BEHIND THE BRAND Exclusive designs MADE IN GERMANY The navabi editing team met up with the 45-year-old for an exclusive interview at the Berlin Fashion Week to talk about her latest autumn/winter collection. Anja Gockel is a woman who knows her way around the fashion business: she has been successfully designing premium collections for 17 years. For the first time now, she has also created a plus- size range for women from sizes 14-24. A perfect fit and high-quality materials are of highest priority for the CEO of the label. Shape it up Almost every piece in my premium collection is also available in plus sizes. Of course the designs have not been translated one-to-one they have been modified slightly and the proportions adjusted accordingly, for example the cut may have been elongated. In short, the pieces have been designed to fit my customers curves, tells us Anja Gockel after her fashion show in Berlin. The designer in an interview with the navabi editors
BEHIND THE BRAND THE WOMAN I AM... is the theme of the new autumn/winter collection Flexible materials and elastic fabrics like jersey distinguish the masterpieces of the label. In the current collection, the designer has opted for the duskier shades of autumn and adds colourful highlights with dashes of red, orange and lilac. The prints are kept a bit darker and transitional with no room for boredom or conformity. Figure-flattering designs that masterfully accentuate a feminine silhouette. With my collection, I do not want to hide a woman s curves, I want to gently emphasise them. Clothing that has been cut too wide all too often creates a less than flattering effect.
