SIXTH FORM UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS GIRLS LOWER SIXTH UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS Tailored, plain (no pattern, two-tone or stripe) black, navy or charcoal grey two-piece skirt or trouser suits. Must be matching in fabric and colour, top and bottom. No wrap around skirts or skirts with inappropriate slits or visible zips etc. are allowed. Lycra skirts are not allowed as they do not hold their length or shape and lycra trousers are too tight fitting. Skirt length must be below the knee and trouser length must be below the ankle but not trailing on the ground. Good suppliers include Next and M&S although the School Shop also supplies a classic ladies black skirt suit in a range of sizes. Plain white blouses with sleeves and a revere collar (tailored blouses may be worn over the top of the skirt as long as the midriff is covered). The top button must be above the cleavage and white, plain vests may be worn under the shirt. Shirts, jumpers, cardigans and vests must not hang down below the jacket. Must not have button-down collar Plain navy, black or grey v-neck jumper or cardigan. Must be in a plain rather than chunky knit, as it has to fit comfortably under a suit jacket. Sweatshirts are not allowed. Black, navy or flesh coloured tights no patterns/seam or black socks Plain and unadorned black leather shoes with maximum heel of 5cms. Boots, trainers, plimsolls, moccasins, and deck shoes are not allowed and ballet pumps should be avoided as they provide little support to the feet. Stiletto heels are not acceptable (ie. the base of the heel must be at least 2cm squared) or a thick crepe sole No belts BOYS LOWER SIXTH UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS Tailored, plain (no pattern, two-tone or stripe) black, navy or charcoal grey two-piece suits, matching in fabric and colour, top and bottom. White shirts with stiff collar. School tie and the knot must be flat-fronted ie. a Windsor knot House tie - Plain navy, black or grey v-neck jumper or cardigan. Must be in a plain rather than a chunky knit, as it has to fit comfortably under a suit jacket. Sweatshirts are not allowed. Black leather shoes (no boots, deck shoes, plimsolls or trainers) with no thick crepe sole. Socks must be black or dark grey. No decorative belts with large buckles, are to be worn, or braces. Shirts, jumpers, cardigans and vests must not hang down below the jacket NB: Skirts/trousers tend to get washed more frequently than jackets with fabric fading as a result and no longer matching the jacket. We would recommend either washing both pieces together, or buy 2 skirts/trousers which match the one jacket, so that students can alternate. Raincoats/overcoats in a single dark colour, may be worn over suits as students are walking round the campus but not in Chapel or during lessons. Must be as long as the suit jacket and be without adornment ie. fur lined hoods, etc.

UPPER SIXTH UNIFORM Suits: Jumpers/: Cardigans Shirts: Shoes: Coats: Extras: Must be matching in fabric and colour, top and bottom Trouser hems must be at least ankle length and not fall below the shoe and trail on the ground Trousers should be tailored ie. not appearing to be skin tight Skirt length for girls, must be below the knee Lycra trousers or skirts are not to be worn they are too figure-hugging and the skirts do not hold the correct length Skirts should not have slits or visible zips at the back Denim may not be worn Belts should be co-ordinated and discreet students may not wear wide belts across their hips If girls wear tights, they must be plain and without seams Must be v-necked and in a single co-ordinating colour with the outfit Must be in a plain rather than a chunky knit, without zips or buttons, as they have to fit comfortably under a suit jacket. Boys may wear waistcoats, as long as they match the fabric of the suit. Sweatshirts are not allowed. Must be tailored and have a firm collar and tone in with the outfit worn. Shirts must be long enough to ensure that the stomach is not shown and be a comfortable fit. The top button of the girls shirts, must be above the cleavage Boys must wear ties at all times, with their top button done up. The knot must be flat-fronted ie. a Windsor knot Cowboy -check shirts are not to be worn, or brushed cotton/fleecy shirts, or denim Shirts, vests, cardigans and jumpers must not hang down below the suit jacket. Shoes must be plain (no patterns) and in dark and co-ordinating colours No boots including ankle boots No trainers, canvas shoes, moccasins, or embroidered/beaded slippers or deck shoes Shoes with stiletto heels are not to be worn the heel on girls shoes must be a maximum height of 7cms and the base of the heel must be at least 2cms squared. Make-up should be subtle and the school rules regarding visible body piercings still apply. Girls may wear nail varnish as long as it is neat and in the colour spectrum set by the Housemistress. If you have any concerns with regards to what is and what is not acceptable, please consult your Housemaster/Mistress before any purchases are made.
