Healthy Hair Habits Avoid Stress 4 Eat Healthy 5 Stress has been shown to minimize the body s ability to fight free radicals and produce antioxidants. Long periods of uninterrupted stress have been shown to contribute to changes in hair health. Exercise, meditation, and prayer are all excellent habits to help control stress toxins that build up in our bodies. Eating a well-balanced diet is important for good hair health. The body needs to get nutrients from foods and supplements. Since hair is a nonessential tissue, it only gets what is left over from other vital organs. Therefore it is essential to eat well in order to provide enough nutrition for your hair. Dieting is a major stressor on nonessential tissues like hair. Sudden and dramatic weight loss can be harmful to hair as well. Slow, controlled weight loss is recommended. Use Quality Vitamins and Minerals 6 There are a number of vitamins and minerals that are essential for overall hair health, especially since many of today s foods don t contain the nutrients and minerals they once contained. Stop Hair Loss Before It Goes Too Far! So why is waiting to do something a bad idea? How Will I Look Right After the Procedure? One of the best things about a hair transplant procedure is you have little downtime. Typically, patients will have some small scabs about the size of a large strawberry seed or small freckle as well as a little bit of redness for the first few days. Then the redness begins to diminish to a light pink color and fades away over a few days to a week or so. Skin type has a lot to do with it.
