This special chemical treatment patented in Austria and the United States is permanent. The process results in a hard ceramic layer on the pavilion of the stone and has proven to withstand cast-in-place methods and cleaning processes like ultrasound, magnetic pin, and acid bath, when predefined methods are followed. The availibility of zirconia in trendy colors offers exciting new possibilities to jewelry manufacturers, allowing for up-to-the-minute looks at affordable prices.
