Guides & Tips Men s Suiting 1. Respect the tie. DO: Button the shirt all the way up. Hide your top button with the knot. DON T: Leave the top button unbuttoned. If it s too tight, you don t have the right shirt. 2. Shoulders must fit. DO: Make sure shoulder pads end with the shoulders. DON T: Wear a suit that doesn t fit these rules. You re not in the NFL. 3. The button rule. DO: Make sure the top button of a 2-button jacket or the middle button of a 3-button falls at or above the navel. DON T: Wear a jacket where the buttons fall below the navel. 4. Length matters. DO: Make sure your jacket falls at your thumb knuckle when your arms are relaxed at your sides. DON T: Wear a jacket that bunches up when you cup it with your arms relaxed at your side. 5. Trouser length makes or breaks the look. DO: Hem your pants to allow a one inch break or less. DON T: Be the guy that rolls his pant in every 5 minutes. 22 ELEMENT UNIFORM STYLE GUIDE - GUIDES & TIPS

Guides & Tips Women s Suiting 1. Shoulders DO: Make sure the seams are centered on your shoulders. DON T: Wear a jacket where the seams extend past your shoulders. 2. Sides DO: Purchase a blazer that fits comfortably at your widest point (stomach, chest, or shoulders). DON T: Base your fit on the narrowest part of your body no matter what that might be. 3. Length DO: Choose the length of your blazer based on your height. DON T: Alter based on what you see on others. 4. Sleeves DO: Make sure the end of your blazer sleeves should reach your wrist bones. DON T: Let your sleeves cover your hands, and avoid exposing too much arm. 5. Waist DO: Make sure the waist fits comfortably. If you fall in between sizes, buy the bigger size and have the pants altered. DON T: Show the world that you know the muffin man. 6. Length. DO: Have the pants altered to your shoes accordingly. DON T: Drag your pants on the ground. The hem should just graze the floor. 24 ELEMENT UNIFORM STYLE GUIDE - GUIDES & TIPS

Accessorize Guides & Tips One of the most important rules is the placement of the lapel pin. It should always be positioned on your Left side. The pin should sit upright on your lapel and should be fastened tightly to ensure that it doesn t rotate when you move. Jacket Placement: On the upper left lapel (next to your pocket square if you are wearing one) On most jackets there is a button hole, or at least a stitched button hole outline and you should pin the flower there. If there is not, you should still pin the flower in that location. Shirt/Sweater Placement: Pin your flower to your upper left chest (where an embroidery would be). There are two ways to wear a lapel flower pin: with the pin showing or concealed. Having the lapel flower s pin showing through the lapel adds a little more pop. Either way, please be careful of the pin s sharp tip. The main thing to be concerned with when wearing your chosen design is to wear it with the utmost confidence! Lapel Flower + Nametag (1): Lapel Flower should be worn on the left side with name tag directly below. Please make sure name tag is visible and can be read Pride Pin Placment (2): Pride pin is worn on the right collar. 2 1 Tie & Pocket Square Tie - DO Tie - DON T Pocket Square - DO Pocket Square - DON T Make sure the knot is tight. Over tighten. This can damage the fabric. Use as a decorative addition to your outfit. Match your tie. Make sure the tail (narrow part) is shorther than the blade (front/ wider part). Let the tail show under then front of the tie. Keep it simple. Go with a square fold. Get too fancy and overpower the look. Align the tie down the middle of the shirt. Be the guy with the crooked tie. Keep your tie looking fresh. Wear a frayed and beat-up tie. 26 ELEMENT UNIFORM STYLE GUIDE - GUIDES & TIPS
