Uniform for Years 7 to 11 Our uniform policy and dress codes have been drawn up in consultation with students, parents/carers and staff. All clothing/footwear must be clearly marked with the student s name No trainers to be worn around school No coloured sweaters No denim or cord clothing No caps No jewellery other than a wrist watch - this ban extends to the wearing by students of earrings of any kind, including sleepers or any form of body piercing No make-up or nail varnish No visible tattoos Hair should be of a natural colour and cut no shorter than a grade 2 with no patterns cut into the style. All long hair should be tied back during practical lessons. The wearing of hijab: The style permitted will be the traditional design. The item must be navy blue in colour and made of polyester/cotton or a suitable material which is fire resistant. The lower part of the hijab is to be tucked under the blazer, jumper or blouse. No items are to be attached to the hijab. Full school uniform must be worn including a school tie except when summer regulations apply. All other items are only available through Sport Crest. Enforcement of the uniform policy It is the responsibility of parents/carers to ensure that their child comes to school in the correct uniform (see the Home School Agreement). Form tutors are responsible for monitoring uniform. All staff have a responsibility for ensuring that students are correctly dressed in class and elsewhere on the school site. A student wearing non-uniform clothing will be sent to a member of the Pastoral Team, where a uniform pass and break and lunchtime detention will be issued or the student will be given the appropriate item of uniform for the remainder of the day. In the event of repeated uniform infringements parents/carers will be contacted and the student will risk being sent home. In the case of jewellery and other accessories, the student will be asked to remove the item, which will be confiscated and can only be collected by a parent/carer from the school office. The Head is the final arbiter in all matters of uniform and dress. The School reserves the right not to accept the wearing of any item of clothing which is deemed to be inappropriate in terms of the stated uniform list.

Sixth Form Dress Code Sixth Form students are expected to dress appropriately and professionally for their studies. This standard would be similar to clothes worn in a business environment or when attending an interview.
