2018 VALENTINES
Our industry is one of a handful where the design cycle is months ahead of the holiday or occasion we re designing for. Sometimes it s hard to get in the groove to say, design for Christmas in January when we really don t want to see another candy cane. Often this cycle messes up our internal calendars, getting us out of rhythm with the current festivities. Valentine s is different. We re always in the groove. In our book, love is year round. As we are tasked with designing for the Valentine s holiday, we keep in mind that it s important to appreciate people often and without a prescribed reason. Internally we call Valentine s cards lovey cards, meaning cards that have no assigned occasion but with a message of love, friendship, and appreciation. Of the latest cards in this catalog, we are especially excited by the Optical Collection (page 4), a set of cards where die-cut shapes complement the tone-on-tone printing to complete the individual letters that make up the message.
