Elation Hair & Beauty Training Salon offers a range of qualifications to achieve to enable each learner to achieve the qualification suited to them. Students will advance on their technical skills and gain confidence and communication skills whilst working with clients of all ages. Throughout the course they will also advance on independent learning, commination skills, personal presentation, interview skills, job searching, CV building, dealing with the public, dealing with complaints, problem solving, target setting, body language, personal hygiene, working as a team, confidence building, dealing with money, telephone skills, fashion awareness including latest trends, industry awareness, selfemployment, punctuality, attendance and daily self-evaluation. Students aged 16 to 18 years of age from any previous school can enrol on the following courses:- Level 1 Hair and beauty combined NVQ/VRQ Level 2 Women s Hairdressing or Barbering VRQ level 2 Hair & Beauty combined VRQ Level 3 Hairdressing & Barbering NVQ Level 1 Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy Each course is full time and up to one year, which consists of the learner providing portfolio evidence of assessments achieved on full paying clients. There are limited spaces available for each course therefore students require passion and dedication for the subject. Students will also have the opportunity if needed to re-sit Maths and English GCSE to achieve a grade C or above whilst on the course. If successful will need to purchase a full kit and uniform by September, which will cost approximately 200 and these will be used every lesson. You will also have regular homework and deadlines to complete the work therefore computer literacy skills will be required. Hair & Beauty combined Full time programme Level: 1 Programme length: 6 months 9 months 16 18 year old male or female students, no previous hairdressing knowledge required however you will need 4 GCSE including English and basic computer skills. Programme summary: This is an introduction to hair and beauty industry and provides you with the opportunity to develop a basic understanding of the skills needed to work in the sector. Throughout the duration of the course you will gain practical skills and knowledge to assist you onto the level 2 course and enable you to progress onto the combined level 2 course in hair and beauty. VRQ Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing or Barbering Part time programme Level: 3 Programme length: 1 year Programme summary: This programme provides you with the opportunity to develop the underpinning knowledge and skills required within the industry at level 3 to enable you to progress to a senior stylist in a salon. You will be using a variety of creative techniques such as cutting, colouring and styling on male and female clients at a higher level to a higher standard that will stretch your ability within the industry to enhance your career and business.
