LINT LOVES BUNNY FADE IN: INT. LAUNDRY AREA - DAY Clothes TUMBLE in a dryer. The tumbling clothes stop. The dryer BUZZES. A, HUMMING a tune. (sing-song) Hmmm-hmmm-hmmm... Hmmm... HANDS open the door, reach in, remove the clothes, and drop them in a basket. The Hands pull out the lint catcher and peel off a big wad of lint-- A 2"x3" triangular wedge of gray lint falls, unnoticed, to the floor. INT. FLOOR - DAY The lint wedge sits up. With a blue button and a coil of black string as eyes, the wedge blinks and looks around in wonder. He wiggles blobby arms. He grins. This is LINT. FEET in slippers almost step on him-- Lint dodges out of the way and scuttles along on triangle points. Lint moseys along the floor, his pointy feet slipping a bit as he gets used to walking. The Woman's Voice MUMBLES. MmmmMMMMMMmmmm... Hands push a Dust Mop along the floor-- Lint jumps out of the way, scurries, makes it around a corner-- The Dust Mop pushes on past down the hallway.
2. INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY Lint, relieved, catches his breath. He turns to look around-- To see A HALF-DOZEN DUST BUNNIES, dark gray, of varying shapes and sizes. They stare, suspicious. Lint gives a friendly wave. The Dust Bunnies sniff and turn away-- Except for one particularly lovely Dust Bunny with beautiful, sparkly eyes. This is BUNNY. Lint strolls up to her. He gives a bow. Bunny does a polite curtsy. The other Dust Bunnies watch, not very friendly. Lint wants to impress Bunny. He finds a toothpick on the floor and curves it into a cane-- And there's a wad of gum--he shapes it into a top hat and sticks it on his head. He shuffles his pointy feet in a little dance, the ol' soft shoe. Bunny GIGGLES. Lint gives a goofy grin. Bunny turns to the other Dust Bunnies with a questioning PEEP. They shake their heads, unimpressed. Lint tosses the hat and cane, digs in the dust in the corner, and finds three red-hot cinnamon candies in the shape of hearts. He brushes off the dirt... He arches an impish eyebrow...and juggles the heart candies in the air. Bunny LAUGHS in delight. Lint lets the red-hot hearts drop back to his blobby hands one by one, then bows and presents one heart to Bunny. Bunny takes Lint's heart. She bats her eyes, clearly smitten.
3. The other Dust Bunnies turn away, indifferent. They start to roll off. Lint shrugs. Bunny SIGHS-- The Woman's MUMBLING Voice! Hmm. Hmm-MMMMMMmm... The Hands and Feet appear pushing the Dust Mop-- Straight for the Dust Bunnies-- Bunny SQUEAKS and rolls fast to the Dust Bunnies, bumps them out of the way-- The Dust Mop swipes-- Bunny and the others jump and YELP in panic, trapped in the corner- Nooooo! LINT The Dust Mop starts to swipe again-- Lint knocks Bunny out of the line of fire-- And leaps in front of the Dust Mop-- He yanks bits of lint off himself-- And throws them in the Dust Mop's path. Hm? Lint scurries past the Dust Mop-- Lint flings more and more bits of himself-- The Dust Mop turns from the trapped Dust Bunnies-- To follow Lint, mopping his leavings. HmMMMMM! Hmmm! Lint motions to Bunny--
4. INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY Bunny SQUEAKS a reply-- While the Dust Mop is occupied, Bunny herds the other Dust Bunnies down the hallway. Lint leads the Dust Mop away, leaving more bits of himself in his wake-- The Dust Mop hurriedly mops them up... INT. HALLWAY/BEDROOM - DAY Bunny motions the other Dust Bunnies into the bedroom. She glances back at Lint, worried... Lint is but a few tufts of himself, his button eye gone... The Dust Mop looms above him-- Bunny SQUEALS and barrels back toward Lint-- The Dust Mop pushes puffs of debris away and keeps going into the kitchen. INT. KITCHEN - DAY Hands prop the Dust Mop against the wall. Feet WALK AWAY. A PHONE RINGS. The Woman's Voice answers. Bunny GASPS-- (on phone) Hm-MMMM? Mmmmm... Lint is just a small bit of PANTING, shivering, one-eyed fuzz. Bunny goes to him. She gives a gentle PEEP. Lint can't reply. She YELPS to the other Dust Bunnies.
5. They roll up to Lint and gather around. Bunny gives an emphatic SQUEAK, and they all carry Lint down the hallway. INT. BEDROOM - DAY The Dust Bunnies set Lint down under the bed, where all Dust Bunnies are safe. They CHIRP and CHEEP as they gather dust... And re-mold it around Lint... Putting him back together. Soon Lint is rebuilt as a fuzzy hybrid of lint and dust. Bunny finds a cracker crumb and sticks it on Lint as a second eye. She gazes at Lint with adoring eyes and tenderly kisses him. A beat. Then Lint blinks and sits up. He gives Bunny a goofy grin. He does a little dance with his new feet. He's back. The other Dust Bunnies bounce in joy. Lint and Bunny kiss, SIGHING, in love. And we FADE OUT.
