The Camden Art Prize Inc is conducting The 41st Camden Art Prize in 2016 The Main Aims of the Committee are: To stage the Camden Art Prize To promote the visual arts within Camden Local Government Area and Macarthur Region, and to broaden and stimulate community perception of art with particular reference to Australian works. 2016 Conditions of Entry Entries Works must be the original work of the entrant, must have been completed in the last 12 months and must not have been exhibited in any previous competition in the Local Government Areas (LGA) of Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly. Local Section is restricted to any artist residing in the LGA of Camden, Wollondilly and Campbelltown. A maximum of two (2) works may be entered and all works must remain for the duration of the exhibition. Submission of Entry Form Entries must be on the entry form provided and received by 4.00 pm Friday 15th April 2016 together with the entry fee of $20 per entry. Please complete and forward with entry fee to: Camden Art Prize PO Box 171 Camden NSW 2570. Artists may personally deliver entry form and entry fee to the Civic Centre 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, on Friday 29th April 2016. Late entries will incur a $10.00 penalty per entry. Entry forms may be downloaded from our website: sites.google.com/site/camdenartprize/ Size of Entries (except Photography section) The total length of two (2) adjacent sides, including frame, shall not be more than two (2) metres. The artwork should not exceed one (1) square metre in total. Diptychs/ Triptych/Quadtychs must include all works/components plus framing, to comply with the one square metre size requirements. Sculptures must not exceed: 100cm wide x 100cm high x 100cm deep. Weight 32Kg Maximum. Presentation Artworks must be dry, framed (except wide-edged stretched canvases which must be stapled to the back of the frame and not to the sides), ready to hang by cord (using D rings or cord professionally stapled to the back of the frame). Screw eyes will not be accepted. Artworks must be CLEARLY MARKED ON THE BACK with NAME, TITLE OF WORK, SECTION and PRICE. Commission Every work must be for sale. A commission of 25% of the sale price will be retained by the Committee on sales. Where the artist is registered for GST, the sale price MUST include GST. Judging The decision of the judges is final. Copyright The Artists will allow their works to be reproduced by print and electronic media during the advertising and promotion for the Exhibition and for archival uses. The Artists warrant that they are the copyright owner of all submitted artworks and that their artworks do not infringe moral rights of third parties. The Organisers have the right to supply contact details of the Artist for promotional purposes. Insurance Cover Exhibitors are responsible for maintaining their own insurance cover. The Committee will exercise reasonable care with all works submitted but will not be responsible for the loss, theft or damage to any such works while in its custody. Please Be Aware: Entry fees are non-refundable. Committee will hang works at their discretion; not all works will necessarily be hung.

Delivery of Artworks Eligible work will be accepted by the Committee at the Camden Civic Centre, Oxley Street, Camden on Saturday 30th April 2016 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Exhibitors must arrange their own delivery of works and employ their own courier where necessary. Collection of Artworks Return of posted items must be REPLY PAID and meet the requirements of Australia Post. Sold and unsold works will be available for collection on Friday 13th May 2016 between 4.30 pm and 6.00 pm and Saturday 14th May 2016 from 8.30 am to 12:00 noon. Receipt or proof of identity must be presented to collect artwork. Please Note: A $20 late pick up fee will apply. Entries not collected within 2 weeks of Exhibition closure may be disposed of at the discretion of the Committee. Marjory Baker Memorial Youth Award - 16 to 25 years Prize Money $750 All the Conditions of Entry apply. Youth entrants may enter one or two artworks in the sections of their choice. These entries will also be eligible to be considered for the Youth Award. Special Conditions Proof of age Entrants are required to present proof of age, such as a birth certificate, student card, drivers licence, passport or any other, on presentation of artworks. Photography Section Prize Money $1,000 All conditions of Entry apply except for size. Size: The total length of two (2) adjacent sides, including frame, shall not be more than one (1) metre. Artworks should not exceed 0.25 square metres. Special Conditions: Works should not be manipulated or altered. Tonal adjustments are acceptable. THE JUDGES FOR THE 2016 CAMDEN ART PRIZE LEE BETHEL Lee Bethel holds a Masters of Fine Art, Honours in Fine Art and a Bachelor of Visual Communications from Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney University. Lee has shown work in many exhibitions, including the Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and many other galleries throughout Australia. She was awarded a UNESCO Laureate to work in France. Lee has had a residency at Arthur Boyd s Bundanoon and two residences at Hill End through the Bathurst Regional Gallery. Lee s work draws on a love of paper, cutting and manipulating paper in a manner that utilises shadow and reflection to create complex patterns and peripheral lightscapes. MEGAN MONTE Megan is the Curator of Contemporary Art at Campbelltown Arts Centre (CAC). She holds a BA in Visual Arts, Graduate Diploma in Secondary Arts Education and Masters in Arts Administration at the University of New South Wales. Megan is a board member of the Young Members Committee at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Megan has curated a number of exhibitions at Campbelltown Arts Centre, including The Social (2013), co-curator of Catching Light (2013) as part of ISEA and The List (2014) and other independent projects including collaborating with UNSW Art & Design lecturer Zanny Begg in 2015 to curate Winter Wonderland. KYLIE LYONS - Photography Kylie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design majoring in photomedia from the University of Western Sydney and is a valued State National and International judge with a unique understanding of the Australasian awards judging system. Kylie holds a Master of Photography with 1 gold bar with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP). Kylie joined the AIPP in late 1999 and held the office of New South Wales State President for 5 years. Kylie Lyons has been a professional photographer for over 21 years operating her small boutique studio in Narellan.
