A good time was had by all and a lot of beautiful gifts were exchanged. The new board was announced and that new board will be: Dolores McMahon, President Stefanie Roy 1st. V P, (Seminar's), 2nd. VP, (Programs) Ginny Smith, Secretary Mary Ann Turner, Treasurer Please be sure that you read your newsletters especially when you know there is something coming up. Class locations can change, we have lost four spots already at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club. January and February meetings will be held at Ryan's steakhouse. Also, remember the website, it should always have the most up-to-date information. Beverly will be teaching two beautiful flowers at Ryan's in January. Beverly will also be teaching a frog bell in February. If you are interested in taking this frog please get in touch with Joan in case you haven t received your bell. The bells are in high demand and we may have to order a few more. Sue will be teaching the Blue Heron reverse glass. That will be at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club. Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas plus a great new year. Hope to see all of you at the meetings in 2018. CCDP Minutes Page 2 COASTAL CAROLINA DECORATIVE PAINTERS Meeting November 4, 2017 Myrtle Beach Yacht and Golf Club, Myrtle Beach, SC. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President Dolores McMahon. President s Report: President McMahon thanked everyone for coming. There is the Christmas Party sign-up sheet in the rear of the room. The Christmas party will be held Saturday, December 2nd. There are also some free paints and patterns in the rear of the room. Stef Roy will be teaching the Eagles Nest today and has brought free spray bottles with water, you can put flow medium in them too. There is also hand sanitizer and paint brushes. Mimi couldn t make it so Joan will do both the Seminars and Programs Report. Seminars and Programs Report: Program Chair told members about Bev Cratty s class on the first Saturday in January (January 6th) which will be the off white flowers on a black background. You can use oyster beige or any beige of your choice to prep your canvas. You will need to do two. Sign-up is in the rear of the room. In March Sue Prine will be teaching a Blue Heron painted in oils and ink. It will be a reverse glass painting. Cost will be $52 and pays for the pen, glass, frame and oils. Members will only have to purchase their own India ink. Bev Cratty will also be doing a class in March, but the Board hasn t decided what it will be yet. Mary Ann Turner will teach a class in August. She will teach us how to paint Christmas Carolers on gourds. Lin Tilman will teach a seminar in November and Stef Roy will come up with a class in April. More information will follow. Treasurer Report: Treasurer Mary Ann Turner let the membership know the balance in the checking account is $4,848.25. motioned to adjourn, Doris Young 2nd, motion passed unanimously. Joan also purchased eyes for the smaller sized frogs. There are still some frog's available for purchase from Joan, she will bring them to Jan/Feb classes (as supply lasts). The price for the small frog eyes will be minimal. Lunch must be purchased at Ryans. Base the bells with sealer of your choice, then base bells and wooden eyes with hauser light green..

The finished piece really is impressive in person. Brushes: Sherry Nelson has a great set of brushes she uses and sells on her website, but I recommend only spending the money if you think you will be doing more oil paintings. For this class you can get away with a couple of brite brushes (short haired flats) (size 4 & 6), also bring a liner. Bring what you have. Don't forget your lunch and beverages.
