My name is Amanda Amaral, I am a rising senior at Fordham College and an international student from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I am studying Economics with a double major in International Political Economy - Fordham's fancy name for a major that combines international studies and economics - with a minor in Communications. I am co-founder and president of Fordham's International Student Society (GT Society) and just finished my term as Vice-President of our Model UN club. When I am not busy with classes, you can find me binge watching medical drama TV shows or trying out new recipes in my kitchen. This will be my fourth and sadly last time as a GTA. I have met so many great people and all of my best friends through this program, and owe some of the best times of my undergraduate career to it. I m an upcoming senior at Fordham College at Rose Hill as an International Political Economy major, and a Biology minor on the Pre-med track. I had such a wonderful time freshman year at the Global Transition Program and am so excited to do it again as your GTA. Hello, and welcome, Students of 2022! I am Zheng Ruisen and you can call me Ray. I come from Shenzhen, which is a lovely and modern city in coastal Southern China. I am a junior in Fordham College at Rose Hill (FCRH), and double majoring History and Medieval studies (challenge me if you think that s a weird combo. NO, IT IS NOT). I am also a member of 2018-19 Mannion Society, which comprised of the best history major students of our campus. I am also minoring in ancient Greek, and this is a hard language to learn. In addition to these, I love talking to people from all different background and listening the stories that I never hear of. I also love foods, and enjoying hanging out in NYC, although I do not really have leisure time now. As an international student myself, I know very well all of feelings you might have when you get here because I was just like you last year, and Global Transition helped me a lot adjusting the new environment. Hello, Global Transition Students! My name is Jin-Woo Kim; my friends call me John. I was born in South Korea and came to New York as an international student when I was nine years old. I'm fluent in Korean and English and in the process of learning Chinese. I'm a rising junior at Fordham College of Rosehill and majoring in International Political Economy and minoring Business Administration. This is my second year as a Global Transition Assistant. Beside from Global Transition Assistant, I'm currently a president of Korean Student Association (KSA), a photographer for Fordham Fashion for Philanthropy, a secretary for Doctors without Borders, a board member for Global Transition Society, and an international ambassador at the Fordham Rosehill admission office. I'm a very active student at Fordham, and I enjoy meeting new people from different background. When I was doing Global Transition as a freshman, I met all of my friends, and they are from all around the world: South Korea, Germany, France, Italy, and Greece, Kosovo, China, Philippines, Croatia and more. I believe friendship you make at Global Transition will enhance your experience at Fordham. Wanida Yana (Ting) Hi and welcome to Fordham! I m Ting and I m originally from Bangkok, Thailand, otherwise known as the land of scorching hot weather and amazing food. While I m a rising senior (!) at FCRH with a major in International Studies and double-minor in Sociology and Humanitarian Studies, I ve been studying abroad in Copenhagen this semester and eating + ogling my way through Europe (that s a pic of me on a snow mountain in Kosovo ). At Fordham, I m involved with several clubs such as the amazing Global Outreach, No Lost Generation, United Nations Association, CircleK, and Fordham Women s Empowerment; feel free to hit me up if you have any questions about them. I love reading, tagging friends in memes on Facebook, fangirling over my favorite K-pop band, educating myself on political and social justice issues, and exploring new food and music places. There s so much to do in NYC, and I can t wait for you to explore all that the city has to offer. My name is Emmanuella Chioke, most people call me Emma and I m a senior at Fordham College Rosehill with a major in International Political Economy and a minor in French. In 2015, I came to New York from Nigeria and had my global transition orientation and 3 years later, it is still one of my better experiences here at Fordham. Hi! My name is Evie Pu! I am an ascending sophomore majoring in economics in Fordham College Rose Hill. I m the member of ascend student organization. I currently do not have a part time job on campus yet, but I would love to apply one in the following semester. I have applied one intern in city, and one in Shanghai this summer.
