Liam thought to himself. So Liam jumped over the gate and turned around. There, in the long grass of the field, was the tiniest man Liam had ever seen. The tiny man was dressed all in green, with a long white feather in his cap. Liam s eyes lit up. A real, leprechaun! Liam licked his lips greedily. Every tiny leprechaun had a huge pot of gold hidden somewhere. with all his might. Quietly, Liam crept through the grass, reached out his large hands Got you! cried Liam as he squeezed the leprechaun Oooof! cried the leprechaun. Let me go, you big bully! Tell me where your gold is and I will! said Liam. Put me down and I promise I ll show you where my gold is hidden. A broad grin spread across Liam s face as he lowered the leprechaun back down on the grass. The leprechaun told Liam, My gold is buried under here in the middle of the field. And he pointed at a clump of dandelions. You ll need a spade as you need to dig quite a way down! But I don t have a spade with me, he grumbled. What shall I do? Tie your handkerchief around the dandelions so you don t forget where the gold is buried and hurry home and fetch a spade, San Ġorġ Preca College, Half Yearly Exams 2017, English Yr 4 Page 3 of 13
