Announcing the Tricia Langman collaboration PFI is pleased to announce a collaboration with one of the nation s rising textile designers, Tricia Langman. British-born Langman has designed for Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Halston and Donna Karan. Her collections have been featured at the Costume Institute in New York City. She created a hand-painted gown for Celine Dion to wear at the Grammy s. Locally, she created a collection for Pendleton. TRICIA LANGMAN COLLABORATION WORKSHOPS HAND PAINTING AND DYEING Saturday-Sunday, July 14-15, 9:30 am-3:30 pm $249 (includes kit) Textile composition, color and materials and inspiration boards. Use dyeing techniques of the past to create scarfs and fabrics. Learn tie-dye and hand painting techniques, shibori, overdyeing, rust dyeing, vegetable dyeing and batik. FABRIC PRINTING Saturday-Sunday, July 21-22, 9:30 am-3:30 pm $249 (includes kit) Fabric printing techniques. Composition and repeat patterns. Produce fabric samples, a length of fabric and create surface designs suitable for garments or home decor. Learn screenprinting, stenciling and devoré, Japanese katazome printing, block and mono printing techniques. SCULPTURAL EFFECTS & OPEN STUDIO Saturday-Sunday, July 28-29, 9:30 am-3:30 pm $249 (includes kit) Pleat, crinkle, drape, twist, fold and use sculptural effects and heat embossing to create sculpturally experimental fabrics. Open studio project: Students have the opportunity to explore further all the techniques they have learned over the past two weekends screenprinting, shibori and batik to produce a length of fabric or a decorative art piece.
