EDITORIAL Armory Center for the Arts Photography & UI/UX Design CLIENT PROJECT APPROACH Armory Center for the Arts Pasadena, CA Creating content to promote studio programs, exhibitions and events, and managing social media accounts. As the Armory s branded color is red, many of our designs, especially on social media utilize the color red. When using social media, I often shoot photographs or obtain them from coworkers and Photoshop them. Features: Book covers, magazine covers and spreads, newsletters, posters, and other print forms. PHOTOGRAPHS I take a lot of photographs of artworks, art students, exhibitions, events, and Photoshop the photographs as needed then create interesting captions to go with each photograph. These posts are scheduled using Hootsuite and the Facebook scheduler.

Armory Center for the Arts Armory Center for the Arts STUDIO BANNERS The above banners were designed with the same branding used from the cover of the fall catalog which features the artwork of one of our teaching artists. Using Illustrator, I combined the imagery with text to display infront of the Armory building. We also used this imagery for our web banners, (pictured left). STUDIO CATALOG This catalog was created in two weeks with several revisions and changes made. With guidance from the Studio Department, I made sure to include several photos of student artwork and students making art throughout the catalog and kept the colors consistent with the 3 colors on the cover.

BROCH URE The brochure is created to be engaging, playful, easy to understand, and truly represents what the organization offers. It primarily targets college students, but can also serve parents and community members by providing information about the center. I kept the design welcoming by including some facts on the initial spread that are captivating and allow for negative space. I used photos from the Humboldt flickr account that depict a variety of fun, exciting, and day-to-day activities that students at HSU participate in. I also included Success Stories of students who landed amazing opportunities thanks to the center.

UI/UX LACMA Exhibition: Repurpose Identity & UI/UX Design CLASS PROJECT APPROACH Graphic Design Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA Select an architect for a mock LACMA exhibition. Design a logo for the exhibition. Design ticket stubs, a mobile application, and a website. I was unfamiliar with architects, but I knew I wanted to choose someone who designs with sustainability in mind. I also wanted the promotional materials for the exhibition to reflect the type of work the architect does which included repurposing items and making them into something beautiful. Features: User Interface and User Experience works range from web design to mobile app design. These designs are all done with the user in mind. WEBSITE I made a welcoming, easy to read landing page and kept the menu minimal. Whether someone is looking at the mobile application or the website, they are able to obtain the same information. When an image is selected, a slider pops up and makes the rest of the page fade away.

LACMA Exhibition: Repurpose LACMA Exhibition: Repurpose MOBILE APP The first image shows the landing page, followed by the menu. The menu consists of a biography of David Hertz, a collection of his works, and a contact page. When creating the mobile application, I kept the initial pages welcoming by using minimal icons. When a theme is selected, a page with images and transparent boxes with the title and brief information about the work appears. However, if the user selects a specific work then they can read the full details and simply swipe left or right to view the rest of the pieces in that collection. TICKET Hertz uses repurposed materials from old buildings and even air planes to create organic and sustainable buildings. The icons on the tickets represent Residential, Commercial, and Special Projects which are the shapes the tickets form when they are folded and the trees are all die cuts that fold upward. Folding directions are on the backs. The tickets are printed on Neenah Environmental Paper. I want to encourage people to keep the tickets which led me to craft tickets that can be constructed into mini 3D versions of Hertz s work. I carefully designed the tickets in a way where the title of the show, the name of the artist, and the date would all be easily legible when it is folded.

PACKAGING Sweet Scientist Beer Identity, Illustration, & Package Design CLASS PROJECT APPROACH Advanced Graphic Design Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA Design a beer bottle label, carrier, and logo using the name we randomly chose and West Coast Brewery. Extensively researched various types of beers and why people drink them. I chose to do a fruit beer because they are popular, especially amongst microbreweries for its sweet taste and vibrant color palette. Features: A few examples of packaging class projects I have completed for completely different targets; fun bandages for children and fruity beer for adults. PACKAGE The design is vibrant in color scheme and will stand out on a shelf. After going to a few shops to browse their beers, I saw many had a vibrant color scheme and bright colors. I wanted my beer to stand out in the heard which is why I contrasted my bright color scheme with a black background.

Sweet Scientist Beer ILLUSTRATION Features: Hand drawn illustrations completed as digital illustrations using Adobe Photoshop and a drawing tablet. LABEL I created a pattern of science related symbols that wraps around all of the design to give the background more depth and to tie into the theme of the term scientist. I researched the most popular fruit beers and found that raspberry, cherry, and strawberry are popular flavors which is also how I developed the color scheme.

Concepted the design and slogan to represent the educational experiences students will obtain from their summer which reflects the values of the organization and what it offers to students. Created the final design using Adobe Illustrator. Digital Illustration Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA Draw an original figure in a detailed environment utilizing the techniques gained in class so far. Traditionally, I use color pencils and markers to draw, I decided to create an illustration that resembles this style. I wanted to create something cute, fun, and warm which led me to illustrate a yeti making a snow cone for herself in the forest.
