WEDDING COMPENDIUM The Island Hair and Beauty Salon is located conveniently at the central hub of the Resort Centre on the beach side of the island. With over 400 weddings per year the salon team is very experienced in providing the important essential services you require prior to your big day! Services include all your hair and beauty needs specialising in hair, makeup, nails, spray tan and skin care, with professional advice on the best timing and structure of your bookings and your ideal style for the day. Treatments can be performed in the salon or in the comfort of your own accommodation, if preferred. Whatever you require the salon team has the professional advice and experience to provide you with a seamless and enjoyable experience. Opening hours: Open daily from 9.00am 5.30pm.* *Note: Pre-bookings for earlier times can be scheduled when required Location: The salon is conveniently located in the Main Resort centre near Sails Restaurant and Catseye Beach. It is only 5 minutes walk from the Reef View Hotel with plenty of buggy parking just behind the building. Facilities: Two manicure and two pedicure stations, four hair stations, three make up stations. Staff: Your highly trained and experienced team specialise in wedding up-styles and makeup. Our team of seven are all highly qualified with extensive experience in the industry providing a very professional service that is tailored to your needs. Booking times: Please liaise directly with your Wedding Planner to confirm any booking times once your booking request form has been completed and returned (your wedding planner will send you these forms). Your Wedding Planner and the salon staff are experts in ensuring the timing of these appointments are made at the most suitable time for your wedding day schedule of events and will liaise together to make these appointments for you. General durations include: Hair (1 hour), makeup (1 hour), hair blow dry (45 min), manicure/pedicure (30 min or 60 min option) Note: Any alterations made to your bookings need to be submitted by your Wedding Planner. Please do not contact the salon directly. At least 48 hours notice prior to the booking day is required to make any alterations (subject to availability). A credit card number is required as security to confirm all bookings. Pre-paid treatments are preferred, however treatments can be paid for on the day for in-salon bookings. Cancellation policy: A 50% cancellation fee will apply to all appointments cancelled within 24hours. Additional important client information: Please bring your veil and/or any hair clips with you to your pre-wedding consultation to assist the stylist with your preferred complete look.
Please bring any hair and makeup pictures you like with you to the consultation to assist in deciding the style you prefer. If you would like hair extensions on the day, please purchase your own to match your hair colour and bring these with you to the initial consultation the salon does not hold any hair extensions in stock. Please arrive with clean dry hair on the day for your up style to assist the hair stylist please shampoo and dry your hair the night before your wedding day. Waxing is advised two days prior to your wedding day. Spray tan: Exfoliate and shave prior to this appointment. Post treatment please avoid chlorine pools and wear loose clothes as tan continues to develop over 8 hours. Recommended 1-2 days prior to the wedding day. Retail: The salon sells a variety of products including OPI nail polishes, Youngblood makeup and numerous hair styling products, should you wish to purchase these prior to the day. Recommendations include: For the Bride setting powders, hair spray, lipstick for the day, all available for purchase. For the Bridal Party OPI polish colours available for purchase, Sunescape celebration candles, pre-purchase gift vouchers from $20. For the Groom book a pre-wedding hair trim, Mens Zone facial, de-stress massage at the spa. Mother of the Bride pre-book an appointment for nails, facial, blow dry prior to the day. A: The hair and make-up team will work closely together to ensure the hair and makeup is completed efficiently. The Bride will ideally have her hair completed first and makeup last, leaving this as close to the wedding ceremony time as possible. Bridesmaids will have their hair and makeup completed to fit in with the time schedule and around the Brides request. Q: Why do I have to get my hair done so early? Is my hair going to last the day? A: Your hair needs to be completed 2 hours prior to your wedding to allow time for your dress to be fitted, any pre-photos and time to relax prior to the ceremony. Your hair stylist will take the utmost care and skill utilising expert products to ensure your hair will last the day to its best ability. Please note, depending on the time of year and temperature/weather, your stylist will recommend certain hair styles as being more appropriate and longer lasting than others such as extra product and more sleek up-styles on very windy and humid days. Q: Can I have my whole Bridal party in at the salon at once? A: The salon can comfortably fit a wedding party of six people, with a maximum of two manicure stations, three make up stations and four hair stations. For large wedding parties we recommend our in-room service to allow the stylists to work with more ease and comfort in a timely manner. * For large group bookings for manicures, pedicures, facials and massages please see the Spa wumurdaylin treatment menu. A: Providing you have confirmed an in-room booking for yourself prior to the day to ensure a hair stylist is booked for your appointment then the salon can certainly come to you. All in-room appointments require a credit card deposit and additional charge of $30 per person/per service to an in-salon price for the extra service provided to you in the comfort of your own accommodation. *Note: 48 hours notice must be given to the salon for extra guests to be added to an in-room service. Note to all wedding parties: Please complete your Salon Booking Form and Payment Authority Form, and return to your Wedding Planner to assist in confirming your booking requests efficiently. Note, your Wedding Planner will review these requests and reply once they have been confirmed by the salon these forms are only requests not confirmations. All guests requesting salon appointments are required to provide a credit card number for security of the booking. All in-room bookings require pre-payment once confirmed. No charge will be taken off this card until the day of appointments unless requested for in-salon treatments. Note, all bookings cancelled within 24 hours incur a 50% cancellation fee.
