New level of Management Reporting There will be new in-depth reporting available to allow you to make better decisions. Let s start with the base concepts Stock can be analysed by Department or Supplier. Sales can be analysed by Department, Supplier or Salesperson. Some Suppliers have Brands. Please use the Brand field on the stock item screen. We are expanding our reporting so you can report both Stock & Sales by Brand. A Department is a physical type of stock e.g. a Ring, Earring, Bracelet etc. Our standard departments have departments by metal and stones e.g. Diamond Rings, Coloured Stone Rings, No Stone Rings, Silver Rings. When we say Silver this includes Gold Filled, Gold Plates, etc. When we talk Gold we include Platinum, Palladium, etc. Is Duraflex a Department? No, it is a Supplier with multiple Brands. By putting the various Duraflex items into different Departments it allows you to Report by Duraflex (Supplier Reporting) or by Department Silver Rings, etc. Gives you the best of both worlds. Why should I stay with the standard 43 departments? If you wish to participate in Super Store, see how your store is performing against others then you need to stay with the standard department structure. There a various features being developed that will only be available to retailers who are using the standard 43 departments. How do I get further analysis within a department? E.g. There is only one department for Pearls and I want to see my annual Pearl sales broken down by Rings / Earrings / Bracelets / Necklaces, etc. See the next page on the new level of management reporting. How do I get management reporting by Product Attribute? e.g. I need my Diamond Ring sales to be broken down by Ring Style e.g. Solitaire, 3-Stone, Cluster, etc. See the next page on the new level of management reporting.
Using the Item Details within The Edge to get sub-department or Product Attribute analysis. For each department there can be 16 custom fields one can be the Sub Department, others for Product Attributes. E.g. An item in the Pearl Department. Item Type is your sub-department; the other questions are Product Attributes. You will be asked if you want to use these sub-departments and product attributes feature. The advantage is increased management reporting detail e.g. you will be able to see the analysis of Pearl Sales by Earrings / Bracelets / etc. or by Pearl Type / Shape. Appendix A is the Sub-departments and Product Attributes lists. These will be maintained Internet and updated to your computer automatically.
