WILLOWWOOD ONE TRANSTIBIAL SYSTEM User Instructions Thank you for using the WillowWood One System. Please follow these steps to ensure the most comfort and longest life from the system: Read and follow these instructions. Inspect your liner and sleeve after each day of use. Watch for signs of unusual wear. This may indicate changes in the prosthetic fit. If you see unusual wear, call your prosthetist. Contact your prosthetist if you have any questions about the One System. QUICK-START GUIDE 1. Don the Alpha Liner. 2. Don the One Gel Sock. 3. Don the prosthesis and pull the One Sleeve up onto your limb. 4. If your prosthesis has a LimbLogic vacuum system, refer to the LimbLogic instructions for details on operating the system. 5. Clean the liner and sleeve daily. 6. Disinfect the liner and sleeve weekly. Note: Never store your prosthesis with the top half of the sleeve rolled back onto the socket edge. 1

PUTTING ON YOUR PROSTHESIS Before putting on your liner, make sure that your limb is clean, dry, and free of soap residue. Do not apply any lotion, powder, or lubricant to the limb or to the liner. These products could damage the liner. 1. Invert the Alpha Duo Liner so that the logo is on the inside. Place the end of the liner against the end of your limb. The position of the logo does not matter. The logo can face to the front, to the back, or to the side. Varying the orientation from day to day can prolong the life of the liner. 2. Carefully roll the liner up onto your limb. Make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets between the liner and the limb. DO NOT PULL the liner onto the limb. Pulling the liner may stretch the gel, causing pulling on the skin and discomfort. 3. Invert the One Gel Sock so that the silicone side is facing out. Place the end of the inverted sock against the end of the liner. 4. Roll the sock up onto the limb so that the silicone side is against the liner. Make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets between the One Gel Sock and the liner. 5. Fold the large end of the One Sleeve down onto the socket to expose the open end of the socket. One Sleeve 6. Step into the socket and pull the sleeve up onto the residual limb. 7. If you have a LimbLogic pump, stand up into a full weight-bearing position. Then press the on/off switch to turn on the LimbLogic pump. Read the LimbLogic instructions for more details. 2

STORING THE LINER When the liner is not being worn, it should be stored with the logo side out in a cool, dry place. If the liner will not be used for a long time, cover the dry liner with a clean plastic bag. STORING THE SLEEVE When the prosthesis is not being worn, the bottom portion of the sleeve should be left on the socket. The top half of the sleeve should be stored as shown below. The top half of the sleeve should be unrolled and allowed to drape into socket for protection. It is also acceptable to allow the sleeve to extend out of the socket. CORRECT CORRECT Do not leave the top half of the sleeve rolled back onto the socket edge. The sleeve could be damaged if the prosthesis falls over. INCORRECT 3

DAILY CLEANING Liner The liner must be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each day of wear and disinfected once each week. a Note: Do not scrub the liner. Scrubbing can roughen the surface of the liner, which can then irritate the skin. b c Clean the inside and outside of the liner thoroughly. Use lukewarm tap water and a body soap that does not irritate your skin. Apply the soap with a clean, soft cloth or sponge. Rinse all the soap residue from the liner with water. Dry the liner with a clean, lint-free cloth. d e side with the logo side without the logo Place the liner on the Drying Stand so that the side with the logo is on the outside. Clean your limb with soap and rinse well. Caution: Drying the liner with the logo facing in will damage the liner. Sleeve Gently clean the sleeve with soap and water. There is no need to remove the sleeve from the prosthesis. 4

WEEKLY DISINFECTING Liner a Place a small amount of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol on a soft, clean cloth. Lightly wipe the side of the liner without the logo with the cloth for two minutes. b Rinse the alcohol from the liner with water. c Place the liner on the Drying Stand so that the side with the logo is on the outside. Note: Do not soak the liner in the ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Soaking the liner in alcohol will stiffen the liner. side with the logo Sleeve If the silicone part of the One Sleeve touches your skin, it will need to be disinfected. Once a week, disinfect the area of the silicone that touches the skin. 1. Place a small amount of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol on a soft, clean cloth. 2. Lightly wipe the silicone with the cloth. 3. Rinse off the alcohol with water. Note: Do not soak the sleeve in the ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. Soaking the sleeve in alcohol will stiffen the sleeve. 5

ASSEMBLING THE DRYING STAND The Drying Stand must be assembled from the two base components and the tube that are included in the box. Begin by sliding the notch on Part A into the notch on Part B as shown. A B Then place the tube onto the assembled base. For a shorter Drying Stand, trim the tube to the desired length before placing the tube on the base. Failure to follow these instructions will void the warranty. The liners must be fit and dispensed by a qualified professional. Please understand that WillowWood will not ship liners directly to your home. If you do not understand these warnings, please discuss them with your prosthetist. Caution: Alpha products can melt or burn if exposed to high temperatures or flame. Do not expose your Alpha product to these conditions. Caution: This Alpha product is intended for use on a single patient. Use of the product with multiple patients could lead to cross contamination between patients. Warning: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this product away from babies or children. Warning: WillowWood One Transtibial System components have been designed and tested for use only with other WillowWood One Transtibial System components. Use with other sealing systems may result in loss of suspension resulting in injury. 6
