your next work bag When one of our favorite Savannah artists, Katherine Sandoz, needed a work bag to take to Marfa, Texas, for an artist s retreat, she came to see us first. She designed a bag that was big enough to hold magazines and a laptop, a water bottle and a sweater, yet not it s bulky under your arm. the stewardess All good things come with a story. This bag was named for the owner s mother, Mary Ben Seeger. Mary Ben was a stewardess for TWA back in the 1960 s, when they were actually called that! She was based in San Francisco, where she met and married the love of her life Al. They moved to Louisiana to raise a family. But Al also flew for TWA as a pilot. Whenever he would fly back to San Francisco, Mary Ben would send him with an extra tote bag so that he could bring her home sourdough bread. Owner Elizabeth designed this bag for a trip to go to Ohio for the weekend with Mahala to visit Mahala s family. She was able to bring this bag, and only this bag for the weekend trip. Large enough to hold a few outfits and pairs of shoes (ok, it was summer), Elizabeth carried this on the plane and it fit perfectly both in the overhead bin and under the seat. A few weeks later, Elizabeth s sister Alison flew overseas to meet her boyfriend who was traveling for work in India. Thanks to a French airline strike, Alison got stuck in Paris for three days.
