maxtop SOLID SURFACE MARBLE/GRANITE Cleaning and Maintenance Marble or Granite Tops: Maintain by cleaning with warm water using a neutral detergent. Rinse with warm water and dry using a chamois leather or a similar cloth. Avoid other liquid cleaners containing bleaches or anti bacterial agents unless they are specifically intended for use on natural stone. Liquids such as lemon juice, red wine and olive oil should not come in to contact with these surfaces as they may stain. In the event that a spill does occur, wipe up immediately and wash down with a mild detergent and warm water. Wood-Veneered Panels: All veneers are prone to mellowing over a period of time. Direct sunlight onto veneered surfaces will accelerate this process. Cleaning of wood-veneered material can be undertaken by the following methods. General cleaning can be carried out with a soft cloth and the surface wiped over. The use of aerosol furniture polish can be used to maintain the sheen of the lacquered surface. Light marks can be cleared with a slightly damp cloth, providing the lacquered surface is not broken. Scratches can be removed by the use of a wire wool and wax. The application of the wire wool should be in a figure of eight pattern. Light pressure should be applied. Once the wax has started to harden then the surface should be buffed up with a fine lint free cloth. Technical Specification MANUFACTURER Maxwood,,, Coventry, CV2 5DB. Note: vanity underpanels are rebated into vanity fascia to create a flushfronted appearance. Designed to compliment Maxwood Maranté cubicle system. Dents: these are much harder to repair and professional advice should be sought. We recommend that No tape (including low-tack ) should be applied to any surface as solvents may react with the finish and cause damage.

maxtop SOLID SURFACE GLASS Cleaning and Maintenance Glass Tops: Maintain by cleaning with recognised glass cleaners. Contact with any hard/metal objects, particularly on edges, should be avoided, and abrasive products should not be used in cleaning as these could scratch permanently. Cream cleaners are not suitable for use on acid-etched glass. Glass is resilient to most chemicals except strong acids, although extreme care should be taken in what cleaning materials are applied to screen-printed surfaces. Significantly scratched or chipped glass should be replaced, ensuring that all fixtures and fastenings are reused correctly. Stainless Steel Brackets: To retain the highest corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal it is necessary to keep the surface of stainless steel clean. Technical Specification MANUFACTURER Maxwood,,, Coventry, CV2 5DB. OPTIONS Ultra clear glass Colours - choice of 12 no. ceramic baked screen print colours Finishes - frosted, satin, listral or textured Maintain by wiping surfaces with a warm clean cloth using either a mild detergent or soap, and then rinsing with warm clean water and drying with a towel. For more stubborn spots or stains, a mild non-scratching cream or polish suitable for use with stainless steel can be used. Hydrochloric acid or concentrations of hydrochloric acid, carbonsteel brushes or carbon-steel wire wool, or products containing chlorine should not be used in cleaning stainless steel It is recommended that stainless steel is cleaned at least once a month, or, in areas of more extreme atmospheric conditions or intense usage, the cleaning routine should be increased to once a week minimum.

maxtop SOLID SURFACE CORIAN Cleaning and Maintenance Corian Tops: Maintain the overall satin sheen finish by using a gentle powder bleach or mild cream abrasive cleaner once or twice a month. Clean using a wet sponge or cloth, using a circular motion. Rinse/wipe with a damp cloth, and dry with a paper towel or a soft cloth. Wipe up any liquid spills as soon as they occur using a mild detergent to get rid of oils or fats. Any stains can be removed by using a gentle abrasive powder/bleach or a mild abrasive cream cleaner. Use a standard lime-scale remover for build-up of water scale following the manufacturer s instructions. Do not place anything hot on your vanity top as excess heat can cause damage. Slight abrasions/marks may come about due to normal daily use. Any scores or severe scratches can normally be restored following general cleaning instructions. Avoid spillage of strong chemicals (e.g. paint stripper, brush cleaners, metal cleaners, oven cleaners, or any cleaners containing methylene chloride.) HPL Under-Unit: Maintain by cleaning with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. This method will remove most normal stains such as, dirt, soil, oil, fat, finger marks, rust, lime deposits, juice, coffee, tea, blood, wax etc. More stubborn stains such as crayons, lead-pencil, ballpoint pens, shoe polish and lipstick can be removed with an organic solvent such as methylated spirits, or nail varnish remover. Abrasive cleaners should not be used. Certain substances such as fruit juice, bleaches and strong mineral acids should be wiped off straight away, as this may result in discolouration. maxwood safety data FIRST PRODUCED: August 1996 REVISED: November 1999 REVISED: October 2005 REVISED: October 2008 PRODUCT APPEARANCE: Decorative, laminated or veneered products SPECIFIED USE: In accordance with contractors requirements HEALTH INFORMATION CLASSIFICATION: Wood-based sheet materials and laminated products have no classification under the classification, packaging and labelling regulations 1984, and therefore are considered non-hazardous. ADDITIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION: There are no particular hazards to health caused by contact with or touch of the products other than care being required when manually lifting heavy items to avoid injury. If any on-site fitting is required, inhalation of wood dust may cause increased mucosal output or irritation to the skin or eyes. Small laminate chips may occasionally cause minor injuries to fingers; however normal workplace First Aid provisions will generally be sufficient to treat such injuries. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY: Strong acids or alkaline solutions may cause permanent discolouration and/or loss of surface gloss to some laminated products. HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS: Decorative laminates are fully cured and chemically inert. They are not classified as toxic or harmful. If finely ground during fabrication, the accidental inhalation of small quantities of dust need not be cause for concern, but in all cases where the machining generates large scale airborne dust particles, dust masks and local exhaust ventilation should be provided to ensure dust is directed away from the breathing zone of the operator. Most powders can cause irritation with persistent direct contact with the skin. The sensitivity of individuals varies considerably, but a few may develop non-infective industrial dermatitis. Problems of this nature can invariably be avoided by simple basic precautions, such as the use of dust masks, gloves, overalls, and care with personal hygiene. Properly dispensed pre-work barrier creams, soaps, washing facilities, and after-work conditioning creams will prove effective. In the exceptional case of a person with an allergic sensitivity to the dust, the only remedy is to avoid all contact at any level of exposure. Professional medical advice should be obtained in such cases. There is no measurable fume or reactive constituent in laminate. Some wood based sheet materials contain formaldehyde resins. Sensitisation to formaldehyde can be a problem for some individuals even at very low levels. The symptoms can be stinging eyes or coughing. The maximum exposure limit (MEL) for formaldehyde vapour is 2 PPM over an 8 hour TWA (Time Weighted Average) and also over a 10 minute reference period. These levels are highly unlikely to be exceeded in relation to normal use of any Maxwood product. FIRE/EXPLOSION INFORMATION: There are no specific fire or explosion hazards, however the products will burn. To extinguish flames, water-spray extinguishers may be used. STORAGE: All Maxwood products should be stored flat where possible away from extremes of moisture and excessive heat. HANDLING/USER PRECAUTIONS: The surface material may have sharp edges. Gloves and safety shoes should be worn. Exercise care when manually lifting heavy items. Suitable respiratory equipment may be required during fitting operations. DISPOSAL: May be safely disposed of in skips in accordance with current environmental and local regulations. Care should be taken to avoid laceration from potentially sharp laminate edges.
