Vivianna Vivianna The designer, Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe a passion for silver Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe (1927 2004), often known simply as Torun, was one of the most important and celebrated Swedish silversmiths. A master jeweller, she moved to Paris in 1956 where she quickly gained an international following. Torun s designs were inspired by the natural shapes of nature - flowers, leaves, swirls and the flow of water. Her unique gift then lay in being able to shape solid metal into these asymmetrical and seemingly flexible forms. Her work has been pronounced a milestone in the history of modern jewellery and is sober and minimalist, yet utterly captivating. Her collaboration with Georg Jensen began with the Vivianna Bangle in 1969 and continued to the end of her life. Her legacy is unparalleled.

KOPPEL KOPPEL The designer, Henning Koppel Henning Koppel (1918 1981) was one of the most influential Danish designers of the past century and is responsible for what we have come to understand as Danish design. He ushered in a new era of sculptural functionalism - his mission was to make everyday life products beautiful as well as practical - and with this approach, he pioneered the clean lines we now associate with modernism. Educated as both painter and sculptor at the Royal Danish Academy and later in Paris, he found international fame as a silversmith. He first collaborated with Georg Jensen in 1946, which marked the beginning of his journey into designing jewellery, hollowware and flatware. In every way, he was groundbreaking: his jewellery was unlike anything ever created at the Georg Jensen studio in its first 40 years; his hollowware was extraordinary. When he launched the Koppel watch in 1978, again it was revolutionary - fluent, clean lines housing a precision timepiece in a wholly original way. It was a watch rethought, both beautiful and functional. Throughout his life, Koppel continued to create iconic pieces, winning many awards including the Milan Triennial, the International Design Award and the Lunning Prize. His influence is almost unparalleled and the integrity and appeal of his designs remain vital and undiminished. Koppel s first works a series of necklaces and linked bracelets resembling whale vertebrae and microscopic organisms - were miniature masterpieces in imaginative modelling. Henning Koppel created some of the most iconic pieces of our time, many of which have defined the design lexicon of the 20th century.

CONCAVE CONCAVE The designer, Nicolas Barth Nussbaumer delivering the unexpected Swiss-born Nicolas Barth Nussbaumer (b. 1972) is a highly regarded watch designer who lives and works in Neuchatel, the heart of traditional watchmaking in Switzerland. After specialising in jewellery and watch design at the Art and Design School in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, he worked for celebrated watch designers Rodolphe and Di Modolo. In what was to become his signature departure from convention, he established his own design house at the tender age of 24. Concave, launched in 2006, was Barth Nussbaumer s first collaboration with Georg Jensen and he has subsequently gone on to design other highly sought after collections. He is a pioneer, creating new forms for modern horology that remain intriguingly steeped in the centuries-old watchmaking tradition of La Chaux-de-Fonds.

After-Sales, Care & Maintenance After-Sales Services A watch is a sophisticated and delicate piece of machinery. Georg Jensen s fully Swiss Made watches contain up to several hundred individual parts and like any high-precision instrument, they require regular care and maintenance to ensure they function perfectly and look good. We recommend that your watch be professionally serviced by an approved Georg Jensen Service Centre. This will ensure the repair is carried out by a highly skilled watchmaker familiar with Georg Jensen watches and that only original parts are used. While we endeavour to offer a complete as possible after-sales service, it is not always possible to service very old models. We try however to ensure that spare parts remain available for all models up to 10 years after the watch is taken out of the assortment.

After-Sales, Care & Maintenance International Warranty A Georg Jensen watch purchased from an authorised dealer or reseller is covered by a two year international warranty starting from the date of purchase. The warranty is the assurance that the watch has been supplied in perfect condition and will remain free of material and manufacturing defects during this two year period. The warranty comes into force when the warranty card accompanying the watch is correctly completed, including purchase date, model number, serial number and authorized dealer s name and contact details ( valid warranty card ). All details must be clearly legible and the corresponding serial number must be clearly visible on the watch. During the warranty period and provided the watch is accompanied a valid warranty card and original purchase receipt form the authorised Georg Jensen dealer or reseller, Georg Jensen will replace or repair any defective component resulting from a material or manufacturing defect as noted by our technical team. In the event that repairs are unable to restore the normal conditions of use of your Georg Jensen watch, Georg Jensen guarantees its replacement by a Georg Jensen watch of identical or similar characteristics. Should a watch require repair, please bring the watch (together with valid warranty card and purchase receipt) to an authorised Georg Jensen dealer (see www.georgjensen.com for the nearest store). It is to be noted that the International warranty does not cover: Straps, bracelets, sapphire crystal glass or batteries Surface treatments or coatings (such as PVD or gold plating) External parts (such as screws or diamonds) Normal wear and tear and aging (such as scratches on glass, or color fading and material alterations) Damage resulting from a lack of care, negligence, or misuse of the watch by the user Moisture damage resulting from improper use of the crown and/or pushers in or under water Defects resulting from any modifications or alterations performed by persons unauthorized by Georg Jensen Any further claim against Georg Jensen for damages, beyond those specified in this warranty, is totally excluded, except mandatory statutory rights the purchaser may have against the manufacturer. Care and Maintenance Guidelines A watch requires regular care and maintenance in order for it to look good and continue working properly. The recommendations below will help keep your watch in top condition. Regular servicing: It is important that services are carried out by an approved Georg Jensen Service Centre. Service intervals depend on how the watch has been used, maintained and on the climate in Battery service / Basic Service Maintenance Service Complete service / Overhaul which it has been kept. Recommended service intervals are as follows: Recommended service intervals 2 years 3 years 6 years Water: All Georg Jensen watches are rated to a certain level of water resistance, with the water resistance rating marked on the back of the watch. A water resistance rating does not mean the watch is water proof; merely that it is designed and guaranteed to resist a specified water pressure at the time of purchase. The water resistance rating is calculated using a static water pressure test under lab conditions, expressed in units of atmospheric pressure (e.g. 3 ATM means 3 x normal atmospheric pressure, or 30m depth). Given that these cannot accurately reflect real world conditions, it is important that a safety margin is allowed. Please see the table below. After-Sales, Care & Maintenance Water(continued): Recommendations: 3 and 5 ATM rated watches: although water resistant should be kept away from water and should not be submerged unnecessarily. If the watch does get wet, pat dry with a soft cloth and leave to dry at room temperature. 10 and 20 ATM rated watches: these can be submerged provided the crowns are securely closed. Again the watch should be gently dried with a soft cloth after becoming wet. Before submerging a 10 or 20 ATM watch always ensure the crown is firmly pushed or screwed into place. After being submerged in salt or chlorinated water, always rinse the watch with fresh water and pat dry with a soft cloth. This will remove any chemicals that could damage the gaskets. Crowns and chronograph pushers should never be operated underwater. While some watches are designed to be submerged, leather straps are not designed for this and will be damaged by water. We therefore advise against wetting and/or submerging your watch if it is supplied with a leather strap. If condensation is seen on the inside of the crystal some time after your watch has been immersed in water, contact Georg Jensen After-Sales Service, as the watch may need professional care. Water resistance checks: A watch s water resistance is provided through a series of gaskets or seals that protect the internal components from dust, condensation and moisture that may penetrate the case when splashed or fully immersed in water. Water resistance cannot be permanently guaranteed as the protective gaskets degrade with time and exposure to environmental conditions. Extremes of temperature, cosmetics, perfumes, other chemicals, greasy substances and chlorinated or salt water all affect the integrity of the gaskets and exposure to these will affect watch s water resistance. Water resistance can also be affected by shocks or impacts to the case or crown. We recommend that water resistance is checked annually at a Georg Jensen Service Centre. This ensures that a recognised test is performed on the watch by a qualified technician to determine the integrity of the watch s gaskets and whether any maintenance is necessary. Cleaning: A build-up of grime on the watch can affect the watch s operation and the integrity of the case. As such watches should be cleaned regularly to ensure that they remain free of dust and dirt. Watch cases can be cleaned with a soft cloth or soft-bristle brush dipped in mild soapy water, then wiped again with a cloth dipped in clean water. Once clean, the watch should be patted
dry with a soft cloth and finally polished with a lint-free polishing cloth to work up a shine. (NOTE: before cleaning the crown should be securely closed so that water does not penetrate the case. Watches with a water resistance rating of under 10 ATM should not be submerged in water). Solid gold watches should be polished regularly with a soft piece of wash leather. Bracelets can be cleaned with a soft-bristle brush and mild soapy water and rinsed clean with fresh water. Again these should be patted dry with a soft cloth and finally polished with a lint-free polishing cloth to work up a shine. Leather straps can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, or brushed with a soft brush.(see Straps & Bracelets below for further details). Sharp or abrasive cleaning materials should always be avoided. Chemicals: Direct contact with certain chemical substances must be avoided since they can damage the bracelet, the strap, the case or (importantly) the gaskets that provide water Temperature: Avoid exposure to extremes of temperatures (greater than 60 C / 140 F, less than 0 C / 32 F). Watches should not be taken into saunas, steam rooms or hot baths. Avoid sudden or rapid temperature changes as this may cause a light condensation to appear under the crystal. This condensation resistance. Substances to avoid include solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetic products and chlorinated swimming pool water. is normal under these conditions and will disappear as the watch adjusts to the new ambient temperature. This will not affect the functioning of the watch. However the condensation persist, please contact a Georg Jensen store or authorised service centre After Sales Service Magnetism: Where possible, avoid contact with objects that emit strong magnetic fields, such as hifi speakers, smartphones, computers, airport x-rays, refrigerators, etc. Magnetic fields can affect the movement of the watch causing it to gain or lose time (i.e. run fast or slow). If a watch has become magnetized seek advice at a Georg Jensen Service Centre.
After-Sales, Care & Maintenance Shocks/Impact: While our timepieces are designed to withstand the minor jolts and bumps expected during normal wear, violent impacts can easily cause damage. It is therefore advisable to: Avoid extreme impacts or shocks to the watch as these may damage the movement, crystal or case. Not drop the watch intentionally and remove it before entering situations that may result in an impact to the watch or strong jolts to the wrist - especially when playing sports (e.g. soccer, golf, tennis etc.). Sapphire Crystals: The sapphire crystal glass in your watch is highly scratch resistant, but not scratchproof. Care should be taken to ensure the glass does not come into contact with abrasive materials or sharp objects that may mark the surface. Scratches: To maintain the high gloss shine of your watch case and/or metal bracelet, avoid wearing other bracelets on the same wrist, as these can scratch the watch surface, particularly if they contain diamonds. Diamonds can also scratch the sapphire crystal cover. Mechanical Watches: Mechanical watches are driven by the power stored in a spring. In order to keep time, they need to be regularly wound, either by hand (as with manual wound models) or automatically through the inclusion of a special mechanism that uses the movements of the wearer to wind the spring (as in automatic models). All mechanical movements are composed of many minute springs, plates, screws and gears somewhere between 50 and 300 working in perfect synchronicity to power the watch. The sheer number and intricacy of the components makes mechanical watches highly sensitive, more so than quartz movements. However, if properly maintained, their longevity is a given. Besides their longevity, mechanical movements are highly coveted because of their engineering the wearer will usually have an appreciation of the high level of skill, precision and craftsmanship involved in creating each individual timepiece. Always wind the crown in a clockwise direction. When winding, do not force the crown when you feel the spring become tense toward the end of the winding process. Generally around 30 turns of the crown should be sufficient to
fully wind the watch. When fully wound most mechanical watches have a power reserve of around 40 hours. Daily winding is recommended. Automatic watches are wound by the movement of the wearer, it is therefore important that the watch remains in motion if it is to remain wound and working accurately. For watches that are worn infrequently or by those who are not physically active, a watch winder is recommended. Automatic watches must be correctly fitted to the wrist. If the watch strap is too loose the automatic winding function may be compromised. Automatic watches can also be manually wound by turning the crown clockwise in position. It is recommended that if the watch has completely run out of power, it is manually wound (with about 20 turns) before wearing. If the watch is not worn for extended periods, the movement should be wound regularly to prevent the lubrication from drying out. Magnetic sources should be avoided (for example, computers, smartphones, loudspeakers, airport metal detectors, etc.) as magnetic forces may have an adverse effect on your watch s movement. In extreme cases, this can cause your watch to stop. Straps and Bracelets: Leather & skin straps: Our alligator and calfskin watch straps are made of premium quality leather to exacting international standards and are rigorously tested to ensure they are of the highest quality. If used under normal conditions, a leather strap usually enjoys a lifespan of around 12 months; longer if meticulously cared for. However this is highly dependent on how the strap is used and looked after. materials (both natural and chemical) do not expose it to harsh direct light (sunlight or artificial) for extended periods of time do not keep it near an open heat source (artificial or natural fire, ovens, heaters, etc.) if the strap gets wet, pat dry with a soft cloth and leave the strap to dry at normal room temperature (a cool temperature is also fine; do not dry it next to a heat source). After Sales Service It is normal for natural skin products to age and change colour with time and use this is a part of their appeal. However, regular contact with water, sweat, chemicals, sunlight etc. may accelerate the process and prematurely age the leather. To prolong the strap s lifespan: keep it away from corrosive and discolouring Should a leather strap become dirty or stained rub the surface with a damp cloth moistened with water. Ensure the strap does not become saturated with water and dry immediately with a dry cloth. Mild soap can be used if necessary, by soaping the water and dipping the cloth into the soapy water before cleaning. Bracelets: Bracelets should be kept clean and free of dirt in order to ensure they function properly (see the Cleaning section above). Should a bracelet need to be shortened or extended, the watch should be sent to an authorized Georg Jensen store or After-Sales centre.
Technologies Watch Components Lugs Projections on the watch case that secure the strap or bracelet; sometimes called horns. Bezel Ring around the crystal that holds it in place. Bezels may be movable or fixed. Dial The time indicating part of the watch, together with the hands; visible below the crystal. Sub-dial A small dial inside the main dial that gives information not provided by the main watch dial, such as found in a chronograph. Strap/Bracelet Leather, rubber, fabric, canvas or other non-metallic material. It must be nonmetal to be considered a strap; a metal version is known as a bracelet. Crystal The glass cover of a watch, it protects the watch face. Can be made of glass, plastic or synthetic Sapphire. Hands Watches generally have three hands that move over the dial to show the hours, minutes and seconds, but more complicated watches may have more. Crown Used to set the time and calendar. On mechanical watches it can also wind the mainspring. Pusher Button(s) located outside of the case that control specific functions of the watch. Pushers are most commonly found on watches with a chronograph complication. Aperture/Window Small opening that displays date, day, month or moon-phase.
Jewel Small sapphires or rubies located on the movement that reduce friction by acting as bearings for gears in a mechanical watch. Case Container that protects the watch movement and forms the body of the watch. Can be round, square, oval, tonneau or rectangular. Technologies Rotor Also called an oscillating weight, this is a feature of automatic winding mechanical watches. The rotor rotates freely to wind the mainspring and store power. Movement The watch engine - the inner mechanism that keeps time and powers the various functions; also called the calibre. Movements are either quartz or mechanical.
Technologies Watch Movements The movement of a watch is its working mechanism, the engine that drives all the watch s functions. It moves the hands to tell the time and powers any additional complications such as the calendar, 2nd time zone hand and chronograph. Movements broadly fall into two categories quartz or mechanical, with mechanical being further divided into manual or automatic. A simple way to differentiate between quartz and mechanical watches is to look at the second hand: on a quartz watch, it has the tick-tick motion that moves once per second; on a mechanical watch it is a smooth, sweeping motion. Quartz Movements: A quartz movement is powered by a battery and uses this energy to drive the hands. Quartz movements are highly accurate and efficient, requiring minimal maintenance aside from occasional battery replacements. How a quartz movement works: The battery sends an electrical current through a small quartz crystal, electrifying the crystal to create vibrations at an almost perfectly constant frequency. These vibrations keep the movement oscillating and drive the motor that moves the watch hands. As long as the battery is fully powered, the electric current remains constant, which explains the incredible accuracy of good quality quartz watches. Mechanical Movements: Mechanical movements are driven by the power stored in a spring. How a mechanical movement works: Mechanical movements use energy from a wound spring (rather than a battery) to power the watch. The spring stores energy and transfers it through a series of gears and other springs to drive a regulating mechanism that eventually turns the hands. There are two types of mechanical movement found in luxury timepieces today: manual and automatic, each with unique characteristics. Neither is superior more a matter of personal preference. Manual Movements: Manual or hand-wound movements are manually wound by turning the crown. They are considered the most traditional of all movements and the technology driving these watches is hundreds of years old it is the very essence of the Swiss watchmaking tradition. How a manual movement works: Turning the crown several times winds the mainspring and stores potential energy. The mainspring then slowly unwinds, releasing energy through a series of gears and springs that ultimately powers the watch hands. Winding intervals (how often the watch needs to be wound to keep accurate time) depend on the power reserve capacity of the movement. Usually this is around 40 hours. Some watches require daily winding, while others need winding only every few days. Automatic Movements: In automatic or self-winding movements, the mainspring is wound by a rotor, which is set in motion by wrist movement. As long as the watch is worn regularly, it will maintain power without requiring winding. How an automatic movement works: Automatic movements work much the same way as manual movements, with the addition of an oscillating metal weight called a rotor. The rotor is connected to the movement and rotates freely. With each movement of the wrist, the rotor spins, thereby winding the mainspring automatically. Technologies Winding intervals depend on how often the watch is worn, as watches featuring an automatic movement may still require manual winding. If the watch is worn every day and the wearer is moderately active, it will maintain timekeeping functions without winding; if it hasn t been worn for an extended period of time, it will need a quick wind to garner initial power. It is possible to use a watch winder, which keeps the watch fully wound when not being worn.
Technologies Watch Complications A complication is any feature or function in a watch, other than the display of time. Complications vary in complexity, from simple date and calendar functions, to more complex dual time zone and chronograph complications, and eventually to high complications such as minute repeaters (which issue an audible series of chimes that indicate the time) or tourbillons (which counter the effects of gravity by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage). The more complications in a watch, the more difficult it is to design, create, assemble and repair. A typical date-display chronograph may have up to 250 parts, while a particularly complex watch may have a hundreds more. Watches with several complications are referred to as "grand complications". Date Complications: A date complication simply displays the date. A day-date complication displays the day of the week in addition to the date. Dates are typically shown numerically through a date window (or aperture) on the dial. A date complication with date or day-date requires some input from the wearer: these watches automatically reset after completing 31 x 24-hour cycles, representing a full month. They therefore need monthly adjustment to ensure the correct date is displayed during months of less than 31 days. To compensate for leap years and 30-day months, watchmakers have developed advanced complications, such as annual and perpetual calendars, which track the calendar year more accurately, ensuring the date doesn t have to be adjusted each month. The date is set by winding the crown. The date function has to be manually adjusted at the end of 30-day months and at the end of February, to ensure the proper date is displayed.
Annual calendar: An annual calendar complication is capable of discerning the short months from the long (30- day months v.s 31-day months) and requires no adjustment over the course of a year. Once the watch is set (usually on 1st March) it will, if kept wound, automatically adjust the date for each month, accounting for the cycle of 30- and 31-day months. It will, however, need an adjustment once a year at the end of February (to account for the 28- or 29-day month). As long as the watch is kept wound, the date will only require setting once a year. Perpetual calendar: As the name implies, this is a timepiece that never needs resetting (with the possible exception of daylight saving). It tells the time, the date and sometimes the day and month. The key to this ingenious complication is that it can also calculate the year. This means it can accurately keep time over generations. Technologies
Technologies Chronograph: A chronograph is more commonly referred to as a stopwatch. It enables the wearer to measure intervals of time without interfering with the normal time-telling function of the watch. Chronographs are incredibly accurate in recording time - from 1/100th of a second up to 12 hours and are controlled by two buttons (also referred to as pushers ) that control its functions start/stop and reset. Power Reserve Indicator: A mechanical watch contains only a certain amount of power in its spring to power the functions of the watch before it stops. The power reserve indicator exclusive to mechanical watches - measures the amount of power remaining in the watch by measuring the tension in the mainspring, and the amount of time the movement can continue to run without requiring winding. A fully wound mechanical watch usually possesses sufficient energy for a few days before it needs to be wound again. GMT / Dual Time Zones: Watches with a GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) or dual time zone function are the perfect way to manage time in multiple areas of the world, making them the perfect choice for regular travellers or those who work globally. current location is generally displayed on the main hour/minute/second hands, while time in the second time zone (perhaps the time in your home city) is displayed via an additional hand, generally on a 24-hour counter. GMT or Dual Time Zone watches display the time in two zones simultaneously. Time in the Delta Classic 42 mm, GMT offers a secondary time via the fourth central hand. This second time zone (displayed as 24H time) enables the wearer to keep track of two time zones at the same time. Technologies Watch Materials Sapphire crystal: The glass covering of the watch face, known as the crystal, is designed to protect the dial. There are three main types of crystal found in watches: acrylic, mineral and sapphire, with Sapphire crystal the glass of choice for premium watches. It is used exclusively in the Georg Jensen collection for its exemplary durability. Sapphire crystal is three times harder than mineral crystal. In fact, only a diamond is harder and is the only substance able to scratch Sapphire crystal. It is for this reason that we use powdered diamonds to polish Georg Jensen Sapphire crystals to their perfect, almost invisible sheen. Georg Jensen Sapphire crystal is acid resistant, shatterproof and scratch resistant. Case Materials: Gold: Georg Jensen s luxury watches use solid 18 carat gold, renowned for its beauty and strength. 18 carat gold can easily be identified from the hallmarks applied by the manufacturer: -Swiss Assembly Mark (St Bernard s Head) -Georg Jensen Hallmark -Fineness Standard (Au750) Stainless steel : The stainless steel (316L) used in Georg Jensen cases and bracelets is of very high quality and one of the best alloys available. It is resistant to corrosion from perspiration and salt (sea) water, has a low nickel content making it less likely to cause allergies and can be polished to a high lustre.
Super-Luminova: Luminance is a vital design element. It has become so common however, that we rarely think about how to tell the time in sub-optimal light conditions. This wasn t always the case. In the early 19th century, watchmakers recognised the luminescent properties of radioactive radium and its potential in lighting watches. It was used for decades, until replaced by tritium equally luminescent but not as radioactive. In the 1990s, a far more ideal substance was discovered luminova. These photoluminescent or afterglow pigments have efficient light generating properties, but are completely non-radioactive and non-toxic. Super-Luminova is available in a variety of colours, from white and the popular pale green through to black. The latter may seem counterintuitive but black luminova does emit light, albeit not as brightly as lighter colours. Super-Luminova features extensively in the Delta collection. How it works: Super-Luminova, a granulate or powdered substance, is painted onto the requisite features, typically the hands, dial, indexes or bezel. After absorbing light, the pigments are effectively charged by the light source and illuminate the features. If sufficiently charged, luminova can glow in the dark for several hours. Larger markings can guarantee full legibility for a whole night. PVD Coating: PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is a method of adding a strong yet thin layer of colour or stronger metal onto a metal surface. As PVD is additional to the base stainless steel, the colour may eventually wear off exposed parts such as the crown, lugs and around the edges. This is recognised as the normal patina of everyday wear. Technologies
Technologies Mother-of-pearl: Mother-of-pearl is the hard, iridescent layer of shells such as oysters, abalone and mussels and has long been used in decorative finishes and inlays. As it is a naturally occurring substance, no two mother-of-pearl surfaces are the same, giving rise to dials that are absolutely unique. Thanks to new technologies, the colour of mother-of-pearl can be adjusted, ranging from pearly white through to midnight black, all of which can be seen in our collection.
Technologies Diamonds: As with our jewellery, Georg Jensen pays particular attention to the beauty, quality and setting of our diamonds. All Georg Jensen diamonds are as follows: Colour : Rare white (F-G), top Wesselton colour Clarity : VS Cut : Good (round brilliant cut) Carat : This varies by product line to ensure that the diamond sits harmoniously within the broader watch design All diamonds on a particular timepiece will be of identical size to provide balance and symmetry and enhance the jewellery aspect of the piece. Once fixed onto the watch, the pieces go through rigorous testing to ensure the stones are properly set. Responsible diamonds: All Georg Jensen diamonds are sourced responsibly and ethically. We wholeheartedly support the UN Kimberly Process and are committed to the elimination of conflict diamonds. Further diamond information the 4 Cs: Cut When the cut of a diamond is good, the stone sparkles more vibrantly as light is better reflected from one facet to another and then dispersed through the top of the stone. Georg Jensen uses only round brilliant cut diamonds, with a cut rating of good or Scan D.N. This is considered the optimal cut for giving a stone its beautiful sparkle. Colour The range of colour ranges from colourless through to increasing colour, or light. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no colour or hue and consequently, a higher value. Georg Jensen uses only rare white stones (F-G), with a top Wesselton colour. Clarity This refers to the absence of inclusions, or blemishes, and is a measure of purity. All stones have inclusions and the fewer there are, the more rare the stone. The degree of purity of Georg Jensen diamonds is VS - very small inclusions indicating they are of very high purity. Carat The carat is a measurement of how much diamond weighs. All other things being equal, the higher the carat weight, the more expensive the diamond. Technologies
Technologies Water resistance Water resistance is a feature of most premium watches and a core element of sports watches, including the Delta collection. A combination of specific design features ensure that the inner mechanisms of the watch remain free from water, moisture and dust. The critical components of the advanced water resistance seen in sports watches (with a 10 ATM rating or more) include: Screw-down case back: Essential to any high performance sports watch, a screw-down case back ensures water resistance for greater water pressures. Georg Jensen s Delta Dive watches are water resistant to a maximum of 20 ATM. case. The crown then screws into the thread of the tube, and gaskets are fitted to create a water tight seal. The water resistance rating is calculated using a static water pressure test under lab conditions, and is expressed in units of atmospheric pressure (e.g. 3 ATM means 3 x normal atmospheric pressure, or 30m depth). Given that these cannot accurately reflect real world conditions, it is important that a safety margin is allowed when using the watch. Please see the table below. Screw-in crown: The crown is a potential weak point it is afterall an opening in the case. Tachymeter A tachymeter is the scale used to measure average speed in distance unit/hour, based on the time needed to traverse a set unit of distance (e.g. 1 km). How to use a tachymeter The chronograph (stopwatch) measures the time it takes to cover this distance, while the tachymeter bezel provides a direct reading of the average speed achieved over that distance. For example, to measure your average speed while driving, start the chronograph at a road side mile/ kilometre marker, then stop it exactly one mile/kilometre further on, at the next marker. The chronograph stop second hand uses the tachymeter scale marked on the bezel to indicate your average speed in km/h or miles/h for the distance you have just travelled. Technologies
