Harold Thomas was the potter who "threw" the pot and worked alongside Gordon Forsyth at Burslem School of Art. He was responsible for making the structure of the bowl, glazing and firing. A cautious man, Mr Thomas is believed to have made two of these bowls, in case of any problems. The whereabouts of the other bowl is as yet unknown. The vendor of the bowl was a friend of Harold Thomas and had worked with him as a fellow lecturer at Burslem School of Art.
