Every lot will be sold to the highest bidder, with the auctioneer settling any bidding disputes. Announced changes in catalog information sale day will take precedence over printed material in the catalog. Registrations and Transfers A certificate of registry and transfer will be furnished for each animal at no cost to the buyer within 45 days after settlement of animals purchased. Performance Information EPDs were the current EPDs available at the time the catalog was printed. These EPDs are regularly updated by the Braunvieh Association of America to reflect additional performance information, and may change from those printed in this catalog. Health Proper health certificates for shipment will accompany all cattle. Insurance All animals become the property of the purchaser and will be at purchaser s risk at the time of sale. Breeding Guarantee All cattle in this sale are guaranteed in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Braunvieh Association of America. Any female which is stated to be pregnancy checked safe in calf is guaranteed to be pregnant at the time of the sale. All females are guaranteed to be breeders, with the exception of: a) heifer calves sold at side of dam; b) animals incurring injury or disease after the time of sale; c) animals subjected to gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser; d) females used in embryo transplant after the time of the sale; e) any females safe in calf or with a calf at side at the time of the sale are considered breeders with no further guarantee. Braunvieh Albinism Guarantee Albinism is a Class 2 genetic defect that has been found in a few Braunvieh cattle. It is classified Class 2 because it does not cause severe economic loss. The BAA is diligently working to pinpoint the cattle that are carriers so the problem can be controlled. Until that time, the BAA and principles of this sale feel it is important to disinguish the carriers from the carrier-free cattle. For that reason, all cattle and pregnancies in the Midwest Braunvieh Sale are guaranteed to be albinism free. Cattle that come from known albinism carrier lines have been tested to be albinism free. It will be at the buyers discretion whether or not he or she wants to test additional purchases that have not been previously tested. If your purchase is to be tested for the guarantee, it must be completed and the seller contacted by the buyer within 12 months from the sale date. This allows enough time for all animals and offspring from bred animals to be tested. It will be the responsibility of the buyer to order the DNA test kit from the BAA, pay the $40 test fee, collect the sample and relay the results to the seller of the animal. If the test comes back positive and the buyer wants to implement the guarantee, it will be the responsibility of the seller of that animal to satisfy the buyer with a refund or replacement. On cow-calf pairs sold for one price and bred animals sold that calve after the sale, 1/3 of purchase price will go towards the calf and 2/3 towards the cow for purposes of refund or replacement. Contact the BAA for an up-to-date listing of test results for cattle that have been DNA tested for Albinism. Delivery We will assist buyers in arranging shipment of their purchases.
