Introduction to s Collins doesn t make just one black ink for HP addressing and packaging printers, they make several. The customers use many different types of paper stock for a wide variety of applications, and each customer requires different characteristics from their ink. The goal is to satisfy the needs of all of the customers. The standard black inks satisfy the requirements for the majority of applications; however, if these inks do not meet the requirements, it is possible to work on a customized solution specifically for your application. Collins Brand s with Heads Up technology are formulated to substantially reduce the amount of operator maintenance. s with Heads Up technology don t require capping or purging between print cycles or after extended periods of down-time. s with Heads Up technology are denoted by an (H) on the product description. CM-903 The CM-903 is a pigmented-based ink that produces a high-quality image on porous substrates. This ink is good for bar codes, and other applications where there is a necessity for a very high-quality image. CM-290 FD This is the first ink Collins developed for the mailing business. In addition to drying fast, the black CM-290 is a very dark ink. As a result, customers report that they are able to reduce their dot resolution and still produce dark bold images. It is designed for use on offset stock (porous). CM-557 Coated Stock The best alternative for customers who need to print on coated paper. It gives an image that resists smudging on coated sheets. While there will be some smearing when the image is smeared with a wet finger, it will remain clearly legible. The image gets into the paper stock and therefore gives a more durable solution. CM-557H The CM-903, CM-557H and CM-150H are new Heads-Up inks. These inks will produce quality images at start up without cartridge wiping between print cycles. These inks were developed for extreme cases of down time. The CM-902H is designed for non-coated stocks and the CM-557H is designed for coated stocks. H types are added continuously. Please ask. Related Items: CM-557 RELIABLE H Displays a darker image than both the CM-557/CM557H, and dries extremely quickly on coated stocks. This ink also requires very little print head maintenance when compared to our other inks. Related Items: ONYX CM-150 High-Speed The CM-150 Hi-Speed. This ink prints at a lower DPI while still producing a dark image. This is a cost effective ink for the customer due to the fact that it uses less ink to print similar dark images. CM-150H The CM-903, CM-557H and CM-150H are new Heads-Up inks. These inks will produce quality images at start up without cartridge wiping between print cycles. CM-796 KB The CM-796 KB should be tried on the glossiest coated stocks, when the CM-557 does not work completely. It dries faster and smears less than the 557. COMPLETE The complete ink is formulated to print on both coated and non-coated stocks. It will give you the permanence of the CM-557 on coated stocks, but with the print quality and density of the CM-902 on non-coated stocks. &
ONYX Our Onyx is a dye based ink that is used to print on coated substrates. This ink is water fast and has the shelf life of 6 months; however the ink has a tendency to fade when subjected to light. The Onyx works well on aqueous and foil substrates. Shelf Life: 6 months Related Items: SOLV3 MAX 2 The MAX2 is a water/solvent based ink that prints on non-porous substrates including tyvek, PVC, varnish, polyvinyl, aqueous, and plastic cards. This fast drying ink produces a quality image that is smudge resistant on a variety of media.
