage. Either in the original khaki shades or else unusually in new colour combinations. The transition to animal prints is almost fluid. Whether you are looking for lion or zebra, crocodile or snake, they surface time and time again. The new glossy surface finishes do of course also change the colour picture: for instance the fashionable gold, amber and bronze nuances emerge from mustard, sherry and setter. 7

Colour Voting: MODEUROP Autumn Winter 13/ 14 season Post-presentation by Ms Marga Indra Heide, the Colours for the MODEUROP Autumn Winter 13/ 14 season were reviewed and the process of Colour Voting for the TOP Colours for the season commenced. 8

Visit to the LEGERO Shoes Design & Product Development Centre Mr Rudolf Hampl, Managing Director, LEGERO Shoes later conducted the MODEUROP Team around the Design & Development Centre. He explained the various stages of the design and development of Children s Shoes at Legero Shoes. Injection Moulding of Children s Shoes was explained and demonstrated in detail. 9

10

SOCIAL EVENING on 6 th November 2012 MODEUROP hosted Dinner on the evening of 6 th November 2012 at Restaurant Aiola at Schlossberg which is atop a hill. It was a pleasant evening for the Members to get-together. 11

Welcome by President, MODEUROP In his welcome address, Mr Hanus read a leaf out of a Best Seller which says Mean out! Valuable is better the principle of Manufactum "It is for all of us at the time to open your eyes. It is time to understand that our greed and our stinginess have formed an economy falling threatens like a spruce monoculture in the hurricane." ULI Burchardt Greed is greed: the strategies of discounters and artsy are disused. More and more people want products that are recoverable, made on fair and ecologically compatible manner and not travel around the globe, before they end up in the domestic four walls. That sustainability and economic success to connect can individual companies have successfully performed in recent years. ULI Burchardt, who was marketing and sales manager at Manufactum, gives a look behind the scenes of the company, reveals the secrets of his success, and shows, how to distinguish between good products and good marketing. 12

Colour Trends Spring Summer 2014 17

In her Colour Trends presentation, Ms Marga Indra Heide, Fashion Expert, MODEUROP Fashion Pool added that Black and White is the base the structure on which the Colours for Spring Summer 2014 season will be formed. She said that: COLOURS were important for Spring Summer 2014 season; but not flower power; instead Colours in a very strong, modern and sporty way. The three colours groups: REALITY ART WORLD Japanese influence. Colour blocking, Black & White Story of prints; not only flowers, but digital prints Natural Colours Khakis, yellows (not rustic or washed out) in shiny effects Back to Reality! Following last season s huge exuberance of colours and materials, it is now time for a certain degree of calm. Black and white therefore provide a framework, give structure, and create neutrality. There is still room for many colours, however, from pastels to intense power colours. Nevertheless, they lose a little of their status as dominant single colours with unconventional colour mixes and, above all, prints, now playing an ever greater role. Let s also not forget the traditional classics and neutral tones for a sportier look. Even though these colour statements initially indicate that the fashion look is quieter, new materials and shapes offer vast scope for presenting fashion in a way that is exciting, feminine and sensual, yet also somewhat more sober and tougher. The MODEUROP Team has chosen three groups of colour that reflect the most important colour inspirations. REALITY 18 Focus on what matters sums this one up well. It s all about clear statements with classic elements for an urban look. The fashion look is controlled, sober, strict and sophisticated. Inspiration is taken from architecture and the world of interior design; Japanese and Scandinavian influences are also in evidence. Black and white form the basis, with light, neutral shades such as light grey and beige, and very pale green or blue. These colours are complemented by blue or dark red. In the first place, this look is defined by single colours, with attention-grabbing bicolour effects. First and foremost, we will be seeing new versions and dimensions in terms of broad strips, innovative graphic designs and large areas of colour blocking. High standards are being demanded of the materials: the motto is smooth, fine, and shiny the look is dominated by silk sheen and natural grains, soft nappa leathers and some patent leather.

ART Art and colour belong together and art knows no bounds. Art is imagination. Art is like a circus of cultures. And, importantly: the more intense the colours, the more striking the art. For this reason Art stands for an unbelievable blaze of colour a mix of delicate, icy or metallic pastels, and vibrant, intense shades of colour. Here too, black and white provide a certain balance. There is a broad spectrum of inspirations that can be translated into fashion, as both feminine and sporty interpretations are possible here. On the one hand, ethnic influences from Asia or South America come into play while, on the other hand, the new technologies are deployed. We hear buzzwords such as speed, streetwear, laser shows and LED. All of this is reflected in the imaginative prints. Thanks to the latest digital possibilities, completely new looks are being created. This diversity may also be seen in the textiles, leather and high-tech: they shimmer, opalescent and shine, or even have a metallic sheen. Contrast is provided by matt effects. WORLD 19 People are seeking balance and harmony. That is why, alongside the classic (Reality) and imaginative (Art) themes, the fashion picture is rounded out with a natural look. Think of the global traveller on a trip round the world that takes him through diverse landscapes, climate zones and cultures. These are the colours of our planet: the palette contains earthy shades of brown, watery blues and greys, and neutral sand and khaki tones. A little excitement is created with somewhat hotter shades of spice and gold effects. The new textiles and leathers focus on unusual structures and interesting surfaces. Typical features include 3D effects and embossing, handcrafted and sanded elements, braiding and laser cuts. Single colours and minimalist prints are complemented by ethnic motifs, camouflage and animal prints. The distortion and abstraction of these designs add a new and modern note.

Colour Selection: MODEUROP Spring Summer 2014 season The final colour selection was then made. Members were engaged in discussions and a final check was made on the leathers/ colours that were pre-selected and the Colours for the Spring Summer 2014 season were selected in the three colour groups: Reality, Art and World and also in the categories: Shoes & Accessories and leather Garments. 20
