My name is Amanda Amaral, I am a rising senior at Fordham College and an international student from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I am studying Economics with a double major in International Political Economy - Fordham's fancy name for a major that combines international studies and economics - with a minor in Communications. I am co-founder and president of Fordham's International Student Society (GT Society) and just finished my term as Vice-President of our Model UN club. When I am not busy with classes, you can find me binge watching medical drama TV shows or trying out new recipes in my kitchen. This will be my fourth and sadly last time as a GTA. I have met so many great people and all of my best friends through this program, and owe some of the best times of my undergraduate career to it. I can't wait to meet all of you and hope to make your transition into Fordham as smooth and exciting as possible. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about Fordham, NYC, tips on the best places to eat, or if you just want to talk! Welcome to Fordham!

Hello, future Global Transition Students! My name is Mavluda Aslova. I was born in Tajikistan and grew up in New York. I m an upcoming senior at Fordham College at Rose Hill as an International Political Economy major, and a Biology minor on the Pre-med track. I had such a wonderful time freshman year at the Global Transition Program and am so excited to do it again as your GTA. I love traveling as well as meeting people from all over the world so this program is an ideal experience. Transitioning to a University at a place away from home can seem challenging, but I will be there to help you every step of the way and welcome you into the Fordham family. I am easy to approach so have a look out for me next year, I would love to get to know all of you! See ya in August! Hello everyone! My name is Yuhan (Selina) Zhu and I am a rising sophomore. I am a finance major in Gabelli at Rose Hill. I love cooking, baking, travelling, and crafting. I come from China, so my background as an international student makes me enjoy meeting people with different cultural backgrounds, and I love to share my stories with others all the time. I really enjoy my last year spent at Fordham and NYC. The school and the city have so much to offer and I am sure you all will have an amazing time here!

My name is Nicole Asaba. I am Ugandan. Three words that describe me; resourceful, attentive, and dependable. I'm currently a junior in the Gabelli School of Business studying Business Administration, Marketing, and Global Business. I chose Fordham because I wanted a school with various opportunities to prepare me for my career and a place that can be a home away from home. Ever since I began my time here, Fordham has exceeded my expectations. Mantra; Keep your spirit light and your goals in sight. I m Chihwei Peng, Rose Hill class 2021, if you like biking, food, music and Fortnite, I m the guy to go to.

Hello, and welcome, Students of 2022! I am Zheng Ruisen and you can call me Ray. I come from Shenzhen, which is a lovely and modern city in coastal Southern China. I am a junior in Fordham College at Rose Hill (FCRH), and double majoring History and Medieval studies (challenge me if you think that s a weird combo. NO, IT IS NOT). I am also a member of 2018-19 Mannion Society, which comprised of the best history major students of our campus. I am also minoring in ancient Greek, and this is a hard language to learn. In addition to these, I love talking to people from all different background and listening the stories that I never hear of. I also love foods, and enjoying hanging out in NYC, although I do not really have leisure time now. As an international student myself, I know very well all of feelings you might have when you get here because I was just like you last year, and Global Transition helped me a lot adjusting the new environment. So fear not, for the GT team, I included, will become your friends and help you in any way we can. We will see you in August! Xihang Du Student at Fordham University Gabelli School of Business. Major in marketing. Fluent in Mandarin and English, speaks basic Cantonese. Also, I studied Korean for two months, so I can speak some basic Korean. I m interested in music, I can play drums and learned guitar for a long time. Moreover, I like to play badminton and basketball. I am involved in some business clubs on campus but I haven t attended any core business classes yet.

Hello, Global Transition Students! My name is Jin-Woo Kim; my friends call me John. I was born in South Korea and came to New York as an international student when I was nine years old. I'm fluent in Korean and English and in the process of learning Chinese. I'm a rising junior at Fordham College of Rosehill and majoring in International Political Economy and minoring Business Administration. This is my second year as a Global Transition Assistant. Beside from Global Transition Assistant, I'm currently a president of Korean Student Association (KSA), a photographer for Fordham Fashion for Philanthropy, a secretary for Doctors without Borders, a board member for Global Transition Society, and an international ambassador at the Fordham Rosehill admission office. I'm a very active student at Fordham, and I enjoy meeting new people from different background. When I was doing Global Transition as a freshman, I met all of my friends, and they are from all around the world: South Korea, Germany, France, Italy, and Greece, Kosovo, China, Philippines, Croatia and more. I believe friendship you make at Global Transition will enhance your experience at Fordham. As an international student who has been studying in the United States for more than ten years, I know the struggle of countering new cultures and customs. I hope my experience can help you with your transition to Fordham University. I'm looking forward to meeting you all in our Global Transition program in August.

Wanida Yana (Ting) Hi and welcome to Fordham! I m Ting and I m originally from Bangkok, Thailand, otherwise known as the land of scorching hot weather and amazing food. While I m a rising senior (!) at FCRH with a major in International Studies and double-minor in Sociology and Humanitarian Studies, I ve been studying abroad in Copenhagen this semester and eating + ogling my way through Europe (that s a pic of me on a snow mountain in Kosovo ). At Fordham, I m involved with several clubs such as the amazing Global Outreach, No Lost Generation, United Nations Association, CircleK, and Fordham Women s Empowerment; feel free to hit me up if you have any questions about them. I love reading, tagging friends in memes on Facebook, fangirling over my favorite K-pop band, educating myself on political and social justice issues, and exploring new food and music places. There s so much to do in NYC, and I can t wait for you to explore all that the city has to offer. Although moving to a new place can be nerve-wracking, I hope Global Transition will be able to help you as much as it helped me 3 years ago. I wish you all a great summer and see you in August! My name is Christine Ibrahim Puri. I am from Nigeria. I am a sophomore at Fordham College at Rose Hill with an intended double major in Economics and International Political Economy. I love Fordham because as a Jesuit institution, there are always people looking out for you and constantly sending friendly emails to remind you of the strong support system available on campus. In my free time, I enjoy exploring New York City, taking pictures, volunteering with children, gardening at St. Roses Garden, taking long walks at the Botanical Gardens and scrapbooking!

My name is Yike He and I prefer to go by Will. I am at the Gabelli School of Business and my major is marketing. I love to watch movies and play basketball. I also record hip hop music on my own (old school only). I am a die-hard Lakers fan. I am a member of the Business of Sports Society club at Fordham. My name is Emmanuella Chioke, most people call me Emma and I m a senior at Fordham College Rosehill with a major in International Political Economy and a minor in French. In 2015, I came to New York from Nigeria and had my global transition orientation and 3 years later, it is still one of my better experiences here at Fordham. I hope that when you all go through this experience it will have as much meaning to you as it did to me. When I m not studying for finals and midterm, you can find me at the office of multicultural affairs, the social innovation collaborator lab or in the music practice rooms.

Hi! My name is Evie Pu! I am an ascending sophomore majoring in economics in Fordham College Rose Hill. I m the member of ascend student organization. I currently do not have a part time job on campus yet, but I would love to apply one in the following semester. I have applied one intern in city, and one in Shanghai this summer. I love music and singing so you name the song and I could possibly sing it. Also, I m crazy about cosmetics and watching make up YouTube videos. Most of the time, people cannot find me on the campus because I am in the city every chance I can get to enjoy all of the food. Sights and culture that New York City has to offer.
