Uniforms Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God s sight. I Peter 3:3-4 NOTE: THE PRINCIPAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE FINAL DECISIONS ON ANY ITEM OF CLOTHING. A neat and properly-attired student will have a positive influence on the attitudes and study habits, he or she exhibits. Everyone is expected to dress in Christian modesty. Early Education (EE) Uniform for the Early Education area is not required. However, students are expected to dress neatly and modestly, in a way that represents our school and our Lord in a positive manner. Super hero clothing (i.e. Batman, Superman, Spider-man, etc.), skeleton, skull or any offensive clothing is NOT permitted. This includes backpacks, shoes, bedding and endorsement of any kind. Each child must have at least ONE spare set of clothing with them in-case of an accident. We request NO belts on pants since we encourage the children to be independent in taking care of themselves in the bathroom. We strongly recommend tennis shoes because they allow for safer playing in the classrooms and on the playground. No, open-toe shoes, flip-flops, or cowboy boots allowed. We ask that students not wear expensive jewelry as these can be damaged or lost during play. Necklaces are discouraged due to choking hazards. Students may not have any visible markings or jewelry that is not in accordance with CCS Statement of Faith and/or Core Values. Semi-permanent or permanent markings or tattoos may not be worn. heads, which include Mohawks and patterns or designs in the hair, will not be allowed. Moderate highlighting may be allowed. Highlighting or hair color that is extreme style will not be allowed. Girls: Hair should be neat and off the face; Bangs cannot touch the eyebrows. Boys: Trimmed, cleancut haircut; Hair must be trimmed about the ears, shaped up the back and off the eyebrows; no permed, bushy hair, or hair long enough to flip up in the back or on the sides. Head Gear: No head coverings of any kind (hats, bandanas, hoodies, towels, etc.) are permitted to be worn inside buildings. No combs, sunglasses or picks are to be worn in hair or on the head. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons. Grades K-8 County Christian School has a uniform policy for students in grades K-8th. All of the uniform items are available through Educational Outfitters or Flynn & O Hara. All items will need to be purchased from these vendors. Personal Appearance Cosmetics, including nail polish, that do not alter the natural appearance may be worn. Shoes and socks must be worn during the school day. Any pictures, messages, and symbols must not contradict the mission and value of the school. Semi-permanent or permanent markings or tattoos may not be worn. Body piercing is not permitted (including earring in earlobe). Excessive or expensive jewelry may not be worn during the school day. Low necklines, open backs, or bare midriffs are not allowed. Shorts and skirts should be at least knee length. Hats and sunglasses may not be worn in the classrooms. Hair must be neat, combed and clean. Haircuts that are extreme style are not acceptable. Hair Hair should be neatly groomed (off the face). Must be neat, combed and clean. Haircuts that are extreme style are not acceptable. Boys should have masculine styles and girls should have feminine styles. Shaved and partially shaved heads, which include Mohawks and patterns or designs in the hair, will not be allowed. Girls: Hair should be neat and off the face; Bangs cannot touch the eyebrows. Boys: Trimmed, clean-cut haircut; Hair must be trimmed about the ears, shaped up the back and off the eyebrows; no permed, bushy hair, or hair long enough to flip up in the back or on the sides. If a staff member deems a hairstyle to distract from the school s core values or from the students ability to focus on their studies, they may be asked to change it. Head Gear: No head coverings of any kind (hats, bandanas, hoodies, towels, etc.) are permitted to be worn inside buildings with the exception of the school s early re-enrollment incentive hoodie. No combs, sunglasses or picks are to be worn in hair or on the head. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons. Uniform logo: T-Shirt Tuesday (Missions Shirts) CCS supports CFC global mission initiative in Nicaragua by selling a yearly t-shirt which can be worn with jeans on every Tuesday during the school year except when school leadership authorizes a different uniform for that day. T-shirt Tuesday falls under the heading of Casual Day and all those guidelines must be adhered to. Only current year mission shirt can be worn during the specified school year. Enforcement of Wardrobe Guidelines We count on our students and parents to work cooperatively with their teachers and the administration in being faithful to follow our school guidelines. Upon the first uniform infraction, a written notice will be given to the student. Upon the second infraction, a written notice will be given and a call will be made to the parents will be notifying them of the infraction. Upon further infractions, information will be sent to the Principal and the student will lose casual day privileges for a period of time as deemed appropriate. On occasions, it may be necessary to call you to bring a change of clothing for your child. We thank you ahead of time for your support. - 30 -
