Uniform Guide For years 7-11

School dress code All students must have: A black blazer with school badge. Available from Your School Uniform. This can be ordered online or in school. There is a link to this under ABOUT US on the school website at: www.tuptonhall.derbyshire.sch.uk/uniform A navy blue school jumper with Tupton Hall logo may be worn with the blazer, but this is optional. Please enquire in school if you wish to purchase one. A formal, white, button to the collar shirt with long or short sleeves. To be worn tucked in. A school tie. Formal plain black trousers which must be of a polyester / viscose material. Stretchy, Lycra, jeggings, leggings or skinny fitting trousers are not acceptable at Tupton Hall. Details on trousers such as zips, metal studs and buckles deem them unsuitable. Appropriate trousers can be bought from Your School Uniform at: www.yourschooluniform.com or A black knee-length skirt, of a suitable style (not stretchy, Lycra or frilly). The school reserves the right to decide upon suitability. Plain black coloured shoes of a formal style with flat heels. Must be of a polishable material, with black soles, black laces, no logos or emblems. No footwear to be higher than the ankle. No Ugg style boots, trainers or canvas shoes are allowed (e.g. Converse, Vans, Nike, regardless of material). The only item of clothing allowed in addition to the school blazer is an outdoor coat - no denim, sports jackets or hoodies are allowed. 2

School dress code Whilst at school students should: Have items of clothing clearly labelled with students name and form. Wear their blazer at all times on the school site, and on their journey to and from school. The only exceptions are: - When in a lesson the blazer can be removed and placed on the back of a chair. - When actively involved in an organised ball game at the back of school. However, the blazer must be worn upon entering the school building. Wear their tie at all times on the school site. If an outdoor coat is worn in addition to the blazer, this must be removed upon entry to the building. Hats must not be worn anywhere inside the school building. Please bear in mind that not all items sold in shops in the back to school sections meet these requirements. Care should be taken when uniform items are bought, that they do meet the school s expectations. Other dress code rules: No jewellery is to be worn apart from one pair of stud earrings (no stretchers, spikes or tunnel type earrings) and a watch. Body piercing, including nose studs or any other facial piercing is forbidden. Natural make-up and nail varnish are allowed. Excessive make-up and dark / bright coloured nail varnish are not allowed and students will be asked to remove them if this is judged to be the case. Hair can be dyed as long as it is to a natural colour. Extreme styles, such as a Mohican, are not acceptable. Please consult the Head of Year for clarification. 3
