Utilities Ranks Cover Blouse No gold showing; matte black spray paint to respray A quarter inch from the edge of collar Lamp of learning pours towards your chest not outwards To align a cover you put two fingers above your nose and then if it touches the tip of the cover Don't wear it like a ball cap let it sit on your head Put a boot band around the visor to get a nice curve while not wearing it The blouse will be loose, but not hinder movement Every button except at the collar should be buttoned Collar down, do not tuck in the blouse Wear an OD green t shirt underneath your blouse Sleeves down: Let the fabric fall to your wrists and button up the cuffs
Sleeves up: When authorized by the CO, sleeves will be rolled with the inside out, forming a roll about 3 inches wide, and terminating at a point about 2 inches above the elbow ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjkqfmrtpyi ) Do not compromise blood circulation when rolling sleeves Trousers/Boots The trousers will be loose, but not hinder movement Web belt will be worn with the end to the wearer s left and extend 2 4 inches away from the buckle Button up every button Boots must be tied and bloused ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qed0rce4mjy ) Only wear approved boots with the Marine Corps emblem heat embossed on the outer ankle Ironing/Washing Washing: Turn clothing inside out, wash in cold water with mild detergent that does not contain optical brighteners or fabric softeners Drying: Low heat (less than 160 degrees Fahrenheit), remove immediately when done so that wrinkles do not set in the clothing Pressing/Starching: Press on low heat, do not iron bunched fabric, pockets, or elastic bands, do not starch

Ribbons are worn with this uniform, guidelines on placement are provided in the Cadet Awards document Males: Keep ribbons ⅛ inch above the pocket and centered Garrison Cap Garrison caps will be worn centered squarely (not slightly tilted to the right unless specified by CO), with the top unbroken, and with the base of the sweatband about 1 inch above the eyebrows The Marine Corps emblem will be on the wearer s front left side of the cap Quarter sleeve Shirt White undershirt will be worn under the quarter sleeve Every button must be buttoned, males do not use the chest pockets Males: Tuck in the shirt and wear shirt stays (if provided), web belt must be worn with the end extended to the wearer s left 2 4 inches Females: Wear the shirt with the end covering just above the waistline Green Trousers Every buttons must be buttoned, fly zipped Do not wear your uniform if it is excessively baggy or tight Shoes Corframs are extremely prone to scratches, cuts, and scrapes Do not press your shoes together during drill or when packing them Shine them before wearing Dry Cleaning Must dry clean or press your uniform before wearing Do not machine wash or dry your charlies Males: It s a good idea to press the part of the white t shirt under your neck so that it is unwrinkled

Ribbons are worn with this uniform, guidelines on placement are provided in the Cadet Awards document Males: Keep ribbons ⅛ inch above the pocket and centered Blues Cover When outdoors, the dress blue cover must be worn Make sure the top of the cover is completely flat All emblems must be unscratched and polished If the black gloss on the cover is damaged, obtain a replacement Quarter sleeve Shirt White undershirt will be worn under the quarter sleeve Every button must be buttoned, males do not use the chest pockets Males: Tuck in the shirt and wear shirt stays (if provided), web belt must be worn with the end extended to the wearer s left 2 4 inches Females: Wear the shirt with the end covering just above the waistline *Ties will not be issued for this uniform (as in the example figure) Blue Trousers Every buttons must be buttoned, fly zipped Do not wear your uniform if it is excessively baggy or tight Do not place large or unwieldy items in pants pockets Shoes Corframs are extremely prone to scratches, cuts, and scrapes Do not press your shoes together during drill or when packing them Shine them before wearing Dry Cleaning Must dry clean or press your uniform before wearing Do not machine wash or dry your deltas Males: Press the part of the white t shirt under your neck so that it is unwrinkled Other Keep in mind this is a dress uniform and conduct yourself accordingly Be very careful not to damage the uniform, as the trousers and cover is the same as what you will wear in the dress blue alpha uniform

Dress Coat Use a lint roller to clean the uniform For collar emblems, remember that anchors must point inward and the eagle must be level with the collar edge All buttons buttoned, clasp the neck clasp All brass clean and polished The white belt must be clean and go through all belt loops The length of all coats will extend about 1 to 2 inches below the individual's crotch The sleeve cuff bottom will extend to about 1 inch above the second/large joint of the thumb Blue Trousers Every buttons must be buttoned, fly zipped Do not wear your uniform if it is excessively baggy or tight Do not place large or unwieldy items in pants pockets Females: Skirts will not be issued Shoes Corframs are extremely prone to scratches, cuts, and scrapes Do not press your shoes together during drill or when packing them Shine them before wearing Dry Cleaning Must dry clean or press your uniform before wearing Do not machine wash or dry your deltas Males: Press the part of the white t shirt under your neck so that it is unwrinkled Other Keep in mind this is a dress uniform and conduct yourself accordingly Be very careful not to damage the uniform During an inspection if a cadet lacks information and cannot properly answer the inspecting cadet a cadet should respond with This cadet was informed of this information but cannot recall at this time.
