unseen Another Year, Another Success The of Unseen, the photography fair and festival for new discoveries, was held from 18 to 21 September 2014 in Amsterdam s Westergasfabriek. More than 22,500 visitors immersed themselves in a world full of new experiences, adventures and insights. We present an overview of this successful with a closer look at the inspiring fair ground and the extensive side programming on the festival ground. Fifty-three leading international galleries exposed hidden treasures at Unseen Photo Fair 2014. Originating from a wider spread of international cities including Jakarta, Seoul, Budapest, Bratislava, the galleries wholeheartedly embraced the Unseen concept and celebrated new photography and upcoming talent. Strong sales to museums, international collectors and first-time buyers were reported throughout the fair. introduction Growing out of a sincere enthusiasm for photography, the festival programme is an integral part of Unseen. The extensive side programme of Unseen 2014 included the Unseen Special Exhibition Anima on Photo, a presentation of the Foam Magazine Talents, a celebration of independent publishers, beautiful books and their makers at the Unseen Book Market, and the Unseen Living Room, a place for the exchange of dialogue, lectures, debates on artistic expression and ideas. Initiatives including the BankGiro Loterij Talent Collection, the New Talent Photography Award and the Outset Unseen Exhibition Fund were founded to foster the careers of young, emerging photographers.

The Festival Square was a great hang-out and meeting place for professionals and photography enthusiasts. The Unseen Book Market celebrated independent publishers, beautiful books and their creators.
