Sign up online www.timetosignup.com/laalag/sheet/230250 Hello All! July has rolled around and with it the 32nd Annual Eye of the Beholder Open Competition and exhibit. Final week to submit your entries will be 8/1 through 8/4!l I am excited to say this month has a lot going on in it. Exhibits have changed out at the library, Vermilionville and in our Green Apple Foyer. Please also visit the satellite galleries and take a look. Dusty Reed has some large pieces up in our Galerie Nouvelle and it looks great! I had a mini workshop helping students to create art using glass and resin on both July 21st and 22nd and we had a blast - Check out our video on Facebook! I can t wait to do it all over again. This month, Terry Palmer will be doing a mini workshop on Sat,. August 25th (10am-3pm): Single Brush, Quick Watercolors. Due to the great response, he added a 2nd class date the next day, Sun., August 26th. Students will follow along as Terry demos different technique to create 2 different 5X7 watercolors using one brush. AND, stay tuned for Margo Baker s workshop coming up September 15th! It s going to be a lot of fun. You ll be able to create your own Bohemian Garden using collage techniques. In the meantime, we need to begin to discuss our annual Fundraiser. I have been in discussion with our Lieutenant Governor s Office - he may not only be coming to our event, but, even participating! Stay tuned on that one! The theme for our fundraiser will be Create Your Own Magic. We are looking to have a magical evening event with activities and a silent as well as a live auction. We are waiting to hear back from Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser s office as to what date in November he would be available, as our fundraiser will be tailored around that date. I have given them the possible dates of November 3rd or the 10th, since we are having our Open Studio tours on the weekend of November 17th and 18th. Also, if you know of someone who would like to donate a large ticket item that we could publicize and auction off during our live auction, please let me know. I am in the process of organizing the fundraiser and your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to Laurie Legnon for taking care of the Eye of the Beholder and don t forget to also pick up your Spring exhibit pieces 8/1-8/4! Have a great rest of the Summer! The kiddos go back to school in a few weeks so its off to family vacation for me! Kay Richoux, President artist@kayrichoux.com 337-296-3573 Submit: FINAL WEEK!
