CLOTHING SYSTEMS THAT PROTECT AGAINST FOUL WEATHER AND LOW VISIBILITY For 25 years, we have led the way in developing practical clothing systems for hazardous environments where high visibility is crucial. We provide reliable and comfortable clothing for every situation and setting that our users encounter, whatever the time of day and whatever the season. Conditions such as these demand high visibility and effective protection from the cold and rain. Our garments are CE marked to ensure they meet the special requirements that often apply. Our clothing systems also have many useful features and functions that are designed to maximise comfort, safety and durability, wherever you work. Our goal is to satisfy the needs and requirements of individual users. They need to feel safe and secure in order to do their jobs to the best of their abilities. So we keep on pushing development forward by conducting research and rigorous testing in our own Climate Lab. Over the last three decades we have also built close relationships with leading climate physiologists and materials developers. But despite all our testing and research, the biggest advances are made through working closely with our customers. After all, they know best.
TAIGA LEADS THE WAY IN DEVELOPING CLOTHING SYSTEMS FOR PEOPLE WHO WORK IN CHALLENGING CONDITIONS. INFRASTRUCTURE IS ONE OF THE AREAS WE SPECIALISE IN. To create clothes that really work, it is necessary to think from the inside out. We do this for our customers. That is why we create clothing systems where all the garments have specific functions in relation to each other.
WE NEVER DO ANYTHING WITH Materials, zips, the position of pockets and the type of seams are carefully chosen on the basis of our knowledge about how people should dress in different weather conditions. This is done in close collaboration with our customers. We place emphasis on clothing that allows maximum freedom of movement whilst working, whatever the weather and environment. PROTECTION AGAINST DRIVING RAIN AND WET SNOW Taped seams. Waterproof and vapour-permeable materials. Impregnated and quick-drying materials. Watertight, water-draining pockets. Adjustable closure at openings. Large buffer zones protect against capillary moisture absorption. Hoods allowing freedom of movement, designed to protect against rain. Double front panels over zips. PROTECTION AGAINST BITTER COLD AND STORMS High-density materials. Adjustable closure at openings. Insulating materials. Fleece-lined thermal pockets. 3D mesh at knees and elbows protects against cold ground. Easy to add extra thermal insulation. Windproof zips or protective panels. Windstopping material in both the Warm and the Secure layers. Extra-high collar. Hoods allowing freedom of movement, designed to protect against cold and wind.
HOUT KNOWING THE REASON The functions shown here are a selection of functions from various garments. IN HIGH-RISK ENVIRONMENTS, FUNCTION AND STORAGE SOLUTIONS ARE CRUCIAL Smart, easily accessible pockets for A4 pad, tablet computer, mobile phone etc. Woven velcro strips longer life. Storm flaps on all zips. Reinforced wear areas. Zip garage protects the chin. Drawstrings are concealed to prevent catching. Minimalist design for optimal functionality. HARDWEARING AND FLEXIBLE DOWN TO THE LAST DETAIL Ventilation zip for adjusting thermal balance. Pre-shaped sleeves and legs for increased working comfort. Reinforced wear areas for longer life. Materials specially chosen for each function in the system. Minimalist clothing system to save weight and volume. LÅGUPPLÖST Thermal lining compatible with most jackets. Moisture-wicking materials in all layers. Smart braces make it easy to add extra clothing.
INFRASTRUCTURE. TIPS ON HOW TO DRESS FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE DRY WARM CE SECURE The layer closest to the body that eliminates moisture and keeps you dry. The middle layer that insulates and generates heat inside the clothing system. The outer layer that protects against the weather and other external factors. OBS, SKISSBILD Inväntar foto, toronto-jacka CLIMATE PROTECTION SYSTEMS Your work clothing should keep you dry and warm. The right thermal balance is crucial, since your body temperature strongly influences your performance. Cold and heat stress have a negative impact on comfort, stamina and brain function. That is why we developed the Climate Protection System, which provides outstanding ease of movement and thermal balance. The system is based on the layer-on-layer principle. Dry wicks away moisture and keeps you dry. Warm keeps your body warm and can be supplemented with another outer layer if necessary, and Secure protects against the weather and other external factors.
MATERIALS & CE STANDARDS MATERIALS GORE-TEX A Teflon membrane that is breathable, waterproof and windproof. Its quality is durable and not affected by washing. 2-LAYER GORE-TEX The membrane is laminated against the outer fabric so that water runs off it immediately. 3-LAYER GORE-TEX A GORE-TEX -membrane laminated between two layers of fabric. For increased durability. GORE-TEX MICROGRID LINER A GORE-TEX -membrane that hangs freely from the outer material. Its special design prevents the membrane s function from being impaired if the outer fabric is damaged. 3-LAYER GORE-TEX FLAMELINER A GORE-TEX membrane that hangs freely from the outer material. Used for our flameproof products, which must meet very high heat protection requirements. WINDSTOPPER Totally windproof, water-resistant but with maximum breathability. CROSSTECH A windproof and waterproof material that protects against liquid-borne contagion and hazardous chemicals. TAIGA-WP Windproof, waterproof, breathable clothing. TP-122 Material in 65% cotton/35% polyester, exceptionally windproof and water-resistant. TAIGA SOFTSHELL SUPER- STRETCH An extremely flexible, windproof and waterresistant 4-way stretch fabric. TAIGA SOFTSHELL FR A fireproof, windproof, water-resistant material with outstanding comfort and function. NOMEX An aramid fibre that is completely fireproof so does not require fire protection impregnation. POLARTEC THERMAL PRO HIGHLOFT A material with exceptional insulating ability in relation to its weight. Fast-drying, excellent moisture-wicking ability. POLARTEC WINDPRO HARDFACE A stretch fabric providing high comfort, excellent insulation and effective wind protection. POLARTEC POWERSTRETCH A very warm, flexible material with relatively low water absorption. POLARTEC POWERDRY ODOUR RESISTANT A 2-layer polyester weave used for base garments. Exceptional wicking ability. THERMOLITE PLUS Material with hollow fibres. Excellent insulation and moisture wicking ability. CORDURA A hard-wearing and very lightweight polyamide material. POLYESTER High tolerance to many chemicals, extremely low water absorption level. POLYAMID A strong, lightweight material. Generally used in outer shells. BIOACTIVE A moisture-wicking material with good antibacterial properties. MODACRYLIC/COTTON A fabric made of flameproof fibres. Very high colour resistance, making it possible to achieve excellent visibility according to EN 471. ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS OEKO-TEX A global certification system covering a range of criteria and requirements, which guarantees that our materials do not contain harmful substances.
